I can admit that sometimes I jump too quickly when I feel unheard, and my writing (often done through AI) might come across stronger than what I'm truly feeling at the time. Unfortunately, things between Dr. LeMay and me escalated all the way to small claims court before we could find resolution. But after mediation and appearing in front of the judge, I saw a side of Dr. LeMay at the end that I hadn't before -- he gave kind advice, and it made me realize this was never about bad intentions on his part. Looking back, I think much of the tension came from fear and misunderstanding on my side and a lack of open communication on both sides. I'm not perfect -- I know I can be quick to react when I feel like I'm not being heard. But seeing everything come full circle, I honestly believe Dr. LeMay is a good person and a skilled dentist who just had an unfortunate situation with a patient (me) who didn't always fully understand the process. Regardless of the court's outcome, I consider this matter settled in my heart. I learned a lot about communication, patience, and listening -- lessons I want to carry forward into my own business ventures so that customers always feel heard and understood. He had lost most of his back teeth (upper and lower) and the ones in the front that were remaining were in horrible shape. His lower front teeth were almost all gone due to years of grinding and the upper ones were breaking away one by one. We were in a desperate situation to find a solution other than completely removing his remaining teeth and putting him in complete dentures. With the care, knowledge and talent of Dr. Kim, his assistant Gina, and their lab, my father now has a gorgeous smile and fully functional teeth. Since my dad did not have enough bone mass for implants, Dr. Kim still found a way to create a PERMANENT upper and lower bridge. He also added an extra tooth on the lower set as well as on the upper set. This created an elongated surface that allows my dad to chew food better since he has NO back molar teeth. Dr. Kim, Gina, ad the lab performed a miracle! We can never thank them enough for what they have done. I've included some photos so everyone can see the smile my father now has. Eventually a very young-looking woman barged through the door and announced "we have a problem." What? And who are you? I assumed she was the new dentist, but I'd never met a medical professional who failed to introduce herself. She brought my x-rays up on a screen, and pointed to a shaded area above a molar. "You have an abscess." I noted I'd had a root canal two years prior, but wasn't experiencing any abscess symptoms. She countered with "you don't practice good oral hygiene because you haven't seen a dentist in two years. You probably have bone loss and will need an extraction and implant." HUH??? I informed her that if she'd read my chart, she would know I 1) had recently seen the dentist she replaced, 2) had a teeth cleaning 6 months ago, and 3) have a serious medical condition that contraindicates tooth extractions and implants. She backed off and said we could "try" a second root canal, then disappeared and was replaced by a salesperson who attempted to upsell me on the above. I spent decades in the music/entertainment industries, and never have I experienced a clumsier hustle than this predatory dental gaslighting. The reviews here speak for themselves, but add to that the dentist had apparently graduated from dental school just a few months before I became her unwitting patient. Needless to say, I switched practices pronto, and enhanced imaging by a far more experienced dentist revealed the "abscess" was actually a sinus polyp. Turns out I didn't need $8,000+ of upsell that could've killed me after all. Go figure. Buyer beware.
