Anyone remember that game?…read more Well United Family Taekwondo appears to be as popular as Capcom's Street Fighter 2 and is a great place for fun and learning taekwondo in a safe, well managed, friendly environment. My son really enjoys coming to UFT and his discipline and respect have grown tremendously since starting classes here. The enthusiasm and exuberance my son displays when we tell him it's time to go to Taekwondo class speaks for itself. The Masters here really know how to keep the kids engaged and focused while teaching them respect, focus, discipline, and self defense. The taekwondo facility is clean and well kept. The prices are reasonable and I have heard they have an after school program which seems very popular as well. Overall, I give United Family Taekwondo 4.4 stars, rounded up, that's a 5. I have not experienced the same things the other reviewer mentioned…read more There are 5 "instructors" that I've seen - none are teenagers. All about 30 years old and up. All have been very professional and inspiring/motivating to my 6yr old girl. She loves going. We joined with a special they were having, then they notified us when our days covered under the special were about to be over. They gave a paper with different pay plan options (pre-pay full year, month/month, three-month commitment, etc) if you so choose to continue. They have 3 rooms they rotate the class through, each with it's own focus. I love this place. The only downside for me is that of the 5 instructors, only 1 speaks English as a first language, and 1 other instructor is ok speaking English. The other 3, I feel like I need a translator. I understand tae kwon do has Korean roots, however... Being a business in a city where English is spoken dominantly, bilingual instructors should be a priority. Especially when yearly commitments equal over $1k. I would feel more comfortable knowing I can have clear communication with the instructors/owner.

It is run by World Champion, Mr. Van Eck. His skill is phenomenal and he is dedicated to the sport and the kids. We are so lucky to have him at this school! The ATA program undergoes changes from time to time as they fine tune the program. The classes sometimes can be quite large but there are several instructors available to teach. There are multiple classes during the week that you can attend. And they also have classes for adults or free classes for the parents throughout the year. Be prepared to pay for belt testing several times in the year and invest in the combat weapons and gear that is needed for each cycle. Bottom line I have been very happy and surprised to see my son develop his Taekwando skills. He has done extremely well and loves his instructors. This is a great sport to get into. The Karate community is very supportive of all the kids and adults involved!
