A lovely room with a large comfortable bed, I was pleased to have WiFi having been without for a week! Breakfast consisted of quality produce just as we wanted, in an attractively decorated breakfast room. When we asked our hosts for information on things to do and see they were very forthcoming and we were grateful for their local knowledge and advice. The Ness Guest House is in a quiet area, close to the town centre, a few minutes walk to the riverside, yet surprisingly speedily accessible off the A9 with off-road parking, lovely house and excellent hosts. I have no hesitation in recommending The Ness Guest House to those looking for a warmly memorable stay in Inverness.

The owner runs the tearoom and B&B and has a few helpers here and there. There are I believe, 4 room options. Two of the rooms can accommodate small families and the others are very quaint, perfect for a couple. All of the rooms have their own bathrooms, and are extremely spacious. I stayed in the room upstairs, I believe it was Room 4, and it had a queen bed and a twin bed with the best bathroom ever! What's great about this B&B, is that you can bring your own groceries in (and purchase them down the street at the local shop), and the owner provides a big kitchen all exclusively for her guests. Some people may not like this, as they expect prepared food service. But the woman who works there provides milk, cereal, bread and butter AND she has the tearoom connected to the B&B. The scones are all homemade by her, which are to die for, and has the best pastries I've ever had. They also have a barista there as well. The coffee is sublime and nothing like what people have these days. She grinds the coffee beans and has plenty of options for the perfect cuppa jo. There are also tons of options to choose from as far as tea goes as well! Once you have all of your necessities for your day, if the weather permits, you can sit out on the front of the property, and enjoy the scenic view of the loch. Along with the tearoom, joint with it is a gallery. The owner loves to showcase other artists from around Scotland and sell their work in the gallery. Please have a look at her website and see what there is to offer! She is also on facebook! The price is a smidge high for a stay, but you won't regret it and it's the best price for the area you'll be in. You are literally a 7 minute walk from Eileen Donan Castle and an even shorter walk to the Clachan (Dornie's adorable little pub). I could go on for about 5 more pages on why this is the best B&B in that area but I won't. If you're visiting the castle or just making a pit stop in Dornie, please go to the Schoolhouse Dornie!

It was decorated beautifully, large, with a private, huge bathroom. Big white fluffy bathrobes were provided and the bed was the most comfortable bed my husband and I slept in the whole trip! There was also a large closet with a mini-fridge. Glen and John provided water, milk, tons of coffee, tea and hot chocolate, as well as two delicious lemon cupcakes! We had to arrive earlier than the typical 4:30 time to get into the rooms, but Glen and John were quite flexible, allowing us to drop our bags early, then we were on our way to sightsee. There is a great restaurant about a five minute walk down the road (The Dores Inn) with a great view of the entire Loch from the Dores Beach. Glen and John cooked a fantastic breakfast the next morning. The pancakes were soft and fluffy, the bacon and sausage delicious, the bread and jam homemade, and the eggs were from the chickens in the backyard! I tried the haggis, but I just don't like it--the other couple there assured me that it was cooked perfectly. There were booklets provided in the room with plenty of activities listed within, as well as detailed information about the B&B's policies and commitment to the environment--they try to run the B&B in the most environmentally friendly and sustainable way possible! If you're going Nessie hunting, definitely consider staying here!

I have had way worster experiences and I feel like these reviews are more for the hotel itself rather than just the restaurant itself so I do want to be somewhat fair. With all that being said... I can't confidently recommend the restaurant here. The Caesar salad was literally the only thing that was somewhat edible. I had been in Scotland for almost a week at this point and it was also the first time that I had ever been charged for water. That was something I kinda wished they would have mentioned to us if they were going to do that. That's not cool man. It really comes off as shady. For food I ordered the Seafood Risotto and there was practically no flavor. When I asked my friends how they felt about their dishes, it was unanimous around the table. Maybe the chef just quit the night before and they were trying to make do with what they have and know? It's just weird right? You see the pictures and see how cool The Inch looks inside and out and just figure if they have a restaurant that it's going to have at least "some" form of quality to the food. But there was none to be found unfortunately and you are left just feeling like this place is a tourist trap. So yea can't recommend the food here. Then again it is a small area. Maybe that's just all the people know? It'd be really sad if that was actually the case. My only hope is that the staying there for the night is an actual 5 star experience.

When we checked in the lovely girl came outside to greet us. It was the sweetest hotel check in ever!! Our room was lovely. There's a huge living room with a fireplace that they lit downstairs. That was my favorite place to hang out. There was also chairs outside overlooking the lake and it was so quiet and peaceful at night. And there's a little hike behind the hotels to the waterfall. It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The food in the restaurant was superior. They rent out the whole place for weddings and I'm trying to talk my best friend into getting married there it was so great.
