You can tell the small group of employees are a tight-knit group that really do always try to put their best foot forward. I've looked through the items this auction house offers multiple times and I'm always really impressed with their array. They have everything from furniture to home décor to tools to lawn equipment to gardening supplies to toys and games and collectables. Literally everything. Whether you love antiques, resell items, or want something new for your home at a ridiculously affordable price; this is the place to get it. They hold auctions weekly and are always very professional in the way they handle everything. Everything is clearly and neatly displayed and pictures are even posted on their Facebook group so you can get an idea of everything they are offering and decide if there are items you'd like to bid on up for grabs. Most auction houses now-a-days are still a bit 'old school' so I REALLY appreciate the fact that they advertise a lot of their items online so I can get a fair idea of what they are offering before I make the trip to Clinton. I haven't seen any other auction house that also posts great high-quality photos of their items online. I've discussed with Justine about her selling my items, and she's been very honest with me about the way she does business and has offered me her services in a fair manner. Compared to other auction houses I've spoken with, McGinty Auctions definitely has the friendliest reps and they're always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty in ensuring all of my questions are answered, and my concerns are addressed. Every time I call they pick up their phone and they're more than happy to talk me through everything. Whether you're looking to sell a lot of your old things, or you want to bid on some new things- this auction house is by far the best in the Illinois / Iowa area. I've been to a few different auction houses and this one always stands out as the one that offers the best service, the most diverse array of items, and the best prices. They have A LOT of furniture that can be upcycled for a profit- and also a ton of great items to sell on eBay. Totally worth visiting when you have some spare change to spend. This was for a total of 13 very small pieces, and they feel like Material/Box and Labor to pack is worth $43.80 and the Shipping charge is $38.35. I dont know when these auction companies decided that they would make shipping their big money maker. The strike fee was less profit than their overpriced shipping charges are going to net. All I have to say is if you are a bidder and want your stuff shipped expect to be gouged on the unknown side with the shipping charges. I wish they wouldn't feel the need to nickel and dime people out of more money and its getting to the point that I will just no longer bid on items because the added strike fees and insane shipping charges make the item no longer worth it.

I had it inspected to find that the firing pin was broken and was sold in that state. $450 for repairs. RIA offered a $100 credit for parts only and said that "mechanically excellent" is an opinion of their staff and they do not test their guns. I am in my 30's and, god willing, have another 30+ years of gun buying left. I will never purchase for them again as they sell broken guns. I will, however, be selling all my broken guns on their site and I have been recommending all I know to do the same. Poor business strategy RIA

I have seen a few mistakes where the description might say something like "King Mattress" but the main picture is of a blender and additional photos are of the mattress, that's just an example. I always read the description and check every photo before bidding. I do love that on the day the item's auction ends, every time a bid is placed it adds 90 seconds or so to the listing. I like this because if I've bid something like $10 on an item and there's 34 seconds left and someone thinks they can swoop in and bid $11 at the last second and win it, they can't! It'll add 90+ seconds and I'll have enough time to re-bid. I've bought things that didn't end up working or were in worse condition than the photos made it appear but that's the risk you take when getting something that retails for $100+ for $2. The only thing that I feel like that holds me back from giving 5 stars is that a few times when I've gone to pick up my items, someone either didn't check my items against my list before I left or the staff was moving items around and the numbers on the table didn't match what was actually on the table. I like other auctions that pull all the items for me. It's so much easier to go there, give my name, check my list, and they pull it all together and give me my list and items and I load them into my car. The overall experience of Sharpless is just missing a friendly, more welcoming environment. The staff always seem too busy or stressed to be helpful or polite. Again though, I'm picking up items for 90% off of retail so I'm not trying to complain. Overall, the pictures and descriptions are fairly accurate and for me personally, worth the risk when bidding.
