WOW... What a treat! GREAT couscous (merguez) GREAT kif's (small ban-chan like appetizers) GREAT tagine (lamb) SO MUCH FOOD! You can easily make a meal for two by getting just the kif assortment and eating a lot of bread. But instead we got the kif's, a couscous AND a tagine for two! We were so far from finishing the meal it was comical. House wine is very nice and goes well with the meal. The desserts look good, but as you can see, we did not have room to eat that. The staff are extremely friendly. I saw them accommodate an old man who just wanted to stop in for a dessert. It started dumping rain after so they gave him an umbrella! They also told us we can wait out the rain, but instead we got impatient and just got really wet. (naturally, the rain stopped as we reached the tram station a couple blocks away.) Highly recommended for anyone visiting this part of Brussels. It is hard to escape from the high rent low value touristy areas if you are visiting. Make a point of visiting this part of Brussels to get a different perspective of life here. read more

Kif Kif offers a very warm and comfortable atmosphere across the pond from Flagey with Middle Eastern dishes. The dinner was great but I wish they would serve only an assortment of mini kifs (around 10 so that it's filling enough) with bread and couscous. The person we were with advised against ordering the assortment of kifs they do offer as it only comes with a few and is not so filling nor worth the price. I ordered couscous with mixed fish, which also came with a tomato soup like sauce with vegetables. Personally, I like to order food that is prepared in a way that I could not do myself (or at least not without a great effort or needing a large number of ingredients I don't typically use). In my opinion, this dish wasn't anything difficult nor special that I couldn't have made on my own. The tagine, on the other hand, did look excellent and I know to order that instead if I return again. On the plus side, the dessert (the pasteries) and the fig and honey ice cream are divine! This of course goes best washed down with some sweetened tea. read more

Interesting restaurant tucked away between the two Flagey lakes (very close to Chsse de Vleurgat). The assiette Kif Kif is a great way to share a multitude of small dishes and sample everything. The display also looks very colourful, and makes a change from everyone ordering their own dish. Mint tea was incredibly good and service was, in general, quite friendly. One of the waiters was a bit odd, but as it was close to closing time, I'll take that any day in exchange for an evening without incident involving poor customer service! read more

I had the cold mini-kifs, which were varied and awesome. I found it extremely filling and tasty; there were about 12 of them, including dips and vegetables. Also had the lamb tajine, which was exceptionally tender. One note is that it gets really hot in the restaurant, so if you're able to get a seat outside, take it! read more

Love this place in the summer, because of it's large terrace over looking the étangs d'ixelles. Food is very tasty, whether you choose to take the coucous, the tagines or the brochettes with the "assiette kif kif" (small portions of a selection of tasty dishes). The decoration is authentic and traditional with a contemporary feel. When its a warm summer and you're sitting out on the terrace, you could almost believe you were in a foreign country. Easy going, good service, professional waiters (the same since the opening) and if you like waiters singing happy birthday then here is the place to be! Tacky but fun. When you've finished your dinner, you could go to delecta for a drink and good music, just 200 metros up the road. read more

This is a very good Moroccan restaurant, in a very interesting an lively neighbourhood of Brussels! We started with an excellent Mojito. As appetizer, we chose the "Assiette Mini Kif Kif". You get lots of mini plates with Falafel, Houmous, Salads, Tapenades, Sweet potato, Artichoke... Enough for 2! As entrée, we ordered the "Tajine Cuisse de poulet avec raisins et oignons caramelisés" (with chicken, raisains and sweet oignons) and the "Tajine d'Agneau avec prumes et almonds" (with lamb, prunes and almonds). The meat was perfect and the sauce was very tasteful. We got lots of bread and couscous without having tot ask for it. We ended with a delicious sweet Moroccan mint tea. The restaurant is decorated in a very funny vintage-kitsch way, with Moroccan/Arabic touches. The staff was very friendly! read more

We were the first people in this restaurant that we have visited before, knowing that our party that included four children and four adults might not fare too well as the evening got busy. Despite this, we were shocked by the innattentive, downright hostile staff. We had to ask for plates- surely this is a minimum requirements- and every little request, such as a spoon for the toddlers, was met with a sigh and at least a five minute wait for the waiter to amble off and disappear before returning with the requested item. This is a nice place and should welcome families as it is spacious and empty at the 6.30 opening. We spent a fair bit of money in here but did not feel at all welcome and most likely will seek out another spot for our regular dinners with visitors. What a shame. read more

One of my favourite Brussels terraces, great for a dinner during summertime. The whole setting is very 70's, but totally authentic. The food is really good, although the grillades could come in bigger portions. On the other hand, the tajines are really filling. Extra plus, especially for Brussels, the extremely friendly stuff, probably the most polite folks in the city! read more
