My niece currently attends Kids Together. My sister and brother in law did in depth research when searching for a preschool for their daughter to attend, and they could not be happier with their experience thus far. My sister has to be one of the most OCD people when it comes to health, wellness, and cleanliness. So I know that she would not let my niece spend any amount of time in a place that she did not feel was sanitary. Secondly, kids are bound to get sick, just like us! There's no other way around it. Should I quit my job because I catch the cold my co-worker has passed around? I also find it terrible that one of your issues is "endless fundraising" to charities. There is no pressure to donate. It is completely voluntary. Furthermore, I find it appalling that you are complaining about fundraising for great causes such as "breast cancer." My sister happens to be a cancer survivor, and I've sadly lost several family members to this terrible disease. So if my niece's school wants to take one small step to finding cures for terrible diseases, then I say, more power to them! As far as contributing to the education of our youth's teachers, I completely agree with the other good reviewer. In today's economy, teachers are being let go, budgets cut, and education going on the back burner. I am more than happy to contribute to the training of the teachers who are enriching and educating the lives of our children. After all, they are our future. Also, lots of schools ask for help with supplies. So it's not out of the ordinary. And again, my sister has never felt pressured to pay for anything outside of the regular tuition. Lastly, the comment that got me the most heated when reading this awful, uneducated review, was the fact you were complaining about spending time doing an art activity with your child on the weekend. Are you kidding me? I thought most parents look forward to the weekend to be able to spend that quality time with their children. What an artistic and fun way to do this! I actually have two of my niece's artwork pieces proudly displayed on my refrigerator. She was so excited to hand deliver her artwork that she did specifically for her favorite aunt and uncle. By the time I got to the end of the review and read the complaint about teachers' gifts, I was down right annoyed. I find it nice for the preschool to offer up suggestions for those parents that want to get their children's teachers a thank you gift. I've seen several of my friends ask for teacher gift suggestions on Facebook. If someone can provide a list and make it easier, all the better! Next time you feel the need to leave a bad review of any company, I suggest you bring real disadvantages to the table, instead of these ridiculous ones. If you read through her horrible review and notice all the grammar and spelling mistakes, it completely discounts her ability to professionally rate a school. I will address some of her issues before I tell you how amazing this school is... So-called disadvantage #1: First of all, a 2 year old's bowel movements are unpredictable, if the toddler cannot tell the teacher he has pooped, it may take a few minutes for her to notice it.. Secondly, the sickness that your child was experiencing is a normal part of the child getting his immune system prepared for the rest of his life. It is unavoidable for children to be well when around other children but it helps prepare them for society and future illnesses. And FINGER is spelled F-I-N-G-E-R... your toddler may have learned that already from his Kids Together, go ask him. You must've forgotten to add to the advantages the part that your 2yr old was sitting down independently reading a book,which is amazing. So-called disadvantage #2 I have never once been specifically ASKED to sponsor a teacher for training. There is a generic request sent out to parents that would like to voluntarily participate. There is no pressure, no guilt.. just the ability to educate teachers to assist in educating your child. Personally you should have attended these classes and benefited from the English/writing classes. The ADVANTAGE is that the teachers are more prepared and it helps keep the costs of running the daycare down so your tuition is reasonable and the teachers can get paid more. So-called disadvantage #3 This disadvantage infuriated me.. this is what is wrong with our society. LAZY parents who do not want to invest time in educating or even spending time with their child. And I quote: "I did not see any reason that I have to spend time to do art work from the daycare on weekend, just because my child is too young to do anything" No child is ever too young to do artwork and it saddens me that you feel you should not help them on the weekend. It's selfish and pathetic. The teachers are trying to create an environment for parents to do something fun with their children and show all their friends what they created. Imagine how proud your child would be to walk in and talk about the amazing artwork he got to make with his mom/dad this weekend.. instead you probably just sat him in front of the TV all weekend because you needed some time to yourself. So-called disadvantage #4 I believe the list that was sent out was help the parents that CHOOSE to give gifts out. There were no requirements, no judging.. only voluntary. So-called disadvantage #5 First of all, this school hasn't even been open for 10years. Secondly the retention rate of ANY school (including the one your child currently attends), will always be low because of salary and the stress from watching 12 children all day. Clearly you cannot handle watching one child on the weekend because you are complaining about spending time doing art work with him.. Now, that I have disputed all of your disadvantages, let me tell everyone else some of the advantages you forgot to mention... #1 - This school has an amazing security system set up in which the parents must enter the clean and welcoming lobby and enter a password specific to each family. Only then can you gain access to the children and their classroom. I have yet to enter the lobby without a front desk manager, who always has a warm smile for me and my child. (They always know her name too.) #2 - Art work of the children are displayed EVERYWHERE! My child loves running to her room and seeing her friends and her artwork. She is so proud of it and happy to show me what she did. #3 - This childcare is Gold Seal Accredited from the department of children and families. They have a NAC accreditation as well which is something every parent should look for in their childcare, regardless if they attend this one or not. http://dcfsanswrite.stat... Also, if you look at the reports on the provider page, you will see almost perfect Inspections from the department of children and families. If you go to their website and look at the 'honors section' you will see other awards they have received throughout the community. #4 - The children are REQUIRED to wash their hands when they enter the classroom. This was amazing for me to see because it enforces health and general cleanliness of the children and the room. #5 - Their disciplining involves redirection instead of punishment. I don't know about you, but I prefer this method when someone else is left with my child. #6 - My daughter has LOVED all of her teachers. #7 - Flexible days #8 - Big kid cafeteria! I child was with this daycare for about 6 month. Let me tell you some advantages and disadvantages: advantage: 1. The weekly tuition about $10 cheaper than other daycare centers nearby. disadvantage: 1. They do not keep your kids clean. I have picked up my child when he was sitting on his poopoo and reading a book; he had diaper rash several times because he was not properly changed. Other occasions are that they did art work, and the teacher did not wash his hands clean. My child ate all the colors on his figure tip. My child was sick every other week at this daycare. After transferring my child to another daycare, he caught cold much less frequently. 2. Endless fund raising. Almost every month, they have some sort of fund rising, breast cancer, American heart association, cookie sell, etc etc. Even when they need to send teachers for training, they ask parents to 'sponsor' a teacher. I am wondering why it is not the daycare's responsibility to train the teachers? In addition, Kids Together list all the sponsor family's name, and listed the teachers who was not been sponsored 1 week prior to the training date. How ridiculous! I transferred my child to another daycare. They have fund raising as well. However, they never ask parents to pay extra for teacher's training, and never post participant's name in a fund raising. 3. They keep parents busy. Both my husband and I work full-time. The teachers asked young toddler's parents to run so many errands, such as drawing a picture, decorating a piece of art work. My child was less than 2 years old, and all the burden went to parents. I did not see any reason that I have to spend time to do art work from the daycare on weekend, just because my child is too young to do anything. They frequently ask parents to bring class supplies, I even need to rush to home depot to buy plants and seeds as they requested. 4. Gift to teachers. Personally, I have no problem giving teachers a nice gift during Christmas and teacher's appreciation week. They very well deserve a nice gift. However, I have problem on the way the daycare manage it. During Christmas time, they send a parent a long 'work sheet' of 12 people, and what kind of gift card they want. I am not kidding, 12 people. Besides the 3 teachers in the class, they also listed director, assistant director, cooks, and a few substitute teachers we have never met with. 5. teacher retention. I noticed that some teacher in the toddler room did not even know someone who has been with the daycare for more than 10 years. That concerns me about the teacher retention at the daycare. Conclusion: Yes, this daycare is $10 cheaper than some of the daycare in the area. However, It does not worth the trouble I bumped into. I transferred my child to a new one, and my child is happier, healthier and learned more at the other daycare! read more

I have three children at Kids Together. I did the responsible thing and tours/interviewed 12 of the local area daycares. Kids Together was by far my #1 choice, followed by UCP in Research Park by UCF. Sure, Primrose is nice but they are a stones throw from the very busy 419 that a child could run out in to or a car accident could end up in their lot. Kids Together has been the most wonderful experience for me. All 3 of my kids love it. Your involvement there as a parent really enhances the experience. I love that the school lets me volunteer in their classrooms (I work full time but can go for lunch break and do a lesson). If I suggest a community partner to come and talk to the school, they always work with me to make that happen. This is my third year at the school and I have loved all of the rooms and all of the teachers. Someone mentioned a teacher retention problem. Of course that is going to happen. The teachers are young and if they marry or finish college, it is a natural time for them to move on. However, in two out of the three years for me, I have had teachers who have been there four or more years. The school really impresses me with how they bend over backwards to do special events for the families. They have an Easter egg hunt for the families w/ a bunny and they give out prizes to ALL of the students. They have Muffins with Mom, Donuts with Dad, and many other events. They go all out for amazing days like Transportation Day. They set up parades, bounce house days, water days. I even loved when they gave my toddlers HW so we had an idea of what they were learning and could be involved. I am also so impressed with how clean the school is. If there is a scuff mark on a wall they seem to be right on it. Their landscape is lovely. If I ever have a question, I get an answer immediately. I enjoy that the school asks for parents involvement. The door decorating for teacher appreciation week was amazing. The field trips they take their students make me envious and wish I were there! I have no qualms with the food/snacks they provide. My children always bring home new/wonderful art. The teachers worked with my kids and made the most beautiful mother's day gifts. I really feel like the school takes pride in the services they offer. There is absolutely no other place I would send my children to. Kids Together is phenomenal. read more

If you're looking for an educational childcare that's offers your child a safe and loving environment, look no further than Kids Together in Oviedo. I have two children at Kids Together, who have both been students there since they were infants and I say over and over again how lucky we were to find such an exceptional, safe, supportive, loving school for our children. Let me start by setting the record straight on some of the disadvantages mentioned in another post on this site. 1) cleanliness: I have never had an issue with the cleanliness at this facility. They are very sanitary, they never have left my children in dirty diapers and are fastidious in how they handle pottying (the teachers wear gloves and every diaper change is recorded on the student's daily sheet), handwashing (they wash the children's hands as soon as they come into the room each day), and as far as sickness -- any pediatrician will tell you kids who enter kindergarden and come from a daycare environment miss fewer days because they've built up their immunities. I'm sure this parent's child was much less sick after leaving Kids Together because he/she built up their immunities. To that parent I say, you're welcome:) 2) fundraising: Kids Together has some great fundraising opportunities which parents can participate in if they want to, or not. There is no pressure. And the breast cancer and American Heart Assoc. fundraising this parent is referring to are wonderful team building opportunities that this school participates in to bring their staff together and support our community..and not to mention the parents. Many of the fundraising events Kids Together supports are as a result of the parents, including a mom who is fighting breast cancer and a dad who died from a stroke. We should thank the Kids Together staff and administration for supporting us! As for sponsoring a teacher for a conference or workshop, my family has happily sponsored our teachers for programs. It's a simple choice, it benefits my kids, but again there is no pressure. 3) Parent involvement: I have never seen such phenomenal art projects as I see my children create at Kids Together. Their annual art show each Spring says it all. Sure, they ask parents to bring in extra supplies IF they have them laying around their house. Personally I have no problem bringing in some empty water bottles and (gasp!) sit down with my child on the weekend to work on a journal as part of a classroom project. It is not a burden but my privilege as a parent to participate in my child's education. 4) Teachers gifts: Kids Together has a Parent Appreciation Committee which came up with the idea of the "list" a few years ago as a way to help parents during those times of the year when (Christmas, Teacher Appreciation Week) when students traditionally get gifts for their teachers. Again, no pressure, just an option for us working parents who want to say "thank you". Oh, and by the way the list of 12 teachers is just to help parents know who are all of the people who work directly with our children everyday. I'm delighted that this many people love and care for my child on a daily basis, but again there is no pressure to buy any gifts or to buy gifts for everyone on that list. 5) Teacher retention: Let me just say that the teachers at Kids Together are amazing and the adminstration is amazing for how they recruit, hire and train their staff. They recruit loving, dedicated, committed people who LOVE and care for my children. Many of these teachers who have left recently are students studying early childhood education and they leave because they graduate or they need to focus on their studies. I suppose if Kids Together wasnt so picky in who they hire, then maybe they wouldn't have turnover...but then that begs the question of the type of the teacher they'd have working with my kids. I'll take a quality teacher for a year rather than a so-so teacher who is just there for a job and not for the right reasons. Conclusion: Kids Together has gone above and beyond my expectations. From their curriculum --which includes sign language and Spanish as well as weekly themes and book authors and artists -- to their staff who are a diverse group of educators who are there to teach the children and help them develop and grow and learn...not just babysit -- to their menus, which incorporate healthy options that kids actually like to eat -- to their vision, attention to detail and individualized programs...this is THEE premier educational childcare facility in Central Florida. .My kids have attended Kids together for over 6 years, 1st my daughter in the after school prpgram and my now 2 year old son (who has been there since 8 weeks old). What a wonderful school! The teachers are wonderful and its hard to leave a class when you must move to the next. Then you discover you have more great teachers. I have 2 children at Kids Together. My eldest has been there for 3 years, including the VPK progam, and my youngest has been there for 2 years. I looked into the other daycares in the area, and Kids Together was the best, by far. I love all of the kids artwork that is displayed throughout the building. It makes my kids so proud to show me what they've made. Both of my kids seem to be learning so much. The teachers take every opportunity to make something educational and fun. I am thrilled with all of the "extra" activities that my children get exposed to...Tea with the queen, tumble time, play ball, parades, gardening, transporation day, and SO much more. The teachers and staff are always friendly and helpful. They are willing to meet anytime, even after hours, to discuss situations with my children. I enjoy that my kids get "homework", as this helps me know what they are learning in class. I appreciate the monthly newsletter for each classroom, and the lunch scheuled that is emailed to me, thus, allowing me to print them out. As a parent of a current VPK student, I personally hold the Kindergarten Readiness Rate a strong endorsement for a VPK program. We chose Kids Together located at in 1288 Sanctuary Drive in Oviedo for our first VPK experience. It has been an incredible journey to see our child's development and growth. We are satisfied with our decision to enroll in VPK at Kids Together and proud that our child had a hand in helping them earn one of the highest Kindergarten Readiness Rates in Oviedo, a 95! The Kids Together VPK program has included hands-on learning experiences, monthly field trips that tie into the curricula and even special events that encourage social interaction between all VPK classes. One favorite experience of my child's was the recent VPK Game Day. The 59 VPK students at Kids Together participated in events like sack races, hopscotch, musical chairs as well as bean bag and ring tosses. At the end of the day each child was called up and awarded a gold medal for their sportsmanship. Field trips to the zoo, pumpkin patch, pet store and fire station were also a hit. All of the students at Kids Together got to enjoy school-wide events like the Dr Seuss parade, an on-site petting farm and most recently their largest event, Transportation Day. read more

Absolutely amazing. My 5 month old daughter started here last month and it has been a great experience. The teachers are wonderful and create a safe and loving environment for the children. It was very hard to put my daughter in daycare but I feel 100% comfortable with this place. It's always clean. As soon as you walk in you're greeted by name. All the parent references I got while my husband and I were touring were positive. The classrooms are all video monitored and you can ask to watch the monitor whenever you'd like without the teachers knowing. Also, there's an open door policy so you can walk-in whenever and not have to set-up an appointment. Every morning when I drop-off my daughter she starts to giggle as soon as she sees her teacher and when I pick her up she always has a clean diaper and a smile on her face. I'm very happy with my decision on sending my daughter here; from baby massages to textured art projects to Spanish Days with Miss Norma, there's always something new and exciting for my daughter to experience for the day. read more

My kids loved their friends, the teachers, and even the owners (who are active in the center). And as a parent there is nothing more I could ever ask for than happy children. I have been taking my son there for almost a year. I love the daycare, they do fun activities with the kids that I woudn't think of doing on my own. As mentioned, there is water day, bounce house, transportation day, mother's/father's day breakfast, breakfast with grandparents, and art shows. All the staff is nice and sweet. I know other people from my work take their kids as well and are happy as well as the kids which is why I selected this one (plus it was close to my house and out of traffic area). read more

My daughter has attended Kids Together since she was 13 weeks old and they are amazing! I toured and investigated multiples daycares/preschools before making my decision on Kids Together. It is bright, inviting, and has large classrooms. Other local schools had very small rooms, especially for infants, that almost felt like an orphanage rather than a preschool. We have been at Kids Together for 2 1/2 years now and don't have any complaints. All of the teachers have been wonderful and feel like members of our family. Each room has cared for my daughter like she was their own. The teachers have always been available to us and answer any questions we have. The Director has an open door policy and you can speak with her at any point in time. Anytime I've had questions or a concern, I've been able to speak with teachers and management. It is the most incredible feeling to know that my child is in wonderful hands when she is at Kids Together. I love seeing her excited about going to school. She runs into her classrooms full of hugs for the teachers and talks about her teachers at home. You can just see the love they provide to her in everything she says. The school offers a variety of activities for the kids including the traditional learning opportunities but they also think outside of the box with Transportation Day, Art Shows, interesting visitors from the community, and parades to celebrate various holidays. They do have several fundraisers and provide the lists for Christmas/Teacher Appreciate Week. However, I have NEVER once felt pressured to purchase or buy anything. My daughter also never comes homes dirty as another reviewer mentioned about their child. Diaper rashes are a fact of life for infants and my daughter had more than her fair share as she has excessively fair/sensitive skin. The teachers always promptly changed my daughter when needed and even went above and beyond at making sure they watched her closely when she did have a diaper rash so it could be treated. We also had our fair share of sickness but as other reviewers have noted, they are kids and they will get sick. Whether from daycare or the community playground, they will get sick. It is a fact that kids in daycare miss fewer days when they start elementary school because they have been able to build their immune system. I can guess the daycare that you child is attending now, and I can promise you kids get sick there as well. I have a close friend that is in the same place and I know for fact that the kids catch the same colds there as they do at Kids Together. However, I also know that Kids Together goes above and beyond to make sure classrooms are clean and sterilized to minimize the spread of germs as much as humanly possible. We have not experienced a high rate of turnover with the teachers; although, I know turnover does happen. However, this happens everywhere in every daycare. It is not unique to Kids Together. My husband and I also work full-time jobs but love putting together art projects with our daughter on the weekends. I can't believe a parent would complain about having to spend time with their child on the weekend doing artwork from daycare. What will you do one day when you have to spend time each night with your child working on homework? I have to agree with another reviewer that this mentality is the problem with many parents today. It seems that parents want the schools to raise and teach their children everything. I would recommend Kids Together without hesitation. The staff is more like family to us rather than just teachers. I know every family has to make the decision that works best for them and their child. However, I don't believe it is fair to bash a daycare/preschool mainly because they ask you to be an active participant in your child's education and future.
