My son had a friend's birthday party tomorrow so we wanted to get his first professional haircut done. We had family help before, but we wanted to have it done at a kid friendly place so he could experience it. Pictures and reviews of Kids Fun Cuts looked awesome and I knew this would be the perfect place for him. They had a little play area for kids who are waiting which was very nice. They have various car seats for the kids and if you need it they have regular chairs. We saw one dad with his kid in a chair since it helped get the haircut done, which is very good to know since we have a 1 year old and we'll probably need that option. They have TVs for each station and my son was able to watch cars as he got his haircut. The stylist, Jenna, was very friendly and you could tell everyone here enjoys working with kids. I couldn't be happier with the entire experience and how perfect my son's hair cut came out. We even got to take home a balloon and lollipop. We booked online to have our sons first hair cut done and the experience was great ! The staff is well trained in making the kids feel welcome and comfortable. There is a play area and seating for parents. The are TVs in each station so kids can watch their favorite shows or movies while getting their haircut. The seats are also fun for the kids because they're cars or trucks so they can play while the barber is doing the cut! If I could no stars, I would. I've taken my son here twice and each time my wife and I have shown a picture of what we would like his haircut to look like and we get nothing like it. We asked for someone experienced and it's clear the individuals we get are not. They cut so much more than necessary, they clearly mess up and cut where they shouldn't (don't even admit or are open about it), instead they keep cutting more and more making it works, then our hearts sink at how horrid his results look like. My wife and I don't want to cause a scene so we leave quietly but extremely disappointed. We grew out our son's hair longer than we planned just to make sure he had a nice decent cut that matched what we planned for him. It truly looks like my toddler cut his own hair. We blame ourselves for giving the place a second chance. Some of these barbers need further training. read more

I have been bringing my son here for a few months now because I felt that he needed a kid friendly barber and so far I am completely satisfied with the service we have been provided. My son has not been easy but Yuriko continues to show compassion, professionalism and overall patience. He has slowly improved at his visits due to her sweet and calm demeanor. I know it is not easy to work with kids so I am grateful for establishments such as kids fun cuts. The salon is kept clean, it's extremely kid friendly and the kids get rewarded with treats and balloons , I find it very thoughtful. The hair cuts have been great but not always perfect because he has not always been cooperative ,which in that case it's obvious that there is so much that can be done but even then I have been satisfied. Long wait times, which is weird because you have to make an appointment. Expect to wait 15-20 minutes past your appointment time. Staff is inconsistent in terms of friendliness. Sometimes you get someone who seems annoyed to help you. When you're paying they hold the screen in front of you with the tip options: 35%, 40%, or 45%. You have to awkwardly click "custom" while they're holding the screen and punch in your own amount. We like the fun setup with the cars, tv, and play area. I drove from over an hour away to have my 3 and 5 year old children get their hair cut here. I'm 8.5 months pregnant, and about 5 or so off ramps away I started getting contractions and had to pull off the freeway (luckily they were Braxton hicks and stopped after I moved around and drank some water)! At that point I was 20 min from my appointment start time and I was now going to be 10 min late. I called and asked if I could still be accommodated or I should just turn around, and they told me it depended on whether they were still working on the client ahead of us when I got there. So I kept driving and got there 10 minutes late. One of the stylists was still working on the prior client, but the other was waiting and said we were too late and turned us away. That was already disappointing, but I understand we were late and they have a schedule. But it was a slap in the face to then get two $10 cancellation fees charged to my card. I didn't no-show and I didn't meet any of the criteria they list for why they might charge the fee, so I was very disappointed to see this. It's one thing to charge a fee to make sure people don't just mindlessly book appointments and not show up and waste a stylists' time, it's another to charge a fee to a person calling in and rushing that you turn away, especially when one stylist wasn't even done with the client ahead! read more

I do not recommend this place if you want to get your daughter or son with long hair a haircut. The stylist (I won't name her) sprayed my daughter's hair wet and cut it. My daughter has thick hair with a slight wave to it. We couldn't tell until her hair dried but it was so choppy and uneven. I ended up having to cut her hair myself to even it out. For $30 and tip, this was not worth it and a major disappointment. It looks like they are better with boys haircuts. They were really packed today and a lot of little ones were getting their haircuts as well. Nary was so patient and gentle with our little one. I went for my daughter's first haircut today and my experience wasn't great. I called in to inform them that I will be running 5 mins late and they gave me a hard time about it (Mind you they have a 10min grace period) When I arrived to check in the hairstylist wasn't so welcoming and she was rude and said "oh good just in time i was about to charge you". I brushed it off and chose to ignore it. She then asked how I wanted my daughter haircut to look I explained and she started cutting my toddlers hair. She didn't bother splitting her hair in the middle which can make it uneven. She was honestly rude she didn't bother conversating with me or my daughter. Mind you I told her my daughter's birthday is tomorrow and her response was just wishy washy and anytime I asked her questions she'd respond with an condescending tone and attitude and responds back trying to make you feel dumb even if you have simple questions.
