They treated her pretty decent so I'm not gonna bitch and moan about the joint. I'll let her do that. We saw lots of peeps, students, staff, etc., come and go over the years. But it has since changed, and significantly at that. With "no child left behind" comes a lot of student mainstreaming, a reduction of attendance, staff and of course, opportunity. But... They service all abilities / all ages and for the most part, have a great staff (hence, the wifey), lol. Plus, it's our polling place when the time comes. One question... Why my pic Yelp, why mine? LOL

I wondered why the teacher was giving false statements about withholding my daughter's voice output device for over two years with, "She doesn't have homework" Our Harbor Regional Counselor interjected he saw her get off the school bus and go straight to her homework desk without being prompted. In the second year of the IDR/Amendment meeting (falsified as a new agreed upon IEP compliments of Gavin) She recanted this statement with, "She does have homework but doesn't do it". The next year the overseer of the IEP team (not a member) straight out said, "Frankly, I don't think you will charge the device overnight". "What would the teacher do?" I responded, "The phone I call you with all my concerns with is charged every day and night". Further, I have to let the public know their children are being rounded up together as a whole in class for only minutes of so-called therapy for speech. It is more minutes than the 10 minutes on Mondays for the whole class with only my daughter's device (still withheld from Alina and family) and the entire school. They closed the doors on us because they know these therapies aren't being done correctly according to the contractual obligation of the IEP. Looks like promotions are in the air from the District because Tina M. (I call her the Tina 9000) won't be back and left the desk for her protégé Gavin (Tina Jr) Mary Jullienne was rewarded for her conduct with a raise and a position of vice principal. I can find peace in knowing at least I know these culprits and I can "Tell" them. The upcoming newer versions are not going to slip ever. And I pray that one day "I'll be Back". And so will parent's rights to educational decision making

It is extremely hard to find the right place for my son without being turned away, not fitting my schedule, or not being accepting of therapists dropping in. When I was ready to give up I came across Smith Family Daycare & upon inquiry Ms. Jackie gave me meaningful advice and literally left me in tears. Not only did she recommend resources that I am still using for my son but now he is comfortable at a place where he gets his weekly speech therapy, they work perfectly with my schedule & my son is speaking more words than he ever has. They even open the daycare 30 mins earlier than scheduled to work with my schedule! I am so thankful/ grateful I found them. Out of the three daycares my family has been with, I find this one the best. I am comfortable through the day, I'm not getting calls left and right at work, and they always show up on time. The staff is caring and delightful and do their best, always. It takes a village to raise a child & they really help more than what is expected of a child care facility. Highly recommended!

I love the pre-k program they have set up for my children so that they are ready for kindergarten. All four of my children have been with Smith family daycare and I will definitely recommend Ms. Jackie childcare again. Oh yea I love the arts and crafts and music time my children learned.

Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience and stopped coming after 3 months. My daughter and son were taking lessons together and Branka was constantly comparing them in an unkind way and it seemed very intentional. Every single session this would happen and she was constantly making negative comments during the lesson about how my daughter was progressing. We are not overly soft people but her comments were starting to get abusive, unhealthy and non productive. I explained to Branka several times that my daughter is 3 years younger than my son and she will need more time and she said in front of my daughter that she has preschoolers that play better than her and laughed. At my daughter's last lesson she was crying afterwards and really upset. Branka speaks in riddles and also has a heavy accent so she is not the best at explaining things and she is very difficult to understand while teaching. She is also older and her thinking is really outdated and she was constantly making comments to my kids that we didn't like and it was uncomfortable because we never knew what was going to come out of her mouth. We tried to stick it out but it just wasn't working. She is also really eccentric which we are not opposed or judgemental to but it was getting to be very overwhelming. I like that she is straightforward but she was not patient and was careless with how she expressed herself. The lessons were more damaging than helpful and I regret bringing them here. I don't think Branka is a bad person and I'm sure she's a great pianist but our experience was honestly not good.
