I've never had a bad experience and have had Dr. King, and a couple other Drs on her team, see my kids. Everyone of them was great and attentive. I've never felt like my concerns were disregarded or played down. Dr. King will always take the time to not only hear you out but will also take time to educate you on what maybe going on. She also always takes her time and warm up to my kids, making them feel comfortable during their visit. The waiting room and sick room have always been neat and clean. I know they have a routine of sanitizing it as I have been there as they were about to close for lunch and saw the staff go over all the chairs and tables. The staff has always been kind. Front desk staff is great. I have to admit I always hope for Erica when I call, who has been there since I first started coming. She is always on top of her game and ready to help you however she can. As far as wait times, I'm sure they can vary but I can't remember a time when my wait time was ridiculous even on a walk-in visit. I also want to give them kudos on the changes they've made through COVID to make sure to keep sick visits and all others separate and safe, as well as the way they handle patient check-ins. From the moment she first saw my son we felt completely comfortable in her professionalism and friendly bed side manner. Dr. Fikkert took to Cole as if he were her own child. In the short time we were at the hospital she made such an impression on us that we wanted Chimene to be Cole's doctor. We do not live close to Dr. Fikkert's office at all, but how far are you willing to go for your children. Now we have a daughter and she goes to Doctor Fikkert as well. Taking our children to see Dr Fikkert is always a good experience because she makes us feel as though we have the greatest kids and are the best parents in the world. Unfortunately, our recent visit with a different doctor was the complete opposite and left me extremely disappointed. From the beginning, the doctor dismissed my concerns without properly examining my daughter. She was rough with her during the visit and initially insisted nothing was wrong. I clearly explained what was going on, and it wasn't until after she finally decided to check my daughter's leg that she acknowledged there was a knot there. Her recommendation? Epsom salt. Then she asked if I even knew what that was -- incredibly condescending and unprofessional. This kind of care is unacceptable, and I no longer feel comfortable bringing my child here unless it's with Dr. Smith. Because of this experience, we won't be returning.

The world of motherhood starting out is a scary freaking place, and you can read a lot in the world of the internet these days which more often than not makes it even scarier. I took a leap of faith when taking my first baby to her first newborn check, a week after she was born, at this Cook's Pediatrics location. I scheduled an appointment for one of the colleague doctors, because the main doctors i'd heard about here were booked. I was booked with Dr. Jackson in August of 2012, and haven't looked back since. In fact, I just got back from an appointment with her and my second kiddo today in May 2016. Dr. Jackson has always honored my mother/kiddo questions, big, small, important, or silly (like today when I said semi-sarcastically... I'm afraid she has West Nile Virus!) with complete and thorough answers that have never, not even once made me feel like an idiot for asking them. She reassured me and walked me through statistics, and tips when fear of SIDS controlled my life for the first year of motherhood. Her bedside manner with children is absolutely impeccable and my children both enjoy her company. She can even get my younger one to crack a smile, and she starts screaming the moment we walk into the building. If Dr. Jackson isn't available, because she only works certain days (hey! she's a mom too!), we will see Dr. Leung. She is also fabulous! She is very thorough, talking things through from the beginning of symptoms and always proceeding on the side on caution with me, because it typically makes me feel better. When my first was 10 days old she had a red lump in the breast which they thought thought to be a serious condition. Dr. Leung consulted with a colleague who had been practicing for many years and brought him in to look before offering her recommendation of an ER visit. I always recommend these ladies to anyone with a new baby looking for a doctor in the Bedford area. They are awesome in their work, with kiddos and parents the same.
