I called in the morning because it was time for my daughter to have her first haircut. Her hair was constantly in her eyes and she refused to let us put bows or do anything with it. She's very sensitive and hates anyone touching her face and head. Rita had availability the same day and told us to come on by. Took my 18 month old here today after I saw a few suggestions on Facebook for the best kids haircut place. I was really nervous because He's not great with strangers, especially with strangers trying to touch him and I didn't want to traumatize him and have him hate haircuts forever. I was surprised with our visit because it went so much better than I thought it would. He had a few moments here and there but Rita was SO patient and friendly with him. She knew when to give him breaks and how to redirect his focus onto something else when he was starting to get overwhelmed. We had such a great first haircut appointment. She is so easy to communicate with via text and email. I've been cutting my son's hair and it was time for a professional... She led the moment right as we arrived! Took her time but was also quick. Guided me on how I could help, an iPad was ready with a cartoon, and she was able to keep him manageable with a lollipop towards the end for finishing touches. I called and asked if they still had the cute chairs that were cars or motorcycles for the kids to get their haircuts in and was told that the original place had them but had closed down and now has a new owner but she did say she had a fire truck one and we went ahead and schedule an appointment that same day. Came in and got our temperatures checked and I showed her the Yelp discount and she gladly accepted it! Got my kid a trim n new bangs in no time. I don't think we plan to come back though. I'm not one to leave 1 star reviews lightly. But got my daughters first haircut today. And not sure if they forgot how to cut hair in the stay at home shut downs but her hair is so uneven. The left side is about half a inch longer then the right. I'll never go here again..... and because it was cut as a bob it's already short so I don't want to get it cut shorter to fix it. Tammy the owner is great. She is why I gave 2 stars instead of just one. Recently she has raised prices and hired (or rented stations to) some people who are NOT good. It doesn't look good for the future of KCC. Tammy doesn't seem to be around much any more. The last few times I went Tammy was not there. It was different women each time and each was worse than the last. The final straw was an older woman who has zero patience with my 4 year old. Didn't listen to what we wanted. Worst experience ever. I took my 14 month old for his first haircut. Seeing this place had decent reviews I decided to give them a try. My son was very cooperative and his haircut came out as if a lawnmower lost control. So choppy and uneven. He has some really long hairs around his ears while the rest is way to short, even bald spots. I am so disappointed. Then to top it off, when we were leaving my other boy goes to move the seat they sit children on and a HUGE cockroach goes crawling to the other side of the salon. My son asked me what that was and I just grabbed him and walked away. I couldn't tell you the name of the person that did his hair because she didn't introduce herself. Very unfriendly. You would think for being a kids place they would be more friendly. My sons haircut took over an hour. He was crying and screaming by the end and she still wasn't done while the other lady was on her third kid. I would not recommend this place at all. I've taken my toddler son to get his hair cut more then a few times at kid's places. Normally he fusses, moves, and cries a little to a lot depending on the day. I do my best to calm him and hold his hands away from the scissors (if needed) and eventually he sits still and eats his snacks. Anywhere we've gone, they have been pretty understanding of his fear. They have always handled things calmly and gently. Just like they have worked with other kids who have been upset, which happens. I've seen it. It can be scary for a young child until they get used to it. We've always walked away with a good haircut. Yesterday, we walked away with a very choppy haircut and with a feeling of being rushed through the cut and rushed out. I don't expect a half hour hair appointment for a toddler, but I do expect some time to make sure that people walk away with a haircut that won't make stranger stop and ask me if my toddler cut his own hair. (This happened yesterday!) Also, someone calm who won't get visibly stressed and upset over a child who is crying. This is why we go to children's places. The environment, experience, and skill when working with children. I tried to do the things that normally would calm him down in just a few minutes. I also did all the things the hairstylist suggested because I felt she was very stressed over the crying and hoping it would help the situation and help her focus. Me going back and forth getting things, didn't help. It made things worse and made for more fearful toddler. Rushing because he was crying, didn't help anything either. It just created a really bad haircut. Since he was upset and we were on our way to a funeral, I asked if I could use their sink to spray off his head quickly since he was a mess after. Nope! Couldn't do that because he's too small. (At other places, they have washed his hair at the big sink with his cut. I didn't even need to ask) Plus, I was told that there were other people waiting. Our cut was less then ten minutes! They actually took us earlier then our appointment time and the other people had not been waiting long. I cleaned him up as good as I could and asked her to fix the back a little. I got an "I'll try." She didn't seem to care, even if he was finally holding still. She didn't ask me if it was ok...nothing. It felt like she just wanted us to leave. I thought I was very kind to her and tried not to be rude myself so I don't understand her lack of caring. I would think that when working with children, you know that crying and struggling are just part of the job and eventually they grow and are excited for hair cuts. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I took my daughter here for a very simple haircut. It was supposed to just be a straight cut. From the beginning I was worried. The person cutting her hair was holding the scissors without any regard where it was pointing. So I had to watch very closely. The person that cut my daughter's hair was moving very slow. It was so slow that it didn't even seem normal. She finished the haircut and one side was longer than the other so I asked her to fix it. My husband walked in to see if he could get me 3 yo's hair cut. He wanted to make sure that there was staff that new how to line or fade. So he walks in and immediately was greeted with a rude "how can i help you", like she already had a problem. Mind you she was sitting down and there were ZERO customers. The hairstylist was kind enough to show him the clippers but didn't seem to have patience when he was moving around which led to her butchering his cut. Have tried this place a few times and every time it seems like there is something wrong with my son haircuts. I took my son right before Christmas. Arrived early to my scheduled 10am appointment and there was only one person cutting hair with one person in the chair. I waited and I was up next. The lady asked if I had an appointment and I informed her that I did. She stated that she had an appointment at 10 as well. Reluctantly, she said that she would cut my son hair. I informed her that I wanted a 1 at the top going into a 0/1 with no lining. Needless to say she cut a lining in the back of my sons hair and it still hasn't grew back yet.
