The school website is pretty bad and could use some help to make it more user friendly. There is one lady in the office that seems particularly grouchy, and the schedules during finals week were beyond confusing. That being said, This is a great district to send your kids to. I graduated in 2016 with 6 other students…read more My elementary educated was excellent, I dealt with bullying due to my unusual family background, however, the principle at the time did his best to regulate the bullying and, in my opinion, it was extremely helpful. When I reached middle school and high school I continued to have difficulties, however, not with students it was with the teachers. I will admit that when I was in elementary I was an extremely troubled child. I was a foster child and did not receive the proper parental guidance in my life until I was 7 years old when my biological parents were removed from my life. Teachers talk and made my guardians aware that they knew of my troublesome behavior and were ready to act when necessary. I truly had very little problems from 7th grade till 10th with any of my teachers. In 10th grade we received a new English teacher and that seemed to be when the problems started. This teacher on some accounts made inappropriate comments about her home life and enforced her personal Biblical beliefs on students rather than true Biblical mandates, which confused many students. When the administrator was approached on the account of this English teachers' inappropriate behavior it was brushed aside due to the personal relationship between the two. My senior year my family was going through some trials that made it difficult for me at home. Instead of receiving the Spiritual guidance I truly needed I was told to "Get over it," and continue with the task at hand (the school play). When I graduated my younger siblings still attended the school. One of my sisters was accused by the English teacher in front of other students of having immoral relations with the administrator. This was verified by the teacher, administrator/spouse, and student to be untrue. When approached in meetings by our guardians, administrator, and pastoral staff this teacher stated that she did not recall saying that, would never say that, and in her mind did not say that. Unfortunately, due to these unresolved circumstances the court stated that my siblings could not have that teacher, which resulted in my sibling's removal from the school. This resulted in my sister, who is a senior, being unable to finish school with her friends. The beginning of Genesis 50:20 states that what man means for evil God means for good. This being said my sister is able to take classes at her new school geared toward her college education and has received a paid internship in a field of her college interest.

The teachers truly care about our kids and our kids love the staff (even with teacher changes which is expected in this environment, they hire great staff time and time again). The curriculum they offer at each age level is perfect. The daily sheets were always nice to get when the girls were young so we were able see what was going on. The sheets also gave us a place to start dinner conversation with the girls. Now, they think they just get to "play" all day but little do they know they are learning - love it! The other thing that our family likes about KinderCare is the flexibility. We certainly pay more for this flexibility but when you have a job that fluctuates on a regular basis it's hard to depend on one person and some locations you pay for your spot no matter what - here I'm able to take the girls when I need to and it's nice; I don't have to stress over paying money for time I'm not using but know I can count on them when something comes up and I have to take them there last minute. All of these things combined are great but the most important is that our kids are happy and healthy and that gives me the ability to go to work knowing they are in good hands!

One of the best examples I can give of how amazing the center and teachers are is one day when our daughter couldn't find her blanket. No less than 7 teachers and both the director and the assistant director helped us look for 30 minutes until it was found. Simply above and beyond! I have never once seen this center in any shape other than impeccable cleanliness. It's amazing how well maintained it is. It has been a joy to watch our daughter flourish at this center. Children are able to work beyond their typical age level and explore at their own pace. At the same times, the teachers have special education back grounds so they are able to provide extra help and ideas for students who learn in different styles. Having ages 2.5 - 6 year old inthe same classroom fosters a love of learning and teaching in children. My son gets so much out of learning from children close to his own age rather than an adult. Montessori also prides itself on respecting the student and providing an environment where children learn to self direct and work independantly. Children learn to respect one another and take responsbility for their own learning. Independance is a key factor to Children's House. My 2 year does dishes on a regular basis, can sweep and mop floors, and even clean windows. These are all skills that I would not execpt of a 2 year old and yet Montessori has taught me that children are capable of doing all sorts of things for them selves. "I can do so many thing, all by myself" is sung regularly in the classroom. Contrary to popular thought, Montessori does expect children to learn certain age appropriate lessons. Instead of a typical classroom, the children are given work assignments (3 for example) but they have a choice of which to work and for how long. All that is expected is that at the end of the work period, they have worked on all 3. The children learn to self direct their learning and there is never a child sitting around "not doing anything." If a child is having a tough day, the teachers work hard to help them through it. The school also has Kindermsuik, a Library Reader, and even a Yoga instructor! The kids run their own garden in the spring and fall. They plant and take care of the garden themselves. It truly is a wonderul school. You should check it out!
