My daughter has been in this school for about a year now. She started at 2.5 years old. She was learning how to potty train and her teachers in her class said that they could keep assisting with potty training as long as I was doing it at home (underwear only) for 2-3 weeks. Thankfully, that helped her even more and learned fast. They also worked very well with her and was always learning new things, including playing with others. I was sad to change her classrooms due to her age because her teachers were great and very attentive! When she moved classrooms to the 3+ I saw that she was becoming more mature and continued learning with her peers. I love that they have many different activities and that they also let us parents be a part of, if possible. Another thing I LOVE .. is the parental portal. They are constantly sending updates or photos of the activities they do. The office also lets you know if anything happens ( even the smallest injury or if ill). I know sometimes it can be overwhelming with their calls if your child is a little more active. But I would 1000x more prefer them to be informing me, than to not inform me. I will be sad to see her leave this program because she has grown so much. read more

First of all my child did attend here, all the positive reviews you see here are because they are forced reviews. They make sure theres nothing but positive reviews here. Theres so much I can say. But the last teacher here was horrible, administration doesnt help. They also don't know but i kept in contact with a person who works there and i will say no names. Parents if you are planning to put your child here please DONT! They feed the children old food, they mistreat the kids. I am sad about the choice i made by having my kid here. My kid was never safe. Not a safe place‼‼‼‼ the person that also works here tells me this is a horrible place for children they dont care for the safety of the kids and are mistreating them. I am highly happy that i was referred to this daycare from the beginning I had such a sweet lady Lourdes help me with all my paper work. I really like the staff always so friendly. And my kids teachers are amazing Ms Cristina and ms Arely are amazing with the kids . I also like that they make homemade food something that alot of places don't have . I'm so happy that I found this school. I have had one of my daughters here for almost 2 years and my little toddler just started. It was very overwhelming for my 1 year old the first 2 weeks was crazy for us because it was such a big change for her from getting up super early due to my work hours to having a schedule at school and picking her up late but thanks to the staff and teachers they have really made her feel loved and welcomed. She now is very understanding that I'm dropping her off and is so happy to run into class with her other sister. The staff is very welcoming and attentive always looking out after the kids. It can be stressful getting calls sometimes because of my job but honestly I rather them be calling me when something occurred or if they're not feeling well to have them picked up. My older daughter has learned so much here and continues to grow. I love it here and I'm planning to keep them here as long as possible because they sure grow up too quick. This place is great, they've been such an unbelievable help. Being a single dad of 2 boys and needing all the help I can get they have made my life so much easier when it comes to the confusion of daycare. After previously having tried 2 different daycare locations that left me both broke and unsatisfied with the care my boys were getting, this place is the real deal. I love the faculty in the offices from the receptionists to the the people helping and guiding me through the process like Cynthia and Lourdes who have really gone above and beyond and I am forever grateful. And my boys' teacher/daycare watcher Sandra is amazing, my boys have learned so much and always have great things to say about their every day activities and lessons. At first I was glad he liked his school he had no issues, I believe it was within the next month of attending he was having problems. Receiving a call everyday to get picked up from school. As a single mother I don't really have much help if something like this happens. Any little issue they would have with him they would call me to pick him up. My son isn't the easiest but he's also a toddler. As a daycare worker/teacher they should be knowledgeable enough to know how to handle all sorts of situations and children. I realized they only want easy to deal with quiet kids. My son isn't quiet and he's very active. It's gotten to the point of me missing work just so I won't have to take him because it's uncomfortable taking my child to a place he isn't welcomed in. They also don't spend any one on one with children so that probably has him feeling overwhelmed not being able to be soothed when dealing with big emotions. I wish I would have done more research and read the reviews about this place. If your child is calm and quiet this place is great, if they're active and not as calm then I suggest finding another daycare. read more

I've had a good experience here with both my children. My son did great and his teachers were very supportive of him. My daughter came in at 2 years old and she wasn't really speaking, they helped her develop her speech and they potty trained her which was a plus. The teachers that my children have had were great and very caring. The office staff has GREATLY improved, I came in a couple years ago and it was terrible. This time around its been great. My son just transferred from an in home family service daycare to The learning center. He wakes up happy to go to daycare and when I pick him up he is also happy. My 3 yr old can be a little stubborn but I have no complaints from his teacher. His transition has been very smooth. Beatrice gives me great updates of his progress so far. The paper work they require can be a little tedious but I would fill out any paper work necessary to get the help and support I receive from this facility. They make it easy for me to hold my current job and made it helpful for me to find a job. The receptionist at the front is great and always has a smile. Gloria my case worker is very helpful as well and follows up quickly when I have left messages. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an awesome daycare. read more

But couldn't afford a daycare and went here with such excitement and for what? I've had a great experience at Kids 1st Learning Center. My caseworker Gloria has been so friendly & was really helpful with the whole enrollment process. My son really likes his teachers & has made lots of friends. I feel comfortable that he's in a safe environment & is learning a lot. My son has been attending since October. The first day was full of mixed emotions, his teacher assured me that he'll be okay and I was more than welcome to call to check on him. He cried just about everyday I dropped him off, but I was always assured that he was okay through out the day. 9 months later and my son has the biggest smile on his face when I drop him off and pick him up. His Teacher, teacher Anna always keeps me informed and updated on him, how he ate for the day and the fun activities he does. He comes home with a dry pamper EVERY TIME I pick him up. The staff is friendly and my case worker Yulie is amazing. My schedule has changed about 5-6 times and each time it changes the daycare requires paper work, as frustrating as it sounds Yulie was always polite & patient with me. Do not take your Children here. After hearing bad reviews from other parents, I should have listened but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I regret it. They constantly call you while you are at work (because they don't understand that we are WORKING parents.) They have sent my son home for "Pink Eye" when I picked him up, his eyes were white. They requested a doctor's note.. I took him to the doctor, the doctor asked why i brought him in for pink eye, I told her the school sent him home for pink eye.. She laughed historically and signed a note stating there was no sign of pink eye. Ridiculous! They called me for a potty accident and their way of handling it, is calling parents to pick their children up or bringing extra clothes. I went to my son, they had him in classroom with a blanket covering his bottom. Most schools have clothes the children can use meanwhile the parents come, Not the case at this school. All of the parents that told me not to come to this school were terminated for silly reasons, for holding their children in their arms while dropping them off.. The silly reasons go on and on. When enrolling, I told them that many parents I know were terminated, they stated that most parents are not good with the paperwork and that's probably why.. Funny that I believed them. No, this school can not handle parent's concerns.. Their answer to everything is to terminate child care. Every month, the staff go out and recruit for more parents to come to school. Why????? Because they can't keep any parents happy. They are incompetent. Instead of recruiting, they need to focus on improving their child care services. Not sure where to begin with this Review... Staff is rude, especially Evelyn, I hope for the sake of her kid on the way she changes that attitude and becomes more compassionate towards others. Very Fake and Transparent girl you are.. Yes, This school makes you jump through hoops to get enrolled there, and once your kids are enrolled, they call you for the dumbest things to pick up your child for "safety" protocol. You pay the full amount for the daycare services regardless of how many times you have to take your kid home early. The Daycare Service is not Free. Signs are Misleading and False.. While I'll admit the daycare services were affordable, BARELY, I still think the way the system makes their calculations and services charges is totally messed up! There is 1 teacher in the school who seems to genuinely love kids, Teacher Margarita, I believe is her name.. The rest of the teachers there are shady and questionable. Cynthia the school director is a classic High School Bully... She carries that personality around with her in all that she does, Not the best person to be a school Director if you ask me.. You better not have a Spirited Child at their school because they will not want to put up with any child that opens their mouth to talk, can't sit still, breathes, etc. They had my child transferred to a Home Provider because they couldn't "deal" with him. How can you not deal with a 3 year old? Why are you a Teacher then? Worst part about this school is they have random early Days and expect you to revolve your work and schedule around THEM. Their Job should be to help families work and earn money while providing much needed services to low income and struggling families not work a schedule that's convenient for them.. If you aren't able to remember the days your kids get off early, and aren't 100% attentive to the Schools Schedule, they take advantage of you, and notify you a half hour after your kid has already been sitting around waiting to be picked up by their unaware, busy, working Parent - They call you and ask you if you're picking up your Child, then they charge you 1$ per minute late per Child...which is completely MESSED UP (especially if you have more than one child attending there). Kids First - You should be either A) Calling the parents to remind them the day the school gets off early so they don't forget! or B) Calling the parent the minute after the school is "closed" so they can immediately rush over to pick up their child/ren... They expect you to be aware of their Schedules based off a Stupid laminated sheet of paper they hang around the school a whole week prior. GUESS WHAT, KIDS FIRST...We are Not ROBOTS. We are PARENTS with JOBS, and thousands of things we need to take care of throughout the day, YOU REALLY need to make more EFFORT to get it together as a Business/Education Center and help out the families that come to you instead of giving them/us a Hard Time. My daughter went here for a year and a half. She is extremely shy and has a hard time adjusting to new environments. When she came to this learning center, her transition went a lot better than I expected. She developed such close bonds with all her teachers and they made her feel comfortable and safe which is the most important thing for me. By far best decision I've made sending my daughter here. The staff was always so helpful and welcoming, they were attentive every step of the way. The teachers are all so caring my daughter felt welcomed from the beginning. They definitely prepared her giving her the knowledge to tackle the move to kindergarten. This is probably one of the hardest places to get your kid into school and probably one of the worst when it come down to be accepted. The staff is so rude this "Evelyn" lady is the worst of them all. First they make u do all kinds of things to get ur kid enrolled and they don't accept that your a single parent with no contact of the other parent they somehow still expect you to get a letter that states you aren't together and you don't get help. Also if they don't see u in uniform apparently you aren't working anymore that's so pathetic. My daughter have been going to this daycare for a lil bit over a year. Just last week, there was an out break of the chicken pox and the staff did not inform or notified parents about an out break or a possible out break. Come to find out, my daughter got the damn chicken pox due to negligence of the daycare staff of not mentioning anything of wats going on in the facility. What can I say it's a cute school they even have a huge turtle that my son loved. However back when I sign him up was a girl called Evelyn who's the rudest person. She honestly made everything so complicated and has no customer service. I wasn't getting it for free I was actually paying for it. Evelyn really has issues she lacks custome service skills. And I saw how she interacted with some kids and honestly she was very cold towards them. She was more into chitty chat with . Oralia the receptionist was nice. When my daughter turned 1 I decided to go back to school I signed her up and got approved (after so much paperwork) at first I loved it she was at an in house daycare the house she was in is amazing never a problem my daughter was happy to go. Well last week my daughter turned 3 and was supposed to go to the main school well a week later and she still hasn't been able to go because the person that was in charge of handling the paperwork didn't have time to see me before she turned 3 so she made me an appointment after she turned 3 so today she tells me that I need to get a doctor note because she has missed this week! Like if it was my fault. What doctor is gonna give a note for someone they didn't see in the first place. When I can't even take her because my paperwork isn't done yet! And on top of that if you have an appointment be prepared to be there for hours they come sit with you and then they get up leave and take forever to come back and help you out! What type of "free" daycare is this!! They need to know everything about you and if you are not with the other parent they are not allowed to pick up their child! Just because I'm not with the father doesn't mean my daughter is not allowed to see him! And they expect you to be at their office every time there is a change in your schedule and they want you to also see the future and predict your work schedule! read more

This is the best daycare I've taken my all my kids too. They learn so much that prepares them for their future learning education. I have 3 kids and my daughter the oldest is 20 she attended this kids first when she was 18months now she's goes to Csula and she's doing great. My second son is 14 years old and he also attended kids first and now he's taking all AP in high school. As a parent I wouldn't recommend this Learning Center to anyone. The staff specially the intake personnel, Evelyn, is poorly trained, very rude, and disrespectful. The student teacher ratio is 10 to 1 and I am aware that it is a state preschool and for low income families. I'm a single mother with a small child and I had one of the most frustrating and humiliating experience at this facility. Just because I paid a small fee doesn't justify them treating me the way they did. I nearly lost my job because almost every day they would call me to pick up my son for insignificant things. I had to leave my job early on a numerous occasions and they began to deduct hours from my paychecks. My services were terminated by Gloria because I didn't arrive within 15 minutes to pick up my child and because I asked her if someone else whom I was giving consent to could pick him up. She demanded I pick him up from school within the next 15 minutes or my services would be terminated. The reason for his dismissal of the day was because he had taken his shoes off in class. They try to justify their act by saying my son didn't adapt to the program, and I didn't comply with my responsibilities as a parent. I am very disappointed in the way some people can abuse their titles and think that because I am a low income mother I should be grateful and not complain. read more
