Super Kids Child Care Center - post

    Super Kids Child Care Center

    (1 review)

My son has been attending Super Kids Daycare in Statesboro for quite some time now. I have been…read morerealizing lately that I am having to bring in diapers more often then what they are documenting on his end of the day slips, which shows how many times they change him, when he eats, etc. We have an app that we communicate through and his teacher told me on the 9th that I needed to bring him in diapers. At the END of the day on the 9th, I brought him in 21 diapers. He was only there 3 days after I brought those diapers in and STILL hasn't been back due to being exposed to covid. They documented those 3 days that they changed him 3 times each day. 9 diapers should have been used. His teacher lets me know Monday that he will need more diapers. I call them on Monday to try to get to the bottom of why he would almost be out of diapers after not even being there. No call back. I call again today, frustrated at this point, and still no one could give me any answers so I asked the director and owner to call me back. She calls me back and basically let's me know that she can't explain why there would be missing diapers but doesn't offer a solution. I told her that I pay $160 a week and that I can't afford to supply diapers for other kids. I asked her for a refund for the registration fee I paid when I initially signed him up so I can enroll him somewhere else since this has been an ongoing problem. She refused. I told her that I was going to be writing her a review and she said "oh well, I've been open 20 years." Totally disrespectful and inconsiderate. I'm a single mother of two and if anything she should have gotten to the bottom of the problem. A simple "we will replace the diapers." Or " I will take $10 off this weeks dues." would have sufficed for me. But nope, no solution and no refund. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone after my experience.

Group class yay! This was supposed to be just a check in but somehow it deleted two of my reviews…read more Yawn! Yes, great group classes here. They have AOA or Active Older Adults, yoga, Pilates etc. But my favorite classes are Spin and Boxing. Those two support both physical and mental health as they require focus which I really need. Front Desk and other staff are generally very friendly and supportive. Manager is generally very supportive. Gym is laid out well with enough room to not feel claustrophobic an be safe. Restrooms are fair with lockers there and in main room. Shower is meh if you need that. This gym is focused on machines and heavy lifting equipment or free weights. I'd still love to see black lights in spin room to help with workout meditation. Also less dang volume in main room during classes. Many complain as we're older and can't hear ourselves think. And the class participants all shout at each other. It sends some into anxiety and we have to leave. I have noise cancelling EarPods but if we get an urgent call etc., it's disruptive. Beyond those, love the place and prefer over gyms in area.

I have been going to the Statesboro Y since moving from Charleston. The facility has all new…read moreequipment since being redone a few years ago, free weights, machines, and is a large open gymnasium. The staff are excellent, have daycare and the classes are a mix from Mui Thai, Boxing, Dancing, kids' classes, and the instructors are highly skilled. I decided to get some one on one weight training with Joel Toledo, he runs the Mui Thai and Boxing classes as well. The past 4-5 weeks have been a workout but increased 30+% in deadlift, bench and squat mostly by understanding having good form is the base to getting stronger, especially the 'core'. I also attend the boxing classes, is a mix of serious cardio but also learning the basics of how to box. Joel's instruction style is solid, he demo's the action, explains the why of it and then demo's again. No drama just excellent commination and good motivation. I cannot recommend the Y more. No other gym in town offers so much. And the monthly membership fee is a true bargain. If you are looking for a gym to get started at or your membership is expiring somewhere else, stop by, I think you will be really impressed, this is not your typical YMCA. Robert M.
