The main issue is selection as it's rather limited. If you want Scotch, Rye, Brandy or Cognac you're stuck with 1-2 brands or varieties. Surprisingly if you want beer you're also very limited--a case of Natty Lite or a 6 pack of modelo with very few things in between. For vodka, cheap wine, and staple bourbons you're good to go.

Kind of unfortunate and disingenuous given the location and clientele that frequent this area. And don't even get me started on the items that are on allocation. It's ridiculous how much they're marked up. You're better off buying them on the secondary market or going to larger stores like Total Wine or Frugal's.

This is not my favorite in the world, but it's my favorite in town outside of maybe the Froog…read more This is a place you can go and say "hey, I like such and such wine a year or two back" and usually get someone to give you a recommendation on what wines this year might be good. It's also a place I've walked in and asked "where's your cheap-ass mixing Sake at?" and gotten walked to a selection of cheap ass mixing sakes, which were near the less than cheap ass sakes. Prices are a little higher than the Froog, they're not warehouse sized so I'm guessing that's the issue as opposed to just wanting to charge more. Parking is in the Kroger parking lot, here we begin our negatives: This parking lot is not controlled by TLC, Kroger, anyone renting space. It's part of the Willowbrook Commons shopping center. The owners of this have it patrolled every now and then. It's become known as the Murder Kroger parking lot in the neighborhood after one murder and several shot up cars. While these were outliers, the parking lot is not safe and won't be until they get full time patrols for a few months to discourage this being the parking lot for illicit activities and several people claiming to be homeless or stranded (most of them work the area on a regular basis). As such I generally suggest you limit your unarmed or unarmored visits to the daylight hours until the center gets its security act together.

i quite like this wine and liquor store. i have been here many many times as it is on my way home…read more I have shopped both wine and liquor. The carry my favorite red wine at a decent price which is Jean Boscuet Malbec from Argentina. I have also been here to shop for margarita ingredients and the stuff was pretty helpful and knowledgeable about their products. They recently recommended that I buy El Mayor reposado tequila instead of Reposado Patron because it was much cheaper at a comparable quality and it turns out the guy was right. I was happy with my substitution. I usually don't ask the stuff to make wine recommendations as I don't trust them, and i believe I know way more about wine then they do but one of my friends have old me that he has got good recommendations from the stuff in this particular location. I am pretty happy with this place but i give them 4 stars because of their prices. The liquor and wines are not priced competitively. I have seen the same wine sold for cheaper at other locations. But hey, think about it, who's concerned about prices at Bell Meade !!!

I don't normally shop at this one, I usually go to RED's but I was short on time. This man had the AUDACITY to ask if I had anything in my bag. He said "you have anything" and pointed to my purse. He asked twice. He wasn't necessarily being aggressive, his tone was mainly inquisitive. HOWEVER: I was shocked and said no, and then he proceeded to ask to LOOK IN MY BAG. Never in my ENTIRE life has anyone accused me of stealing. Nor have I ever done so. Incredibly offended, I put my purse on the counter, pointed to my wallet, keys and tampons and said here ya go. He said "ok ok, I have to check" Then the other man working there walks up and casually asks me if it's cold outside. ‍‍ Why on EARTH he felt the need to check is beyond me. But they will not receive my business ever again.

While all aspects are standard, they do have something others don't...a freezer stocked with ready-made Italian meals - Who doesn't love a good lasagna to go with your whiskey! In addition to all the classic stuff, they have a small corner dedicated to THC and even cigars. So, a good variety outside the norm. And speaking of, they are well stocked on all the brands, local and major, that you are after. Service was friendly. The young fella at the register engaged us when we approached the counter, and chatted us up about FIFA as he rang us up. While this spot is convenient and well stocked, pricing here is a bit higher than other spots. Example being a bottle of Hendricks here is $48, while at other places it's around $36. Overall, decent spot. As long as you are aware about the pricing, then all good and a solid place to scoop up the boozy necessities.

Complete ripoff. He just shrugged his shoulders and said, well you're downtown. A tip screen also pops up that he quickly tapped for me before I could see it... I should have asked for a printed receipt. Buyer beware!

To establish my credentials as a liquor store critic, please know I was basically raised in the…read moreinternational league of bad decisions. I grew up between the Middle East and Europe, which means by now I've bought alcohol in enough suspicious places to qualify for a documentary. I've survived liquor stores in random Arab countries, sketchy neighborhoods in Paris, and enough gas station adjacent bottle shops across America to know good service when I see it. I'm not technically middle aged, but spiritually I am a divorced 47 year old man named Greg who just wants a decent bottle of red and one pleasant human interaction. I've been coming here for a hot minute, and honestly most of the staff are absolute gems. The whole crew is usually warm and kind, especially the Indian folks whose names I shamefully never remember, and Jamie, and the tall queer glass of water man(slay queen) .Truly a beacon of customer service. But recently, management seems to be conducting a fascinating social experiment. They hired a woman whose entire customer service style feels like she lost a bet. She's not aggressively rude, which almost makes it worse. It's this deeply unsettling, passive borderline hostile vibe where she asks, "Do you happen to have your ID?" with the energy of someone accusing me of tax fraud, while I am already halfway through opening my wallet like a man presenting classified documents. Please. I carry three forms of ID, like I'm prepared for international travel, jury duty, and a background check(i really do carry more than one ID). No smile. No hello. No tiny shred of human warmth. Just the expression of someone who has seen the end of joy and wants me to see it too. Every interaction feels like I personally interrupted her from doing something vastly more important, like staring at a wall. It's happened three or fours times now, which officially makes it a pattern and not just "maybe she's having a bad day." At this point, walking in and seeing her behind the register feels like accidentally selecting hard mode on a video game I never agreed to play. Or like exposure therapy designed by someone who hate me, and forced me to it by a court order. Today I genuinely almost turned around and left when I saw her. Luckily Jamie appeared like a customer service guardian angel and saved the day yet again. If she's working next time, I'm turning around so fast the door chime will think it hallucinated me. Shopping here when she's on shift feels less like buying liquor and more like volunteering for an emotional hostage situation. Update4/16/2026: In a shocking and deeply satisfying plot twist, management actually fixed the problem. I don't know what happened behind the scenes, but whatever it was deserves a case study and possibly a small award. The vibes have been restored. Balance has returned to the universe. I can once again purchase alcohol without feeling like I'm being psychologically evaluated. Major credit to the management team for clearly paying attention and taking action. That alone puts this place in the top tier of liquor stores I've emotionally survived. Jimmy and jamie should run the country with this quick action and response. WOW Still a loyal customer. Still spiritually Greg. Will absolutely be back (already did actually)
