When I arrived with my husband, the "photographer" (the only employee there) was finishing up with the last clients. We patiently waited and about 25 minutes after our appointment time, she finally got us started. Obviously, this is not a professional photography. I knew that I'm going in for the basic photo hoping to get at least a good shot or two of my big belly. They have set poses that the "photographer" memorizes for these shoots, nothing at all creative nor accommodating the circumstance, people, personality, and clients' wishes. After shooting with a tag sticking out of my sports bra, my husband noticed it. She made no effort whatsoever to fix those previous shots since she didn't catch such a remedial mistake. That already pissed me off on top of being so hot under the light 9 months pregnant. She had no clue as to who/how we are so she proceeded with those typical "couple" poses, holding each other, staring into each other's eyes, sort...GAG... After most of the shots taken that way, I've had enough and told her ALL I WANTED WAS A FOCAL SHOT OF MY BELLY so could you take at least a few of those as I requested??? She used up the last few shots for those and we got to see them and agree on each shots. Had we known she's just shooting away using up our frame limit on those VOMIT poses, we would have told her what we will do as poses before she forced her SO uncreative, SO not who we are type of poses! Well, we've never gotten any photos taken at a studio so we know now. Especially if we are just going to a cheap studio where a "photographer" just sits there and presses the button to take the required number of shots, we need to be prepared and KNOW EXACTLY WHAT POSES WE WANT. Then came the sales. WHO ARE YOU KIDDING? I've been born to sell and have been great at it. You can't up-sell me! She described in detail how awesome the total (big) package is and then goes "how does that sound?" To that, I replied, "it doesn't sound like anything, what about all these other options you haven't mentioned?" She failed to explain any of the other more economical options and just pointed to the print out and said "this is the description of those options"...lame. Then another typical up-selling technique...go over each picture and have you tell her if you like it or not. Knowing there is a limit to number of selections we can make with the package we are buying, I asked to show us the whole collection so that we can go by process of elimination. Not used to catering people who knows what they want, she kept pushing going one by one (that way we'll exceed the limit and end up buying more prints)... got pissed off again and I told her "I'm going to do it the way I'm telling you to do okay?". Anyways, we got through the painful process of selecting the photos and the best news was that even though we had a coupon for 30% off, because we're in military, we got 50% off all purchase. Another note for the buying process. When she's creating collages, speak up your thoughts as to which photos and which collage you want and how. She will breeze through that process in about 2 minutes according to whatever she likes without asking you a single input. She made one nice collage however, I hated the three others she made. Had she asked us for what picture, where, what words/names, etc. we would probably have bought some more of those fancy ones. That's their loss. Just remember, you pay cheap, you'll get cheap. So if you decide to go this way, make the most out of it by knowing EXACTLY what you want and how you want it. You have to be the director or they will just breeze through your appointment like you're just one of her chores.
