It doesn't matter if you don't speak german, because so far my bravery and curiosity has only led to new culinary highlights. I highly recommend the salads, but beware, they're nothing like the usual european salads we're used to. Food marked with pikant (spicy) and scharf (hot) should be ordered with care, because it can be very hot indeed. Most of the main courses are accompanied by different vegetables which aren't meantioned in the menu, and a sufficient amount of rice. Unlike other asian restaurants the vegetables aren't overcooked, and the meal itself isn't overspiced or full of fat. In my opinion one of the best restaurants Darmstadt has to offer.

When you taste a Hacenda taco, though, you're going to be transported to a place bathed in sun. I like to go here when there's a lot of snow on the ground, just to escape. I recommend the nachos, the hard tacos, and, believe it or not (even sans Bleu cheese dressing), the hot wings! And, if you drink, the margheritas are also super tasty and bound to make you soar.

We had been regular customers for a couple of months now and it was always a pleasant experience…read morebut yesterday was just the worst. Don't know if the waitress was just having a bad day but in general she had a really bad attitude against us (maybe she thought students don't have the money to pay for a buffet?), the restaurant closes at 15.00 for a midday pause and the buffet at 14.30 but at 14.00 she was already trying to kick us out...and just us, there were other tables occupied and we never saw her asking them to leave and after we paid she just threw my friends card across the table like some kind of garbage and didn't even apologise. Also food is usually pretty good but 2 out of 3 people ended up vomiting the whole night and with stomach ache and the other one spent almost the while night sitting on the toilet. So yeah maybe we just had bad luck in general yesterday but that's it for us, we're never returning there and not going to recommend it to anyone.

The cafe has a lovely patio area full of wooden tables and shade umbrellas, and staff will bring your orders to you there. The menu offers a variety of paninis, coffee drinks, and wine. I opted for a housemade lemonade, which came in a big wine glass and made me feel very cosmopolitan as I sipped on a sunny day. We wanted to order the caprese panini, as this is my companion's favorite, but it was sold out-- which goes to show how popular and delicious an item it is. We opted for a pepper and cheese focaccia, which was a great substitute. The service was good and the ambiance of outside was very nice. There's a neat wine shop attached, and we stopped in another day to pick up a couple of bottles as well.

Super, super slow. Waited 20 minutes for water and the waiter asked if I wanted bread only after my…read morepasta arrived. When the waiter found I only spoke English he made a clearly insulting comment to the table next to me-there facial expressions said it all. I should add, once he established I didn't speak German he didn't speak to me again, just the people on either side of me who could translate. I ordered penne pasta spicy and it was spicy and delicious, a tad too el dente for me but still a great dish. When I ordered I also placed an order for take away pizza. In spite of multiple assurances the pizza was 10 minutes more it never came. After close to two hours from entering the restaurant I had enough, paid my tab-pizza and all- and left (with no pizza). I am convinced the pizza order was never placed and the waiter was just jerking me along. So, If you are German go for it, if not stay far far away, they don't want your business and don't hide the fact.
