This place was absolutely disgusting. The restaurant was filthy and so were the bathrooms. The bathrooms didn't have toilet paper OR soap. The doors didn't close all the way or lock. The floors were gross to say the least. Used gloves were left on the diaper changing table. Not to mention, the staff was RUDE. Hardly said anything to us and when she did talk she gave us a very welcoming death stare. The very reasons I don't go to Taco Bell/KFC's anymore. They're trash. We didn't get any food because we got tired of being ignored and walked out. I took my son there to get something to eat and when we walked in the place was empty except for several workers behind the counter. The guy at the register walked away as soon as he saw us coming in the door. He didn't return, even after another worker said he had a customer at the counter. From there we heard and saw several workers in the back joking around, cussing and being unprofessionally loud like they were at a party instead of work. I made eye contact with at least a couple of them and they clearly saw us standing there but continued to ignore us. I told my son the food there wasn't worth the absolute disrespect we received from those workers. I have a feeling I know exactly why we were treated so badly but I'm not allowed to say it on here. We walked out and went to the KFC in Forest which had no problem treating us like valued customers. This wasn't the first time I've had a bad experience with Newton KFC but it is the first time I've been angry enough to write a review. Don't go to Newton KFC if you expect to be treated equally regardless of how pale your skin color might be. They will treat you like dirt and expect you to take it. 20 minutes for cold, poorly prepared food. After more than half the day driving we didn't even finish our meal. Portions are sparse compared to TB/KFCs I have visited in other parts of the country. I have never written a review for a fast food place, but since others do, and since I am hoping the franchise owner reads this, and can have a positive influence on the declining quality of fast food workers, I am writing this review. (And, these are the people who want $15.00 an hour.) During a recent trip, I was in the mood for something fast, but not a burger. We tried KFC in Newton, MS. The attendant behind the counter made a gross appearance. She was totally unfriendly and completely unhelpful. My wife and I were trying to figure out what kind of chicken and what the sides were in a new boneless offering. She had no comment to make until I asked her and then it was curt as if she was just there, but not there to do her job. I am rating this restaurant on the basis of the food only. If you add the "help" into the equation, it would get a negative star rating. I liked the chicken even though it was too salty and even though I really prefer crispy fried chicken the very few times that I eat it. I also liked the potatoes and gravy as well as the coleslaw. Now, the potatoes are instant as is the gravy at KFC, but it reminds me of my childhood visits, so I like them. The coleslaw, while it seems to be mass-produced at a central location, is my favorite coleslaw. The dicing produces the perfect size cabbage and carrots, and, the dressing is not mayonnaise-heavy. It is a little sweet and, I think, the best cole slaw commercially available. My wife had the bites and fries. She said the chicken was greasy and salty and the fries were mushy, salty and just awful. She will not go back with me. The clientele and all the workers spoke some form of English that was unintelligible to me. There was a constant banter of this talk in loud voices such that the experience was unpleasant and threatening. I would go to KFC again, but never this one. Management needs to be more selective and more demanding. This kind of riff raff drives business away permanently. read more

Kentucky Fried Chicken and Freedom of Speech Our freedom of speech and expression is protected under the first amendment of the constitution of these United States of America. On Sunday, October 16th, 2016, my spouse and I were traveling through Newton, Mississippi, when we decided to take a lunch break. The restaurant we drove through was a Kentucky Fried Chicken/Taco Bell franchise at 289 East Side Drive. The food was unacceptable and the employees were disgusting, in my opinion. I did call the KFC/TB customer service number and register a complaint about the entire incident. My husband did get some kind of food poisoning from their grilled chicken and other food we had ordered. After arriving at our home from a 14 hours car trip, we had to spend another five hours in the hospital emergency room having multiple test preformed on my spouse. The floors on that Newton, Mississippi KFC/TB at 289 East Side Drive, were dirty and sticky, and there was no janitor on duty keeping the floors clean and there was not one hostess or employee assigned to wash the tables and chairs down with bleach or a disinfecting cleanser after they were used. The cooks and other kitchen help did not wear hairnets or coverings and they wore no hand coverings that I could see, to protect the food from their body hair and oils. No pleasant attitudes were displayed at the Kentucky Fried Chicken/Taco Bell franchise at 289 East Side Drive, for the "Christmas Grinch" was working everywhere in my opinion. The manager on duty was a happy go luck, laughing at every customer complaint person. They were a dishonest and cowardly spirited person, in my opinion. The manager on duty could not speak up and address the issue when I registered multiple complaints about the place. What was really brazen is that the manager on duty refused to present them self when I asked to speak to that person, and their uniform could not have been anymore outstanding, a red top while everyone else had on black. Giggling and walking back and forth while shaking their head, the manager had a cook take the complaint. How deceitful and dumb is that? I must say the workers are taking their lead from the real restaurant manager because called my house to justify the actions of his staff in a very unprofessional way. He took great pride in calling me by my first name and giggling as he addressed me on the telephone. Such unprofessional ways do not belong in the public's eye or the eyes of their paying customers in my opinion. Do not waist your money and time at that franchised KFC/TB. The manager does not care how his team reacts to the clients and the team followers their leader who is the manager. My husband could have died in his sleep of food poisoning but I was intelligent enough to get him to the regional hospital immediately when his cramping and regurgitating commenced. read more

I haven't even eaten my food yet but I am a bit skeptical to eat anything from this place, it is dirty and gross. One of the slowest drive thru experiences you will ever have to endure. If you are not a patient person don't go! They get the order correct about 50% of the time, very rarely have large cups or pretty much whatever it is I am wanting, one night they informed me they were out of potatoes. If there were more options in Newton we would never go here. read more

8/6/17-- our church was having out Annual Homecoming Program, of which-- they ordered well in advance over 100 pieces of chicken-- approx 125 to be more specific. Upon arriving, our representative was told that the food was not ready, and when he expressed TO his disappointment, the clerk told hime "she didnt take the order". THERE WERE PEOPLE WAITING TO BE FED... HE HAD TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR--WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICILOUS.... on 8/7/17-- i called and spoke to the Manager at this location for her to likewise shift the blame.. her statement was "well, she had to leave, there had been death in the family." Thou, i am definitely sympathetic of her loss-- my question to her was that the order was pre-submitted and this was a business-- someone else should have been notified and business as usual.. She apologized, and for the most part it was an OH WELL.. Mind you, this is the second time this has happened-- LAST YEAR THIS TIME.. the same scenario. I decided to voice the complaint this time. So, the Managers response about last year was "I Didnt Work There Last Year". Ok, so i then asked for the next person in the chain of command.. she gave me the number, so i called him (Terry) and again expressed how disappointing their service is in that location.. He asked me a few question and i answered them all.. Finally, his resolution was "the next time we order something to call him and he will make sure it is completed timely." LONG PAUSE.. My response again was about how highly disappointing this was and that we werent planning on a next occassion, I planned on pursuing contacing Corporate with a further complaint.. LONG PAUSE.. i HUNG UP.. This man called me back screaming and yelling telling me he called me in good faith to resolve the situation and that he need to call the church to let them know how difficult i was being??!!! --as if i would be embarrassed to tell him my Church information-- (i'd done nothing other than strongly express our dissatisfaction) i gladly told him the church name and he continued to rant on yelling and trying to out talk.. basically trying to get me angry.. I laughed at him and hung up the phone again.. But, this is basically the type of attitudes received now from this location, especially within the past year or so.. Ive had my own problems from other occassions.. but at least the managers handled them professionally.. ALSO, THIS STORE IS NOTORIUS FOR TAKING THE PHONE OFF THE HOOK--THERE IS NO WAY A PHONE SHOULD STAY BUSY FOR HOURS.. I recently visited this business and found the quality of the food lacking the true Colonel quality. The chicken lacked flavor, totally. It was too greasy, and the personnel were rude and somewhat uncooperative. I have often stopped at this location after attending Church in the area, but have never experienced the low degree of flavor and quality of service. The person serving did not ask my preference of chicken, but just served me the same type of chicken as the person in front of me. Quite a few times that I have been in this particular KFC there has always been a messy counter, where the tea is served; always wet and none of the counter help ever takes the initiative between serving to make sure the area is properly kept. It makes you wonder how sanitary the place is kept and how safe the food is for consumption. read more
