The chicken has a lot of breading and is severely over cooked on many pieces. Any piece that wasn't overcooked tasted great. The breading has good flavor. The fries need SALT; add salt before eating. The skin - arguably the best part of fried chicken - was nicely seasoned, and tasted similar to KFC in flavour and style. The crispness of Korean fried chicken is king in my opinion, but this old school style certainly has its place. I am glad that we had it on location, as time and steaming in its own heat would not do it any favours. I always enjoy the concept of crinkle cut fries, but the execution is often a mixed bag. Lick-a-Chick's were somewhere in the middle - not soggy and disappointing, but not crispy enough to be particularly memorable either. Just a decent, average fry that made for a good gravy-delivery-system. Long standing institutions like Lick-a-Chick are still here for a reason, providing tasty treats at reasonable prices, and becoming a part of the community that they serve.
