The mashed potatoes smelled like ass. Never again. The chicken was rough and chewy. All of Huntsville food sucks.

Maybe because it's so new, but the restaurant was very clean. Employees were friendly and food hot and tasty

Word of Mouth Foods - Three "Sohlrolls" - Philly cheesesteak, pizza, and southwestern chicken

This is a unique little business. Word of Mouth Foods operates out of a small, nondescript…read morebuilding on Meridian Street along with several other eateries: Big John's BBQ, Vujee Vegan, and others. There's no space to eat in; you order online on ToastTab and your food is either brought out to you or you're instructed to come around to the drive through window. It's honestly very fast and simple and easy. ToastTab is user friendly, prices and menu descriptions are clear, and I for one am happy to just use a drive through, lol. I wanted to try this place out because they have a specialty: fancy egg rolls, which they brand as "Sohlrolls." All kinds of delicious combinations stuffed in a super large, flaky egg roll. These aren't the sad, anemic egg rolls you'd get at Chili's, though. They're thick and chunky. Three is plenty for a meal, which is exactly what I had. There are multiple flavors to choose from, but I tried the Philly cheesesteak, the southwest chicken, and the pizza. Each egg roll has a different colored marker that goes with a correspondingly colored mark on your to-go container so you can figure out which is which before you bite into them. A nice touch. My favorite was the southwest chicken, and my least favorite was the pizza, though I liked them all! The southwest was loaded with corn, beans, and tender chicken pieces. The Philly was yummy, too -- tasted just like a Philly, and they didn't skimp on the beef at all. In fact, I could've used a little more cheese and less beef! But that's just me. The pizza one tastes like pizza but is way crispier and has sausage, pepperoni, and bacon inside, along with cheese and tomato sauce. I could do without the sausage on this one, but that's more a personal thing that anything else. The sauces that came with them were just okay. The queso I selected for the southwest egg roll was cold - like, just came out of the fridge level cold, which was a bummer. I assumed the pizza sauce would be marinara, but it was actually ranch -- fine by me, but an FYI for others. The chipotle "crack" sauce was a mildly spicy, somewhat thin red sauce. I do wish some napkins or something had been stuffed in the bag, as I ate my food in the car and the Philly roll was so juicy it squirted all over me. I didn't have a napkin for my hands until I got back to work. However, ultimately the food was pretty good. It was ready on time and the man who called me to ask me to pull to the drive through and who passed my food to me was very pleasant. This business is definitely worth a try for anyone who likes egg rolls. I've heard they also offer chicken and seafood pasta bowls on certain days; check out their social media to find out when.

A lot of reviews refer to this place as having a buffet, but that isn't technically correct - they have a food bar but limit you to one plate/visit. It is very clear on the menu and my wife confirmed this with a server. Everywhere we looked there seemed to be people doing multiple trips so that was kind of weird. It was very hot inside - not sure if the AC was on the fritz or they were just catering to the older crowd but everyone in my party commented on it. Wife and kids got the food bar and I ordered a club sandwich off the menu. They serve Pepsi products here. My wife was pretty happy that they had turkey, fried chicken and ham available plus a lot of the usual southern food sides available (rolls, corn, green beans, cornbread, stuffing, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes etc). They want everyone visiting the food bar to wear gloves while serving food which is weird but I'm fine with that. There was one server for our entire side of the restaurant and I feel like she did a good job and was hustling- she served food poured drinks and bussed tables. The food... the food was below average. Just going to be honest here. The fried chicken had a very good breading that was pretty salty. The rest of the food was extremely bland and lacked flavor. All of the negative reviews for this restaurant usually point this out. They have a very loyal crowd of regulars it seems, but the food was bland. The mashed potatoes was bland and was the consistency of powdered potatoes. Idahoan instant mashed potatoes beat these easily. Mac n cheese was ho-hum, turkey was bland, etc. The wild rice was awful and lacked any sort of salt or.flavor. The corn bread is the unsweetened variety that is super dry. Honestly the only good thing we had was the fried chicken. My club was OK. They had a lot of meat in it, but the meat was hot which was unexpected. It looked good and had bacon which was nice, just tasted plain to me. I will probably come back and give it another shot someday, but honestly it feels like mostly institutional food in a hot restaurant with odd rules.

Buffet is small, but what's there is delicious, fried catfish and pork chops are delicious.read more
