Her family doctor here suggested a visit to an orthopedist who showed us the arthritis in her knees had progressed to "bone -on-bone". After a cortisone shot and gel shot with no improvement, a dear friend suggested "her doctor's" practice. We met Dr. Joseph Noah and he advised total knee replacement for both knees. We opted for one at a time and now one year after arriving here, my sister's legs are straight and she is walking unassisted. The walker is retired!! I would seek assistance from Dr. Joseph Noah for any orthopedic issue and I would recommend him and his incredibly efficient and caring office staff to ANY member of my family or ANY of my friends. I'm 100% satisfied with the care I receive. As a final note the nurses, MAs, PAs, are out of this world. They can answer almost anything you need to know, and often do yet they still bring it up to the Dr. for the final word. I couldn't relax with the chatter.. I would suggest perhaps they play some native American flute music or nature sounds during the procedure... and conduct interviews at another time. While in pre-op I was visited by my anesthesiologist, Doctor Reiss, a nurse anesthetist who explained what his part was going in my procedure and answering all questions. Upon arrival in the operating room, I was greeted by least 4 nurses. My nurse anesthetist was there again explaining what he was doing and lights out. The floor nurse was great. However, I was never provided with any written information explaining what a partial denture is, how it would fit, or the potential risks and side effects. From my very first appointment, I clearly informed the office that I have a severe gag reflex. Despite this, the partial was still recommended without any documentation or discussion of how this condition might impact my ability to tolerate the device. Because I could not proceed with the partial due to my known gag reflex, the doctor then recommended a bridge. Again, I was not provided with any written disclosures outlining risks or possible complications associated with this procedure. During the bridge preparation, my tooth was shaved down excessively, which appears to have irritated the nerve. As a result, I have been experiencing ongoing pain for several months. When I returned to have the procedure completed, I was presented with disclosure forms to sign, after the work had already been started. I was not comfortable signing these documents at that stage. As a result, the dentist refused to complete the treatment. I am now left with an incomplete bridge procedure that is causing me ongoing pain, without resolution or completion of care.
