The streets were under construction, the air was filled with the scent of progress, and I was just trying to figure out where to park without committing a minor traffic violation. Enter: Alyssa, front desk superhero and honorary valet ninja. We called in confusion, and before I could even hang up the phone, she had teleported across the street, helped us with our luggage, checked us in, made our dinner reservations, and whisked our car away like a parking fairy godmother. I half expected her to leave behind a trail of glitter. We stayed in the Tack Room, which I can only describe as what would happen if a luxury spa and a Pinterest board had a baby. The bed? So comfortable I briefly considered faking an injury to stay longer. My husband, a mattress snob of the highest order, literally pulled back the sheets to investigate the brand. (We have a fancy mattress at home. This one made it look like a pile of hay.) Midnight snacks? Oh, they thought of that. Chocolate bars, pretzels, drinks--including beer--all waiting like little edible hugs. The bathroom? Spa-like bliss. My husband beat me to the tub, and I'm still not over it. Breakfast via room service was divine. Pro tip: get the Spicy Cowgirl coffee--it's like a warm hug from a caffeinated cowgirl with a kick. When it was time to leave (tragically), we came downstairs to find our car already pulled up, loaded with our Merc haul (yes, I blacked out and bought half the store). The Boarding House manager--whose name I forgot because I waited a month to write this--was just as amazing. She answered all my questions like it was her first time hearing them, not her thousandth. Bottom line: If you're in Pawhuska and don't stay here, you're doing it wrong. This place isn't just a hotel--it's an experience. From the website, we saw that the cabin had a full Kitchen, a Jetta two-person whirlpool as well as a stand-up Shower. My wife was excited to see that it also advertised a pillow-top King Bed. There was also a Chiminea, with firewood included, a private lakeside Patio with table and chairs, and a private jetty to fish from. All in all, it looked promising, and we hoped it would meet even half of our expectations. Boy were we wrong - it absolutely exceeded them in every single way! Before we even arrived, the hosts reached out to welcome us and let us know how to get into the cabin, and to offer anything extra we wanted - we just needed to ask. We arrived at 7pm, having driven for 4 hours, and then realized that we were an hour past the deadline to let them know we wanted breakfast. I called the hosts number just on the off chance, and they totally made us feel welcome and that it was not a problem that we had asked for them to arrange breakfast for the next day 1 hr. after the deadline. We got out the car and walked around the corner of the cabin to be greeted by the wonder of our private patio literally right on the edge of the lake. After oohing and ahhing at the phenomenal view and standing on our private jetty looking down into the water and spotting the fish, we walked up to the door of the cabin and opened it. Entering the cabin, we were immediately refreshed by the wonderfully cool AC (it was 93 outside). The bed was set against the wall in such a way that when you lie on it with the front door open (totally private still, as the cabin is set well away from the other 2 cabins on site, with the door on the opposite side to them), you can enjoy the remarkable lake view. An absolute treat, but it lets the AC out and the hot air in! On the pillow was a handmade card wishing my wife happy birthday (the hostess was clearly listening to me when I booked the cabin) and wishing us a pleasant stay. Also next to the bed was a welcome basket with snacks, and the ingredients for some Smores, which you can make over the fire in the Chimnea. After this, we headed straight to the bathroom to check out the whirlpool. It was exactly what we had hoped, and over the course of the weekend, we spent a LOT of time relaxing and reading in it, bubbles soothing on the skin, and providing a pleasant background burble of white noise, which enhances the sense of privacy and intimacy. Exploring further, we found a coffee table book about the history of Tulsa, and a folder with all the local attractions listed and recommendations of where to eat - very useful for us out of towners! I'll end this wall of text saying the drive / walks around the lake are beautiful, every single person we met was extremely warm and helpful, breakfast arrived at the time it was promised (although because of Covid, we didn't have the opportunity to dine in the dining hall). We highly recommend Meadow Lake Ranch as a wonderful, private, and romantic place to stay if you are looking for a comfortable cabin with spectacular views in a peaceful, tranquil setting, with thoughtful, warm and welcoming hosts.

We had so much fun and from driving up to the very hugs goodbye, our hosts and proprietors, Cheryl and Stan were warm and welcoming. They are the perfect couple to run a cute place like this because they are friendly and true ambassadors of the little town. They go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and have all the amenities you need. Cheryl even heard that my mom has trouble walking so she shifted accommodations for us when we reserved a month out so that my mom would not struggle with stairs. They invited us to church and we're always checking when we arrived back that we are enjoying our stay. Our room was quaint, cozy, yet spacious and the large king bed was so comfortable! We wanted to buy the decorations as they were so cute and made you feel like you were staying Osage cowboy and Indian country. I highly recommend this place to stay as it overlooks the town on a top of the hill and yet is quiet and peaceful too. I was able to sit on the back porch in the morning writing postcards and reading my Bible. Next time I'm in the area, I'll be staying there again. Go and get an authentic small town experience with the friendliest people around!

The Hampton Inn has so far been the the best commercial chain that I've stayed in that's close to the main part of town. The hotel has been completely remodeled. The rooms are clean, open, spacious. Same for the bathrooms. Refrigerator and microwave too, though no freezer. Nice guest laundry. Large business center. I like the online check-in and being able to choose my room in the app. The beds aren't as soft as I would like, but they are softer than the Hilton Garden Inn. Open breakfast area, small pantry, plenty of parking, and right next to a large gas station with plenty of snacks and drinks. Several associates have stayed here too, and agree. Because of the "downtown" location near local restaurants and parks, I'm going to give the Hilton Garden Inn one more try, but if it isn't any better this time around, the Hampton will probably be my go to when working here.

We were making a drive to central U.S. and back out west. This is a very nice place. Parking lot is well lit, staff is ready to help where they can and very customer oriented.
