I want to start by saying that I have deep respect for Matt and Amanda because the two of them are extremely knowledgeable and very dedicated to their work. Because of their personal reputations I explored using their firm, however, the phone calls were initially not answered, then finally someone answered the phone and proceeded to tell me to first buy a $1500 online course, followed by a $4500 "package" which includes only an hour call with Amanda. Basically after $6000 upfront, you get to talk to the CPA. I'm baffled by whether this is a CPA firm or they are a digital education firm? Very confused. Needless to say, their business model is confusing, and I'm not sure I find value in $6000 of "stuff", when just need CPA services. read more

My husband and I have known Matt and Amanda for many years. They founded and own the Best CPA firm we've ever known and we highly recommend them to everyone in real estate investing! read more

I'll be honest, I was nervous to call Amanda and Matt at first, but I setup the initial consultation with Ivy. She was fantastic. She made me feel so at ease and our 15 minute introductory call turned into an hour of just great conversation! When we finally connected with Amanda, it was like being reacquainted with an old friend. She's honest, hardworking and KNOWS HER STUFF! We ended up hiring them for tax strategy for our real estate investments as our current CPAs were giving us questionable advice. She took one look at our tax returns and showed how she was going to be able to save us big money. Ever since working with Keystone, they have been just fantastic. Very quick and responsive and having great insights and ideas. Sadly, they probably understand my business better than I do, at this point. They've put us in a position where we are poised for growth and set themselves up to be a linchpin in our operation. If you are a real estate investor, you definitely want to have a CPA firm that understands what you do. These are those guys and they've become the most essential part of our team! read more

We have had the pleasure of taking the Keystone Strategic Tax Savings Program and have worked Amanda on some real estate tax planning. First the Strategic Tax Savings program: The course is laid out very well, with weekly bite-sized topics. Each week there is a series of videos and handouts. Also, there is a weekly live Q&A with Matt and Amanda. These have been amazingly valuable. I would say this is one of the best online courses I have taken. I've learned a lot that will help me save money on taxes and also structure my real estate business advantageously. We also have had some consultations by email and phone with Amanda on our specific situation. She answered our questions in such a detailed way that we are actually very relieved after speaking with her! She allowed us to make some informed decisions that up until that discussion, we were unsure about. My wife and I cannot endorse Keystone enough. They have really helped us save money and avoid pitfalls. read more

My experience with Keystone CPA has been wonderful so far. Ivoiré has been wonderful for taking the time to engage in conversation and continues to follow up. Great educational content provided as well. read more

Great experience so far with Keystone CPA. I would like to specifically highlight Ivoire Young who generously spent about an hour to chat with me to understand my financial situation, hear what I would like to accomplish with my near term and long term goals, share her own experiences, and recommend potential solutions for me to partner with Keystone. Ivoire is genuinely caring and articulate. It is evident to me that she truly enjoys her work & her colleagues, and represents the firm very well. read more

Friendly but there were issues getting in touch as well as receiving documents. I don't know if the new conference call standard is to have the prospective client call, but I missed that on the inquiry call. I didn't realize I was supposed to contact them. I sent an email following up and apologizing and asked why they didn't reach out to me when they didn't hear from me. We rescheduled and they would call me. It was supposed to be a 30 min call, but they called 27 minutes late so we talked for under a minute. They offered a free document I could read up on, but it took 2 months to send the link. I had already moved on at that point. Hopefully the service would improve if you actually became a client because from my experience, I would definitely NOT recommend their services. They are either too busy or just don't seem to care. read more

I was with this company since 2013 then had some personal issues last year that prevented me from working with them. I asked Amanda in January if they've already sent the Agreement/Engagement Letter for me to avail their services. She said I should receive it in two to three weeks. I did not receive anything so I e-mailed her again then just told me that she did not realize that I am not in the roster anymore since they did not do my previous year taxes. She said they are in capacity and will not be able to help with my taxes this year, flat out. I would like to thank them for the number of years that they've helped me file my taxes with no problems. I would like to thank them more for turning me down without any option. Because of that I found a company who even though I am new and already late in their calendar filing gave me different options to avail their services. It is a well respected company with more professional CPAs and fees are hundreds less than Keystone. I was devastated when they turned me down as I thought I was valued more than a business income. read more

While I am very reticent about giving 1 stars (and have written only a few of them) this place truly deserves it. I bought their book and heard them on a podcast - bigger pockets so I was looking forward to hiring them. I had set up a "virtual appt" at their request for 2 weeks out. I was to call to Ivoire at promptly 11:00am, I did so, but just got VM. I left a message asking her to return my call or at least let me know how late she's running.....still never heard from her. Clearly they don't need the business because any company that does a "no show" or a "no cancel" doesn't appreciate their customers. As a busy professional - I make a point of respecting other peoples time as I know how important mine is.Unfortunately they rec'd a lot of publicity from BP's podcast and haven't been able to keep up with the demand. Would not recommend - as important as taxes are - I wouldn't want to chance the lack of follow-through. read more

Don't waste your time. After hearing Amanda on the Bigger Pockets podcast (she sounded very knowledgeable), I wanted to give Keystone a try. I have tried 3 times to set up an appointment. They do NOT even pick up their phone during business hours. I have called several times over the course of 3 weeks and have never reached a live person. They prompt you to leave a message which I did 3 times and have still not received a call back. Save yourself some time and frustration and move on. Any business who treats people like this will probably end up jacking you anyway. read more

I've been using Keystone CPA to both plan my tax strategy and do my taxes (business and personal) for the last several years, and could not be more happy about the team there. Between cost segregation help, 1031 exchange help, and just general tax strategies, I'm sure I've saved hundreds of thousands in taxes, and will continue to do so! I contacted Keystone recently and I had a great conversation with Ivoire. She went over some of the services they provide and emailed me some educational material FREE of charge. I look forward to working with Keystone in the near future! read more

My husband and I became clients 5 months ago and from the first conversation with Ivoire Young to our first appointment with Amanda Han, we have been extremely happy. Not only are they very knowledgeable, but they are dedicated to helping their clients and respond promptly. I first learned of Amanda from a podcast and after reading her book decided to call to see if they could help with our situation. My initial call went to voicemail and rather than leave a message, I reached out via email which led to to scheduling a call with Ivoire. Ivoire was very warm and welcoming during our call and I felt like I was talking to an old friend as she thoroughly answered all of my questions without making me feel rushed. She explained that Keystone's services are not limited to tax preparation, but they also advise clients on long term investment strategies to maximize tax savings. After asking about our goals and objectives, Ivoire identified several resources that may be helpful for us. During that in-depth conversation, I realized that if my call is ever answered by voicemail instead of a live person it's not a bad thing, it just means they are actively providing the same exceptional service to other clients. After the initial call, I continued to exchange emails and phone calls with Ivoire and every time she was very responsive, even replying on weekends. I had heard others rave about Amanda prior to reaching out, so I already knew we would be in good hands with Keystone. What I didn't expect is that she would save us money even before our first appointment. A few weeks before our scheduled appointment, I emailed a question about retirement contributions and Amanda showed how one option could lower our tax bill by $6,000! Shortly after we had the scheduled appointment, Amanda sent us a personalized report outlining recommendations for our long term investment plans. Since then, that report has become a tool helping us make informed decisions about our next steps and encouraging us about future plans. I initially called Keystone for help preparing tax returns but soon realized they are providing so much more. Working with Keystone has changed the trajectory for our family's future and I can't recommend them enough. read more

I originally contacted Keystone CPA a few years ago when I discovered them via BiggerPockets. My CPA at the time basically became non responsive once I started asking him about using my retirement to invest. I reached out to Keystone and spoke with a gal named Ivoire and she was super helpful even discussed some innovative ideas for me at that time. I felt so relieved to finally speak with someone who not only wanted to help but who understood where I was trying to "go". At that point I was behind on filing my 2016 taxes bc I had decided to not allow my old CPA to file so unfortunately that was not a service Keystone could assist me with at that time. Ivoire was very kind in letting me know and gave me a referral to another CPA who could at least file for me and she encouraged me to contact her back once the return was filed so that keystone could work with me for planning and then file next year's returns also. Fast Forward to last week when I received my finalized return from my existing tax preparer -which I ended up using my Aunt and Uncle's CPA for the past couple of years bc they have a lot of real estate too and that was NOT the best idea- I know im not the most knowledgeable about taxes but even I was able to see some huge mistakes that basically totals to nearly $90k in taxes owed!! My CPA clearly was NOT knowledgeable in the ways I'd been led to believe especially when something basic like Depreciation was missed!! In a moment of sheer despair I reached back out to Keystone CPA. It was the best feeling having Ivoire answer my call I never forgot how kind she was the first time I called over 3 years ago! I couldn't believe she remembered me and even had the original notes she made the first time we spoke so that made it even easier all I had to do was give her some updates on what has changed since the last time we spoke... talk about efficiency! I had an excellent experience speaking with Ivoire to say the very least. Our consultation call was so exactly what I had been searching for! She was informative, straightforward, so understanding and really listened to my needs. She clearly communicated with a very professional demeanor but at the same time had some personality and made sure to get a sense on my personality too which is important and definitely makes talking about taxes a lot less boring haha! I could not be more thankful that she really eased my stress level at that point and made me feel confident in what Amanda, Matt and the whole team at Keystone can do for me as a new client this year. I am very excited to begin working with Keystone and honestly it is mainly because of my impressive interaction with Ivoire!! I can't wait to meet the team, Hello Keystone CPA! read more

Exact same thing as the other reviewer said. I was referred to them because I was seeking a personal and business accountant. I checked out their website which was the first red flag. They are quite the capitalists and list all of these books you can buy through them -- never seen that on a CPAs website before. Then they talk about how they've worked with stars, athletes, etc. Anyway, I left them a voicemail mentioning the referral and my general financial situation and five days later still no response. read more

I was in need of a reliable CPA service that specializes in real estate investing. I had heard a lot of good things about Keystone CPA, so I definitely wanted to hear more about their services. I feel grateful for keystone CPA. I learned about keystone from udirect and am really so happy about both places! I think both of these places have been incredible investments for me and I have learned so many interesting things. I have made back my money 10 fold from what I have spent for services, not to mention the amount of knowledge I have gained. In addition, clearly keystone has an incredible amount of knowledge and passion for real estate taxes. This is my 6th tax season with keystone. I absolutely appreciate them and trust their advise for what I think are more complicated tax questions. I don't know what I would do without them. They also make taxes so easy to understand and the first book they wrote is really fun to read even though I don't think taxes are a favorite subject of mine personally. In addition, I have to add the service they provide is incredible. I just asked Amanda a question at around 9:30 pm and she responded immediately with a link I needed. Getting service like this is unmatched by any other accounting firm. read more

I couldn't be happier and relieved with the service from Keystone CPA. They were originally helping me with my personal taxes, but when I started to use them for my business taxes I was absolutely astounded by their attention to detail, and knowledge. As a first time business owner, getting up to speed on the proper way to incorporate and setting up the business was overwhelming and intimidating. Which is why it was such a relief and pleasure to work with them. Best of all, they were delightfully enthusiastic about answering my endless questions, as I'm paranoid about everything that I don't know and need to know about taxes. read more

If you're looking for tax strategy and answers to real estate tax questions, Amanda and Keystone CPA is your one stop shop. My experience has been that they're really responsive, care that you're getting the information that you need to make the right decision, and are always very informed about the latest changes (large and small). I heard Amanda on Bigger Pockets and decided to take the plunge with Keystone and I wouldn't have done anything differently. Keystone CPA has helped my company since 2009 when we opened our doors. They have been so helpful to me as a new business owner with understanding tax requirements and business structure. In 2015 when my company was audited, Keystone CPA was greatly helpful. Their audit experience helped me glide through the audit with an "A+" according to the auditor! What could have been a stressful situation was less so because of their IRS experience. I recommend Keystone CPA to my customers. read more

My husband and I started using Keystone to do our taxes a few years ago, and we have been very happy with them. As a physician, I am very cautious about who I let view and handle my finances.... and Keystone has been nothing but professional from the first moment. First of all they gave us a planner to help maximize all of our deductions. They are very quick with their turnaround time in doing our taxes, and their fees are very reasonable. In addition, we're planning on using them in the near future to start planning for our retirement and they've already given us several good suggestions. Overall, the people at Keystone are super honest, and will help you maximize your tax return and maximize your deductions. I highly recommend them! read more

So far so good! The initial onboarding communication team could be optimized (better response time or communication receipt). Then, you are assigned to Matt or Amanda. I was referred her from a mutual business colleague, so I had requested her. I also read her book. She is a kind & intelligent tax professional. She is always willing to teach and she sounds up-to-date with the most current updates in tax law. I was looking for someone who could teach me financial and tax education. For our regular meetings, I usually come up with an agenda or a set of questions that I gather up over the week(s). We open with various niceties and personal updates, and then she patiently reviews my concerns and questions. If I have follow-up questions, she helps me understand the answers. Our regular calls vary between 30 to 60 minutes. She provides me specialty knowledge & advice related to her field; she provides me reassurance when it comes to my decisions, and she provides me her professional network who can answer my questions. This is what I was looking for. read more

I have found the staff at Keystone CPA to be exceptionally professional, knowledgeable and kind. Ivoire Young was the person I had the most contact with. After some preliminary emails, to which she always replied quickly, we set up an intake phone call. She asked me detailed questions about my business and professional goals and what I was looking for in terms of services to help my business grow. She also suggested several resources for me, including certain books, websites, organizations, etc. Ivy was also very kind in following up by sending me some links to resources we had talked about. I definitely think, for any entrepreneur who is serious about incorporating tax planning into his / her business, it's worth it to call and schedule a (free) consultation call with Keystone. read more

I had the pleasure of doing a consultation with Ivorie to see if we were a good fit. The session was very informative and I learned a lot about how Ketstone CPA could help us with our tax planning strategies. My wife and I work in tech and healthcare and do real estate investing on the side. I was very happy to learn that they had a lot of experience with other individuals in the same fields. More importantly the owners of the firm are also active real estate investors which is exactly what I am looking for in a CPA. All in all the interaction was great, and Ivorie even talked with me for twice the allocated time, which was nice as it showed this company is willing to take the extra time to work with and educate their clients. read more
