Carr Craft was suggested to me by another shop in the area, so I gave them a call. The scheduling folks were great and were able to get me in quickly, I was able to get it in and back the same day with an in-depth analysis of the problems as well as a quick fix to shore up some of the service issues in less than an hour. The service tech was fantastic, and the prices were far better than I had expected. I will definitely be taking my car here if it has any issues in the future.

The family of my childhood went to the latter. Before Wisser's expanded, he had gas pumps, so we bought our gas and got our car repairs there. Now, with more than double the bays, Wisser's is where my mother still gets her cars serviced. Rick and Jill own and run the repair shop. Rick's father, Dick, was the face of the business when I was a young driver, and I was conflicted about him. An excellent auto mechanic, he presented as a no nonsense man of few words, so I was scared to death of him. Rick is his equal as a mechanic and much less taciturn. His wife, Jill, handles the books. (As a side note, as of today's date, there are 4 earlier reviews that Yelp's algorithm has seen to exclude - see below - and they are worth reading.)

They said they would be able to fix everything up no problem. After about a week they gave us a call letting us know it was going to take a bit longer. No problem, we know everyone is short staffed. After three weeks in the shop we expected our truck to be fully fixed and ready for us to continue using it as our daily driver. Upon pick up, the only thing that was fixed was a few cosmetic things... the steering wheel was completely out of place, the plastic pieces they took off on the inside where torn off and not put back on properly, plus the car was veering off the road . We let the shop know that the car was not driving at all like it did before the accident. They proceeded to say we were lying. We got a second mechanics opinion and they stated if the car was driving like it is now before the accident, it would show on the tires, which it does not. So we concluded that this would need to be fixed. We let auto body USA know this and they claimed we were still lying and that the truck must not be our daily driver. We tried getting the damages to our car covered under insurance as this was a cause of our accident. Auto body USA proceeded to tell the insurance company that the truck was like this before and we supposedly told them this. Even though they have never even seen our truck prior to the accident. Customer service was terrible, there was no transparency in anything that was done, no quote was given, and extremely unprofessional. We were hung up on when trying to talk this out with a representative and it was like pulling teeth trying to hear back from anyone on the team. Here we are in December, still with a broken truck. Trying to save people from the same trouble we went through!

I was a first time customer for some auto body repair and based on that experience I will be back. The results of the work performed were quite satisfactory. Not only that, but they detailed the car before returning it (no up charge). In the interest of continual improvement, the only suggestion I would make is, have a little more proactive communication. I had to call to receive updates when deadlines were getting thin. Now for me, in my situation, this was a no harm no foul occurrence. Needless to say, all things considered, support this local business so they can continue to thrive.

Upon further inspection, Bob discovered that I had fallen victim to the Ford 4.0 v-6 dreaded timing chain slack adjuster failure. We talked it over and I decided to go ahead with the repairs. Bob did what appears to be a fantastic job. Everything is clean and looks brand new under the hood. The quality of the parts that he used are factory grade or better, and so far everything is running like new. I hope to be able to keep this truck another 1000k miles.
