The TwinStar & Northwest credit union merger has been the downfall of TwinStars legacy…read more It has been sad to see this merger unfolding the way that it has. Instead of combining resources and collaboration to work towards common goals that will benefit the membership and employees, the upper management and CU leadership has set a clear precedent that every employee is replaceable, regardless of their accomplishments, performance, and genuine care for the work they do to benefit the membership. This leads me to suspect this merger is for profit and not for the people in the communities or the employees that serve them. After banking with TwinStar for over 13 years, I've closed my accounts and loans with Peak. I have friends who work here and the treatment of employees (especially those in the back office) has been atrocious. Management since the merger is emotionally manipulative and in some instances abusive, driving dedicated workers to leave their jobs in order to protect their own mental health. The working environment for the people managing your money at Peak is not one to be supported. Washington has so many amazing credit unions to support, I encourage the community to vote with their money and support a CU that supports its employees and its community.

I am always pleased with how polite and pleasant everyone is. I am always met with a smile, when I know they will be having to spend some time county my cash and coins. Often I am doing three separate deposits and I am impressed with how the staff deal with some frankly rude people. Some people think they are entitled and a mean and rude to the counter staff. They handle it well and continue on with their work.

Hands down, bar none, this bank is THE worst banking experience i have ever encountered. From…read moreexceedingly lengthy times for funds to transfer in and out, to fees for every single transaction made, to losing four [4] direct deposit payroll checks, when they have the sender and receiver accounts at same bank, at same branch. Each time that happened, i called and called. No follow thru. I had to go in to the bank, reiterate the issue, and after about 20 minutes they would locate the problem and send me back to my employer for a second check be drafted. Who has time for all that? Total nightmare. So i closed my account with them and opened one elsewhere thinking this is the answer. However because my employer still banks with them,i cannot get away from dealing with them.. And payroll landed in between closing ny account and the new bank being funded via direct deposit. So today i went in with a physical check ala a live check, and this branch will not cash a live check in person drawn from an account at their branch. When the account is my employer, definitely funded and im in person.. outrageous really. Never have had a bank not honor their own checks like this. And then, when i deposited through my own bank elsewhere, normally a 24 hour transaction for funds to be received, Homestreet places an additional seven (7) day hold before authorizing this payroll check to be sent over. I can only share my experience in hopes it saves anyone else from having such ridiculous financial experiences. Personally, it was unreal, i do not know if the ineptness comes from management, mistraining, or what .... but this bank outright sucks! Go to Obee, go to Key, bank of america, absolutely any and every other bank does a better job..

All of my questions were answered exceedingly fast and with humor and courtesy (and I had a lot of questions!). They also went above and beyond to accommodate my need to amend the loan once I'd received different information from my contractor- something I don't think anyone else would have done.
