Konikoff Family Dentistry assured me they could help and got me in the next day. I was relieved. What followed felt less like patient care and more like a bait-and-switch. After X-rays, I was told they couldn't actually treat the problem and that I would need to see their specialist -- with an appointment scheduled a MONTH later. A month. For a cracked wisdom tooth causing significant pain. But somehow, despite being unable to address the urgent issue I came in for, there was still time to discuss teeth whitening treatments and tell me I supposedly had multiple cavities that would require extensive work. I left, found another dentist the very next day, had the wisdom tooth removed immediately, and was told there were no cavities or other issues. I understand referrals happen. Specialists exist for a reason. What I do not understand is bringing in a patient in acute pain, failing to meaningfully help them, then pivoting to cosmetic upsells and questionable diagnoses while they're sitting there suffering. If your office cannot provide emergency treatment, be honest about that upfront. Don't tell people in pain you can help, only to turn the visit into a sales opportunity. I would strongly encourage anyone seeking urgent dental care to get a second opinion.

At our first visit she made us pay before the work was even done. I'm almost 60 years old and have never had to do that before. There is no reason for anyone to be impolite & ill-mannered. My daughter is a first time patient and is terrified of dentists. We tried going to a different dentist a week ago and got nowhere at the other dentist office. I was referred to this practice, even though I live 40 minutes away and will happily make the drive again in the future. Scheduling the appt - I had no problems scheduling an appointment. They were able to schedule me for the same day but due to scheduling conflicts on my part, I had to reschedule. I had several questions before my appt and was able to get through fairly easily. I got their voicemail when calling twice but I don't like leaving messages so I just called back at a later time. (While sitting at the dentist office, the staff gave their full attention to the patients so it's understandable that I got the voicemail at times.). Bonus - they were even able to schedule my nieces at the same time. Checking in - staff was friendly. Quick check in with no problems. Appt - not the fanciest office (other practices have TV's for patients and they didn't) but office was clean and catered to children. Staff was AMAZING. We were able to get through X-rays and cleaning with NO TEARS (kudos to Angelique). Staff was patient and friendly - to the point that my daughter kept talking during the appt. they definitely made her feel comfortable. Everyone has a bad day. They never answer their phone or return calls. They make promises for dates and fall short. They avoid responsibility, and are rude on top of that. They are not mindful of your time and are often 30 minutes late. But if you're 5 minutes late, they will not complete the work in your appointment to typical standards in dentistry. I had dental impressions taken for a night guard taken 7 weeks ago and am moving out of state. I advised them of our moving date when I made the appointment and when the impressions were taken, and they said "no problem." I have called several times and left messages with further reminders, and no one answers or returns calls. It's been three weeks of this. Finally today I called from an anonymous number and someone answered to inform me that the guard was not in from the lab and I demanded she call them to follow up, and call me back. I paid for the guard in full 7 weeks ago, and this is completely ridiculous. I've never had this bad of service from any medical provider and will be filing a complaint with my insurance. Don't waste your time or money here for a practice that lacks integrity to properly handle their Care.
