My wife broke her arm in a fall and we opted to go to Kettering Emergency instead of UVMC. The quality of care that was given was excellent. The staff were friendly knowledgeable and efficient. They took very good care of her. I can't say enough good things about this hospital. I hope we don't come back but if we need medical care, this is where we will go. read more

It would have been 5 across the board except for one thing. One I prescription was ordered for me that no one even discussed with me. They tried to put it in my daily meds , again without telling me or asking me. I'm pretty careful about asking questions so I caught it. Let me be clear, it was not a drug that would have harmed me but it is not the way I choose to take care of that condition. The personnel were all kind and caring. Facility is very nice. read more

Nobody wants to go to the hospital these days but if you have to go it's nice to have a nice shiny building with helpful attendants to guide you right? We had to visit a specialist here and after the 45 minutes drive I was left wondering why I had set this up but alas that's another story. I was pleasantly surprised to see the building was well maintained and we could find our doctor easily. Nice open spaces and bright spaces with better than average chairs. We were impressed we could get everything done in a one stop shop within an hour of visiting doctor and his referral for X-rays. Wow! We walked down and they took paper work and ten minutes elapsed and walking to car! What the what??? Wow! Even better their network had already sent me a confirmation of payment, test results and reminder for future appointment when I checked in my car before leaving. Oh KHN, thank you! read more

ER, ICU, Step Down Unit. Best care I've got at Kettering. Saved my life this time. I would give them a 99 5% rating. Have 1 bad experience with an aide. Dr and my Daughter reported it for me. The main Nurse Coordinator took care of the problem and I never saw the nurse again. From then on, it was a fantastic experience. read more

Had to use ED for minor burn. Care was quick and everyone was nice. The Paramedic students who assisted were learning, however the one who dressed my wound and applied a splint need much more training. The nurse should have checked their work but she did not. She seemed very hurried. I'm a retired nurse so feel professional supervision was lacking. read more

I recently went through a crisis and lost everything. Late in life I found myself needing to get a job and try to start over to prepare for retirement. Thankfully I recently found a good job and have been working very hard and saving up. I decided to do a routine test recommended by my Dr. That led to a complication so I came to the emergency room at Kettering Troy. They performed a pretty standard procedure and and I was back on my feet in a couple of days. Everyone treated me well and I thought all was well. Then I got my bill ! :o The charges were extreme! I carefully researched each item and found that I was being charged over 7 times the usual, customary, and reasonable rate hospitals in the area get for the same procedures! I called their billing department and talked to a supervisor and begged them to please only charge me the rate hospitals in the area normally get for the same procedures since I did not have insurance and this amount is far more than I have. They refused to come down one penny. If I was not working then the government would foot the bill but since I am and am on my own they can charge whatever they want! Now I see that I must avoid ever coming back in here if at all possible ! I realize that not getting prompt treatment could lead to further complications but I don't know what else to do. ;( read more

I was in the emergency room twice at the new Kettering Hospital in Troy, and i can not say enough about how awesome they are. Both times i was there they always listen to my concern on why i was there and treated me was such care and were quick on treating me. The er doctor who was the same doctor was great. The nurses and the techs who did my test where always kind, and concerns for why i was there. I ended up being admitted the second time and again my care was above any i have had any other hospital. I have been lucky enough not to have any health issues that i need to be taken to the hospital but i can tell you if you need assistance for any health related issue and need to be seen please go there and you will not regret it. We don't realize how hard to jobs these people have until you need them and so always thank them for what a great job they do. Thank you Kettering Team and god bless you. read more

Not only that the nurses and Doctor were 5 star from start to finish . They were so kind and compassionate and got me in and out of their in about an hour. Used ER and then surgery for urology issue. Hospital is clean, orderly and the staff are very professional. My prep nurses were great, and the doctors superb. My husband was diagnosed with a dissecting abdominal aortic aneurysm in the emergency room. The staff called life flight, communicated with the surgeon, and prepared my husband for his flight, while at the same time being extremely compassionate to us and our fear, even taking the time to initiate a prayer with us. One staff member (a nurse) accompanied me almost to the helicopter pad (safe distance away) as the crew loaded my husband in to it, and then let me break down on her shoulder after the helicopter took off, taking my husband to Kettering Medical Center and straight in to surgery. She walked me to my car, telling me to be careful and to understand that I couldn't beat the helicopter there, so not to try to rush down there. They called to check and see if my husband made it through the surgery, and sent us a very thoughtful card letting us know they were praying for us and our family. The actions and compassion of the ER staff at this hospital made all the difference in the world to us when we were faced with a difficult diagnosis and a lot of fear. We have no doubt their quick thinking helped save his life. We will be forever grateful. read more

Best hospital ever. Very compassionate, efficient, knowledgeable, friendly, clean and beautiful. I broke my knee cap in three places. They brought the X-ray machine to me which meant I didn't have to try and manipulate myself on an X-ray table. The technician was very gentle and very nice. The first hospital I went to local wrapped me very haphazardly in an ace bandage and said go home. These guys put me in a knee stabilizer brace and referred me to an ortho surgeon. Gave me something for the excruciating pain and let me rest for a bit before dismissal. I will always use this hospital if I am able to get there. I recommend it to anyone needing wonderful, understanding, compassionate, and friendly doctors and nurses. Thank you for fixing me up! read more
