They have many therapists so your experience will depend mainly on who you get. You may hit the jackpot, or bankrupt. A lot of equipment but a lot of it is for strengthening Rutgers athletes who are young and bounce back quickly. They seem best at strengthening, not so super at correcting specific problems. Maybe I had bad luck recently but I was rather disappointed with how my experience went. Overall a bit too "mass production" for me as a patient. I would say that if you feel your condition isn't improving, go ahead and make a change to another therapist or facility. You need to make yourself priority #1, #2, #3 and every number thereafter. I also note that while this place is, again, not outright fraudulent like some places, they charge a LOT. They tend to pad the bill with things like heat and ice and non-therapist supervised exercises in order to max the insurance payments. If you don't pay anything that's your business, but if you care about the principle or pay a portion of your bill, realize that the bill here is going to be quite a lot... like several TIMES what other places charge for equal or better treatment. I also agree with the reviewer who said you may have to deal with somewhat abrasive people at the front. Billing is also CHAOTIC. In that respect you are in the end dealing with a huge hospital business (Saint Peters) rather than a small physical therapy outfit.

I must say that I immediately felt at home here and well taken care of. They may not know it, but they are now my extended medical family. First, Mary at the front desk has a very calming demeanor. She is patient and always returns calls when I need to change appointments or cancel them. Second, the PA's that I have worked with (Salem and Alex) and pleasant and informative. Alex is accommodating and has a quiet confidence about her. She clearly knows what she is doing (she conducted my initial evaluation) and has been professional and empathetic. I recently cried during an appointment when I felt down about my reliance on others for help. She reassured me what I was feeling was normal and let me express my sadness. Third, the PTAs are knowledgable and encouraging. They take great care to ensure I am making progress by pushing me just enough and watching me as I exercise and correcting my form. I have worked closely with both Patricia and Tamarys and I can say with confidence that they are the reason I am recovering from my ACL reconstruction so nicely. Both are astute, good listeners, and share a wealth of information about ways to stretch and strengthen various parts of my knee and leg. Lastly, there are two people that may not get as much credit as they should. Sam and Chris are the aides that help patients complete their exercises, make them laugh, keep them company, pass them towels and stretch bands and ice them down at the end. I can ask for just about any thing and they are willing to help. I got to know Sam while doing PT this summer. Many times I had to bring my toddler along with me (which was very nice of them to allow me to do and I am grateful for) and Sam entertained him as much as he could and made him feel comfortable. So glad I found Park Physical Therapy. I look forward to coming here for treatments and exercises and I know they'll get me back to normal in no time!

Through it all, head therapist, Alexandria McSweeney has been there providing and overseeing exceptional care. I credit this practice for helping me regain my strength and mobility after each procedure, to the point where I am still teaching tap dance. The personal attention given to each individual is outstanding. Each therapist brings their own unique style to the treatment given, and all are so very compassionate and supportive. I just completed 2.5 months of vestibular rehab in the South Plainfield, NJ office, after a bad…read morefall left me with a concussion. I walked into the South Plainfield office, for my evaluation with Zach, feeling horrible. I was dizzy, couldn't walk straight, my balance was off, nauseous, ringing in my ears, and I almost passed out the day before (unbeknownst to me, the concussion impacted my heart rate). I was terrified and devastated. After 2.5 months, 3 times a week with Zach, I am able to balance on one foot, walk a straight line, do step ups without falling down (Zach litterally caught me a few times when I fell), and my heart rate has normalized. For the entire treatment, Zach was patient, kind, empathetic, and a great listener. He has such a calm demeanor, which was definitely needed. He appropriately slowed down my therapy in the beginning, when I felt worse, and then pushed me (at the correct pace) when I needed to be pushed, as I started feeling better. I made such gains, that I am now going to the gym, after a long hiatus, so I don't lose what I gained in therapy. I had underwent a short treatment with Yasmin that ended abruptly because of my concussion. She actually called me while I was in the emergency room! I thought it was regarding my canceled appointment, but it was just to check on me! In this day and age, that kind of care and compassion is rare! Kirsten has the sweetest demeanor, and would cheer me on in the background now and then, by giving me the thumbs up, and her comforting smile. I definitely needed it on some days when I had lost hope. What a genuine person, she didn't need to do that, she just did. Heather, who had nothing to do with my treatment, ran and got me a pillow one day. She thought it would make me more comfortable while I was doing my table exercises!! It did!!! Leena at reception was so kind and willing to help with whatever I needed. I definitely recommend the South Plainfield office. Hopefully I'll never need their services again; but if I do, I will return to the South Plainfield, NJ office; provided the therapists listed above are there to provide treatment!
