Both were very strong tasting whiskeys although I felt the Berry Bros was slightly smoother with a better aroma. This shop has a large humidor with a good selection of fine cigars and accessories. The owner was very nice and had an in depth understanding about whiskey and cigars. A display of classic smoking pipes were affixed to the wall across from the massive whiskey bottle inventory and sitting lounge.

It's a bit of a smack in the face walking in here. The music is REALLY loud (alright, alright old man) and the walls are stocked to the ceiling with glass fronted shelves full of cigars on the left and smoking paraphernalia on the right (yes that means pipes and bongs). The cigar collection was pretty extensive, as was their pipe arsenal. It did seem a little expensive, not to mention a little intimidating. Probably not somewhere you'd take your mum.

This store smells exactly like his front room used to! It's a family run shop selling pipes, cigars, lighters and tobacco, at reasonable prices. They also ship to anywhere in the world. I was surprised to see a lighter at £180, my jaw hit the floor! Why would anyone pay that for a lighter is beyond me, but there you go! A great shop if you want to get your fix, but otherwise just interesting for a wee look and maybe a flashback to your childhood!

The shop can only be describes as a treasure trove for all things Whisky, Cigar and tobacco. Not being smokers I can't really talk too much about the smoking products but there seemed to be an extensive collection and they have a humidor located at the back of the shop. The whisky selection was absolutely brilliant, with lots of bottles I had never seen before. I could have stood and looked at the range for hours but my attention was immediately pulled to their small selection of gins and wines. Deciding to treat myself to a little bottle I started looking at the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. After picking up a tasty looking little number a member of staff saw me looking at it and said it was the only wine Victoria Beckham drank and it was very difficult to find in Glasgow - SOLD! Who cares if it's true of not I still feel now that VickyB and I are now destined to be BFFs. As you would expect in this type of shop the staff are incredibly knowledgable and helpful. A great little shop selling brilliantly interesting things - I will definitely be back soon to stock up again.

I don't generally get excited about retail therapy. I abhor shopping for clothes. It's a chore…read morepurchasing home goods. Buying food is marginally more enjoyable. But when it comes to booze, I could go on all day. In a city where cocktails are questionable and scotch is king, Good Spirits Co is a gasp of fresh air to a drowning man. Not unlike Gerry's in Leeds/Soho or Astor Wines in NYC, this shop offers enough variety and substance to satisfy most any liquor lover. Beyond a product selection that could leave me browsing the shelves for hours, the staff is knowledgeable (and trying to become even more so!), welcoming, and the space is noteworthy in its own right. Ask about the cashier's counter sometime - it's a piece to be pondered and appreciated. I'm excited about the forthcoming tasting room to come, and hope that local Glaswegians come to admire and adore this liquid gold outlet for the treasure it already is.
