This place is way to busy for anyone to care for what you need. They're just a revolving door. They…read moregive your incorrect information all the time. Doctor says one thing you tell the front desk or call about the next day they don't know what you're talking about and will not even try to clear it up for you. Must wait till your next visit or wait 3-5 days for a response from a doctor you just saw. Takes them 7-10 days to fill out any possible paperwork you made need for work or anything which is ridiculous. They do not care when you need things done. Everything is based on when they feel like it. Will not try to appointment times but will cancel yours quick and reschedule you a time without even confirming. First worst pregnancy experience I've ever had. I cannot wait to have my baby and stick to all doctors North county.

I cannot recommend this place. I needed to find a new gynecologist after my former doctor retired…read more I had a issue that was caught at an ER visit and needed to follow-up on it. After scouring the internet, I landed on this place and was able to secure an appointment 2 months from when I called. My initial visit was with a 2nd year Resident (she was very nice, seemed capable and I would have been happy to continue care with her). At the end of the visit, her supervising Dr. came into consult - again, happy with that exchange. It was explained that they did not have the necessary ultrasound equipment to examine me, and would have to refer me out. I was shocked by this, my former doctor was always able to perform the necessary ultrasounds (& biopsies, when necessary) in his office the same day as my appointments. They do, however, have several ultrasound machines available for pregnant patients, just not for those of us over 50. I did attempt to follow-up with the Office Administrator re: the lack of equipment for their senior patients. Ms. Rodriquez did call me back and informed me that the doctors prefer to refer their testing out to a different facility (except this was the complete opposite of what I was told on my initial visit). It took two weeks to get an appointment for the ultrasound. It took an additional week to get the results. It took an additional three weeks to get an appointment to talk to the doctor about the procedure I would need that we discussed on my first visit. The straw that made me leave, was a call 2 days before my appointment telling me that the original Resident/Supervising Doctor I had seen, would not be in the office, and I would be seen by two completely different doctors that I had never heard of. There is no continuity of care at this practice. They emphasis care for younger patients, but not older patients. It takes forever to get anything done.

I am a 66 year old nurse practitioner in the emergency department and if there is one thing I know is that women who have had a spontaneous abortion or a loss of a child for any reason that is the time to put on you best compassion face. Nope, she walked in the room apparently did not read the chart before entering and said " hey mom lets see if we can hear the baby heart beat". My daughter lost her baby 2 weeks ago and the entire event was traumatic with 4 ER visits a hemorrhage that led to a surgery and significant loss of blood. A tiny bit of compassion would have went a long way. My daughter was so upset and frazzled when she left that office that she forgot to ask for the approval of the referral to the doctor that performed her surgery and will be performing her tubal ligation as this is her 3rd miscarriage and she almost lost her life. When she was hemorrhaging in Whittier while there taking one of her boys to a football camp the paramedics could not get a blood pressure and pulse was thready. She went unconscious and her boys were traumatized and left alone in a hotel not knowing if there mother was going to be ok. Myself and my daughter (an RN) hurried to Whittier from Bakersfield to handle the situation. I can not believe that a seasoned OB/GYN whose bio states "Dr. Karen Lapesarde offers women in the Santa Maria area at the CHC Women's Health - Arbor clinic. CHC provides complete OB/GYN services including 'well women' exams, family planning, GYN surgeries, obstetrics, as well as care during and after pregnancy. Each year, CHC providers deliver more than 1200 babies and perform over 500 GYN surgeries. CHC is dedicated to providing high-quality, full-service women's health care in a friendly, comfortable, and confidential environment." would treat a person this way. Dr Lapesarde owes my daughter a huge apology and needs to reconsider the way she treats her patients. And apology goes a long way. Shame on you Marie Ramos FNP-C Emergency Medicine

Hmmmm.... I will NEVER return to Arbor Medical Group for care!!! I have recently been seeing the…read morepractice for prenatal care and I am sadly disappointed by their lack of professionalism and patient care. FOR STARTERS: Sad to say that the vast majority of their patients are state funded by Medi-Cal! Which wouldn't be an issue if they were able to provide exceptional care...especially for people like myself that are paying a small fortune for PPO coverage. 1. I met my Doctor for ten minutes and only once....at my seventh month of pregnancy. She was very brash and made inappropriate comments about my desire to have a C- section verses natural delivery, Now my husband and I pay over $2,500 a year in premium costs and not to mention 20% of medical bills! Insinuating that I would rather look pretty giving birth to my son rather she had read my chart she would have discovered that severe vaginal tearing had occurred with my daughters delivery, followed by Anterior and Posterior Reconstructive surgery. "Now, I tell all of my patients that a C-Section is major surgery and the only benefit is going in looking pretty and looking pretty after delivery. " Geee.... thanks Doc now who do I make that check payable too??? Yeah Right! Doctor Transfer here I come! That was the last appointment for me! 2. No one discussed my lab results with me. Some blood tests can be scary, especially waiting for the results. When I called the office to inquire I was treated as if I was an annoyance and difficult patient. Not my intention at all...just want to know the status of my health and my unborn child's. 3. Since I hadn't met the doctor until my very last appointment with arbor medical group, I directed all of my questions to the nurses. I was told that Dr. Ebner does circumcisions but Marian Hospital does not allow that procedure to be performed in the hospital. Not completely convinced I asked a Nurse Practitioner to verify this information. She scolded me! Saying.."You don't ever ask a Medical Assistant for medical advice, they aren't qualified!" Hello!!! Where the hell is my doc for these questions?!?!? 4. Customer Service and Patient Care was far below my standards. The attitude and inappropriate words used were not only hurtful but confirmation that I would never in a million years trust my health in their hands. 5. After finding a new Doctor that we can trust, I requested to pick up my medical records. When reviewing my medical records I was shocked to discover many errors about myself: a) My records stated that I was SINGLE but I am MARRIED. b) My records stated that my daughter was delivered at home but she was born at San Luis General Hospital. c) My records stated that I denied prenatal classes, but I was never offered any classes. I could go on and on about my dissatisfaction. My only suggestion to anyone receiving care is to ask questions and if you get negative responses to your questions, get the hell out of dodge! Even if you have state funded insurance, find someone else. Life is not a popularity contest...you are your own boss and you deserve to be treated with the integrity and top notch medical care.
