Stayed here one night early March (2021). Not many tourists in town at this time, so everything was very quiet and peaceful. Check I. Is super easy, they text you the door code to your phone and everything is contactless. Parking is free & right across the street. The river is there too, so you can hear the water flowing by all the time from your window. I had room 3 downstairs and it has 2 queens plus a full kitchen, which is great for when you're traveling with food. The shower pressure is good & the beds are comfortable. Plus it is a very affordable hotel. In town most business staff in town are wearing masks, but locals don't seem to wear masks. So you need to keep your distance from people. This is an adorable town and I'm happy to have visited in one of the off season times. It is within walking distance to shops & restaurants too. I'd stay again!

Digital doorknobs. No keys to loose.

Hey, this place was pretty cool. The mixed reviews had me hesitant, but once we got in, it was totally fine! Looks like they replaced the carpet recently. We (3 of us) stayed in the Pinecone Suite. It had a queen bed, kitchenette, pull-out and a bathroom. Back door leads to the parking area. It is located right across the street from the river. There is street parking, but we noticed no cars at dusk, so we moved ours behind the room. Just 1 block from everything in the little town. We didn't have to check in with anyone. The doors are locked with a digital keypad. The Lodge is small. Main building is 2 stories. Bottom has the 2 suites. 1 has 2 double beds, and the other is the one we stayed in. Upstairs is a 2 bedroom. There is also a little studio in the back. One thing to be careful for are the ants and the bats. When looking for the lodge, look for the carved bears.

I loved my stay! This place is just lovely everything is so clean!! Like really clean! They staff is so nice and welcoming. The continental breakfast was good. Your usual cereal orange juice and bagels. The rooms are pretty big we got 2 queen beds and there was still so much space in the room. They do have a strict policy with noise. But considering the location it is expected. The river is not close at all to the hotel. It's across the street and you have to hike down a little. I would most definitely stay here again!

Each room had an extra cot.

Second time here, We stayed in the two bedroom suite Overlooking the river. It was absolutely beautiful, So spacious with so many nice details. And the private patio was the best. Easily fit two small families and even room for a few more. Will be back again next year

I loved my stay and the cute cottage that I rented. The cottage was very neat, clean and private. It had everything I needed to make me feel at home. I am so happy that I found this place. I loved the private patio and small lawn area to relax in. Private parking available made me feel safe. Jenny was so very nice and accomodating. It was very quiet during the evening. The riverfront view was beautiful and relaxing. I would definitely return here next time I am in the area. I am from Whittier, CA and my purpose for visiting Kernville was to do some hiking in the Sequoia National Forest. Kernville is a very nice area to visit. Thank you for such a memorable and pleasant stay.

I stayed here for around a week or so with my husband looking for a home to buy near by and we were pleasantly surprised that the River is indeed across the street! Not a lot of traffic goes back and forth other then for others to park and the people around are very respectful of sound so it was very peaceful. They were so very kind to us and made us feel welcomed. Whenever I explained I had to stay another night or two so we could sign paperwork for the house towards the end of the visit she was more then willing to put time aside of her personal time to make sure we had a room. They put so much TLC into this place and you can tell! Clean room, clean bathroom and whenever we had a room with a kitchen it was very clean too. Never had a place I didn't have anything bad to say. Would stay everyday if I could lol! If your looking for a family friendly clean place to stay with easy safe access to the river this is your spot!

    Cockroach

My family came here for the weekend and it was a big let down. There was a cockroach in the room. The bathroom window wouldn't stay open without a stick. The air conditioner "worked" but not really. It was over 90 degrees outside and at times it felt more refreshing outside than it did inside. And to top it all off, somebody stole our fishing poles from right in front of our door.

We stayed for a motorcycle camping event (Frandy Campgrounds ) this time around…read more Although the reservation wasn't made by me- my friend noticed once the event dates were released, other properties were booked via their websites. As with Riverview Lodge. Then she snooped around Expedia and found some availability. Woo hoo! We've stayed in Kernville a few times already, and with the proximity to Frandy Campgrounds and places to eat and the grocery store, super duper close. We arrived the day before festivities began (Thursday) and got situated. It's a first come, first served parking situation. And if you got the rooms closer to the river, you can utilize the paved driveway and head on down. She booked a double queen room. Our bed was so comfy, it was easy to fall asleep. The AC blows so much cold air (don't mind the noise from it). But, since we picked the bed closest to the AC unit, I think hubby unplugged it the second night & we propped the window next to us for a fresh breeze. Since my friend checked us in, she told us coffee's available in the morning. I don't recall her telling me what times coffee is served. So, on the second day- I lazily walked into the coffee area at 6am and was disappointed there was nothing. Then, I walked into at 6:30am and the coffee pots with a variety of flavored creamers were available. When I went back for coffee around 10am- everything was put away. Womp womp womp. *Some friendly advice- perhaps staff can post a note in the coffee room what time coffee hours are. That way it gives customers a chance to plan ahead. It's a no frills property. You get a TV with cable (we watched MTV the entire time). Strong water pressure in the bathroom sink and shower. Toiletries you'd expect from Motel 6. So, if you're dead set on something specific, bring your own. There was a fake flower vase set on one of the tables in the room and a fake flower arrangement in the bathroom. Both have a thick blanket of dust on them, that if you knocked into it or slightly touched it- thick dust bunnies just cascade. At this point, just throw away the fake flowers. It would suck if a customer has allergies. I'm sure something can be found at the dollar store in Lake Isabella. Good sized mini fridge and microwave available. And the chairs placed outside your front door, are a great way to just chill in the shade and inhale that fresh air. Along the river, Riverview Lodge has an area with fire pits and logs you can burn. I saw corn hole boards propped up behind one of the cabins closest to the water.

Fridge didn't work and the…read morelayout was pretty insane, like there had to have been a lot of effort put into making it so awkward to access the sink in the bathroom. Then there were a couple next level weird god posters just randomly thrown up, even in the room. Cringe AF. We get it, you want to pretend you're in middle of the cuntry in a flyover state and haven't put any intelligent thought into anything. But as a real American, I understand this country was founded on the principle of freedom from religion. And -- while I get that this is a private business and they can be as weirdly obsessed with supernatural fictional characters as they want, and plaster it all over their property no different from a funny batman-themed motel, if such a thing existed -- if I wanted to join a cult, I'd go to church.

Once we stepped out the next morning it was a picture out of a postcard, the view is stunning. At the end of our stay, we accidentally left behind the card my husband wrote for me for our 1st wedding anniversary. We called that evening after getting home and even after they cleaned the room, they went out of their way to find it so they can mail it to us. We were originally told it was fine for part of our group to arrive later, which we appreciated, but everything changed once we got there. The host spoke to us like we were children rather than adults (I'm almost 40 yrs old) trying to follow the rules. She kept lecturing us about policies, yet she wasn't enforcing them consistently. The real issue came when the rest of our group--who was running later than expected--was told they would have to turn around and go home because walking in with backpacks after dark would "disturb people." Mind you the River in the background mostly drowned out our conversation with her at the time. We tried to understand how this made sense when campers regularly leave for dinner or drinks and return later, but she refused to have a real conversation. Instead, she canceled the reservation on the spot and accused us of being "difficult." At that point, we were never even allowed to check in. All we wanted was clarity on the rules, because what was written and what was being enforced didn't match. It's hard to imagine enjoying this location when the campground host seems more focused on rigid control than hospitality. A little reasonableness and communication would have made all the difference. Still not clear on if my refund went through. Smh.
