The guy came back onto my property threatening me. An hour after I called, I received a call from KSD asking me if the guy was still there. I told the broad that he was standing on the next corner at the time. she told me to call again if he comes back. when I asked the broad why I would call again if they still hadn't arrived from the first call, she developed an attitude. it was a situation that could have easily escalated. I even let her know that I have pictures of the guy trying to open my door.

Well, I'm just a little confused by the 'emergency alerts' when one is prompted at 0236 hours (in civilian time that's 2:30 a.m. - that's right - 2:30 a.m. in the morning!!!) We all damn near had heart failure when that shrill sound came through our phones making us jump out of our beds in the middle of deep sleep!! Who in their right mind would do such a thing? Do these folks (dispatchers I assume) have no clue that there are autistic, elderly, physically challenged, mentally challenged, and other people who have significant health issues like those with cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, etc., that could be severely impacted by such a delirious and thoughtless thing to do? PUSH an alert at that hour? Do they? OMG! What the hell? After that 2:30 a.m. BLAST of emergency from the CHP, we couldn't go back to sleep! It was just horrible. Someone needs to talk to the individual who made that call...because in my humble opinion, it was the wrong one. Further, the "Silver" alert that came across today at 1900 hours (7:00 p.m.) was interesting, to say the least. Interesting because only 236 people viewed it by the time I did. It seemed odd to me that only 236 people had viewed that emergency "Silver" alert - but I think I may know why! BECAUSE "SILVER" means OLD! GODFORBID! An elderly (old) missing person?! WTF? So now the elderly - or old - are being LABELED BY THE CHP? WHY? I think that is also the wrong call. In this day and age, the elderly are (for the most part) treated like scum. This type of alert should simply be made as a "Missing Persons" alert, so more people will view the alert - increasing the odds, or chances, that the "missing person" could be located. What sad commentary for the elderly in our society, being imposed by the most respected law enforcement agency in town (once again, in my humble opinion).

Embarrassing display of community policing today…read more I called dispatch to report an injured goose tangled in fishing line, sitting right out in the open grass by the Plaza Park pond, literally five miles from headquarters. I left my full name and direct callback number so the responding unit could locate us immediately, and dispatch explicitly told me they were sending someone. Instead, I watched an hour of taxpayer dollars burn for zero effort: one cruiser slowly circled the parking lot through rolled-up windows and drove off, while another blasted sirens nearby without anyone ever stepping foot on the grass. To make matters worse, they never even bothered to call my phone with an update, leaving me waiting around like a dummy. If Visalia PD isn't equipped or simply doesn't handle animal calls, don't take my name and number, promise a dispatch, and then completely ghost me with zero communication. Reroute me to someone who will actually do the job. Don't take cars for a lazy spin in the A/C and pretend you're responding. Complete failure of basic competence and leadership. Do better.
