What a great nursery! Everything is so beautifully cared for and pristinely clean. The staff members are genuinely friendly and helpful. It was so much fun going to their pumpkin patch display to choose a pumpkin to carve for Halloween. The nursery is also dog friendly (please keep your dogs on a leash). We will definitely be back for our gardening needs.

I really enjoyed walking through this lovely plant nursery in seffner! They seem to have it all; yard decor, planters, annuals and outdoor plants, fertilizer and pest treatments, indoor houseplants, and more! They even have a beautiful butterfly garden! Prices may be slightly higher than what I normally pay, but that could also be because everything is higher priced than what we normally pay everywhere in general. Still, not outrageous in price. Customer service was fine. We meandered through the nursery u bothered (which I prefer). I can't recall anyone ever checked on us though. But the person who checked us out was great! Super friendly, made sure we got signed up for the reward program, and gave us a "welcome to the kerby nursery" family welcome bag. I bought me a philodendron mican to join my plant family at home. It was priced at $15 which seems about average. Very healthy little guy and I love him already. I really want to return to grab some lamb's ear (a plant I grew up north and love love love). They also had one kind of hosta(also typically brown up north) and also saw some beautiful petunias I want.

Great plant shop located Inside Kerby's nursery. I never knew how many plants there were until I came here. What an amazing variety. They even have a section for pet friendly plants. They do online services as well for those who shop online for their plants. They can be sent to them or picked up at Kerby's. How nice and convenient is that! Check this out for you plant and green thumb people! It's amazing!

Excited that I found this place! Lots and lots of options and a pleasant stroll if you wanted to spend some time looking at the plants since it's pretty big. They have lots of flower options, some herbs and gardens (bit pricier than home depot or lowes but had more of a variety of choices), a pretty big houseplants section, pots of all sizes, succulents, and lots of fruit trees (figs, tangerines, kumquat, etc.). I think they had a separate area of other trees too, but we didn't go to that area. I also noticed a lot of more rare and unique plants, so this is definitely not the place for budget friendly options. Though of course you can find mini succulents for a few bucks. The staff were also very friendly. I saw some staff making wood tables and others were watering the plants. Every area and section we walked to, there was a staff person asking us if we needed help or had questions. We did not feel awkward just browsing. There were also lots of art pieces and water fountains all around. We sat at some benches and soaked in all the plant life for a while! Got my small fiddle leaf for $16 and I love it! Definitely a fan and would go back if I was in the area

Was recommended to this nursery awhile ago and have been popping in & out ever since! This place is awesome and they make it easier to walk around than most nurseries I've been to. They have wooden walkways and gravel so you're not walking thru dirt. The nursery is outdoors but there is a covered area that's shaded for the type of plants that require more shade. The nursery is probably one of the nicest I've been to. They have everything you could want, obviously depending on the time of the year. They constantly get things as they are in season. The staff are all nice and extremely helpful. If you ask a question and they can't help you, they will get someone who can! I find the workers to be knowledgeable. I had a picture on my phone of some shrubs I had a problem with and they were extremely helpful. You may pay a few dollars more maybe than say Home Depot or Lowe's, but it's worth it. The quality of plants and trees are so much better! Also, as I said, the staff are knowledgeable and will explain how to care for your purchase and will answer any questions you may have. If you want something delivered and installed they can do that for a fee too. I am waiting for them to get a particular tree in and I will be having a bunch of them delivered and planted. I will do a review update after my trees are delivered and planted.

Large open space. Let's of options and many plants you won't find at big box stores. I left with 2 herbs, 2 garden plants, and 3 houseplants for $55

I went there last Friday. The man who helped me was very patient and knowledgeable. I was impressed with what he knew about plants. I had him show me all around the place, and he me er once got annoyed. They had the most beautiful pots and a bogoho sale. I ended up spending a small fortune but it was so worth it. The plants are beautiful and the pots stunning. That was the most fun I have had buying plants. Enjoy everyone!!!

I thought this place was cute and friendly!! The only thing stopping me from coming back are the prices. I don't blame them because it takes a lot of time and energy and devotion to maintain such a beautiful place, but if you check out some of my other reviews you'll probably notice I'm a cheap-o when it comes to plants. :') Either way this place is a kid-friendly nursery with young, friendly staff and fun things to do! The stand out attractions not usually found in other nurseries are the butterfly mural you can take pics with and the cute butterfly garden enclosure. Other than that, Kerby's is a standard typical nursery with a variety of trees, bushes, flowers, and houseplants. I must say, I was surprised at how pricey some of the outdoor plants and flowers were compared to other nurseries and garden centers I've visited, such as in Land O' Lakes. There was definitely a noticeable difference, especially if you buy more than one plant. The trees were a decent price for their sizes though, and they had lovely palms. The indoor plant section had a hugeee variety that was fun to explore! There was a rather large Hoya section which was fun to see and a table of rarer plants that are harder to find. When houseplant prices go over $50 my brain kind of stops processing so I can't say which plants they were :") what I CAN say is that some big box stores like Home Depot/Lowe's have been pumping out Hoyas so a couple of them at Kerby's were wayyy out of my price range in comparison. I ended up getting a Hoya tricolor because of the flowers I'll hopefully be seeing in a couple of years and my godmom got a Madagascar palm because it looked really cool and you can't find it just anywhere. While the staff was filled with young, bubbly employees, I question their knowledge of houseplants (at least the employees I spoke to). One girl called the Madagascar palm a Sago palm and told us to water it once a week, and that we would have to repot it into a bigger pot, and she told me to water my Hoya 2-3 days depending on the environment. :'( I'm not the type to go with watering schedules because there's a host of factors that affect how quick soil dries. The Madagascar palm is actually a succulent/cacti and Hoyas are tropical succulents so both would probably get root rot if I watered them with the schedule she told me, as they hold water in their bodies/leaves really well. The cactus's roots were also not visible from the pot and there weren't superficial deformities on the plant so I'm not sure why she recommended repotting. However, this was just one instance and I'm sure the other employees have a range of knowledge on other plants; I'm just pointing out my own observations since I'm picky with my plants. All in all, Kerby's Nursery is a fun, family-friendly garden center with lots of plants to explore. I can't say I'll be back though because the prices were a bit much for me, but I'm still happy to support!

Hey kiddos, there's a new pumpkin patch in town. And by town, I mean the eastern side of Hillsborough county! Kerby's Nursery and Landscaping in Seffner has the most festive, spectacular pumpkin display I've seen in a long time! And it's free!!! Such great autumnal displays for colorful photos of the kids or to practice your photography skills. You can't miss the enormous wall of pumpkins when you pull into their large parking lot. Even if you went for a quick trip for fertilizer or a basil plant, you are immediately drawn to this magnificent display of harvert happiness! You can walk thru the doorway of the pumpkin wall to the sweetest display of fall joy you've ever seen. They have an attendant to help you in the pumpkin area. This way customers don't pluck one of the display pumpkins off the pumpkin wall! Everything I glanced at had a price sticker on it and the prices seemed fair for a family run nursery. Quality isn't cheap but they definitely don't rob you at the register for your child's perfect pumpkin pick! They have several pumpkin and guard varieties such as conus big stem, gladiator, cinderella, prize winner, jack be littles and jarrhdale to name a few. Now when's the last time you've been to a pumpkin patch and had such a unique variety of pumpkins to make your fall and Halloween displays something to remember?! They have spectacular fall flowers too! Mums a plenty! They had displays with hay bales and corn stalks too but I am not sure if they're for purchase. While you're there be sure to checkout The Butterfly House. It's a free interactive butterfly enclosure. Monarchs and Gulf Fritillary are the two common butterfly's you'll see fluttering around you while you're there. They sell all the plants and flowers you'd need to make a butterfly garden at home. You may even get lucky and bring home a few eggs or chrysalis on your new plants! They've got a few large butterfly wall murals for one of a kind photo ops! Kerby's has meticulously organized paths leading you to several different areas in their garden. They have all of their plants, trees, flowers, herbs, pots and supplies grouped together for the novice and expert gardener alike to plan their garden projects successfully! Kerby's can assist you with fountains, ponds and water features. As well, you can shop for all the indoor plants you would need to pull off that new boho chic look! So if you come to check a garden project off your to do list, be sure to stop and admire the pumpkin display!

Kerby's $179 flowerpot they lost the sale on
    Kathy T.

I'm still in the parking lot, writing this! Kerby's knew I was set to drop over $250+ & they just lost me FOREVER as a customer. I came in, explaining what I was looking for - a very large 18"--20" pot for my Heliconia that's being delivered tomorrow. The price of all of Kerby's pots, in the size I needed, ranged in price anywhere from $100 to well over $200, no small change! Also, I found a gorgeous Ming Aralia, which is a difficult house plant to find, and needed a pot for that too. I asked one of the high school kids who worked there if he could re-pot it for me. Of course I was going to pay a fee for the service! He acted like it was a bother to him. What? Anybody who is buying a houseplant may ask for it to be re-potted into a nice pot. You should offer this service; most other places do, as this is simple customer service. He also tried to trick me by telling me this plant needed a bigger pot than normal because he said it "had a bigger root system" than other plants. He's wrong, it does not have a big root system. I've had this plant before in my home and happen to know it has a smaller root system than normal and that the roots don't grow and become root bound fast, so if anything, it requires a smaller pot than normal. What it requires is a pot 2" bigger than the pot it's already in, and the salesman is telling me it requires a pot 4"--6" larger, which would actually be detrimental to the plant. I was a Manager at a greenhouse/florist/flower shop, so I consider myself somewhat educated on this subject. I don't like a place that tries to play you the fool by automatically taking advantage of you, thinking you have no knowledge. After waiting around forever for someone to wait on me, I finally got disgusted from being in the heat too long, and I had to hunt someone down to ask them to ring up my Ming Aralia! No one asked me at this point what pots I had decided on, yet I had consulted with them, asked for a yardstick to measure the circumference, etc. They knew I was a serious buyer. Just a suggestion: Why don't you install "misters" around your property? Your customers won't be dropping like flies, and neither will your employees. Just some friendly advice, take it or leave it.

Grab a wagon as you stroll around. Plants of all sizes, shapes, and colors. Selections are well placed throughout the premises. Meander through the grounds and don't forget to check out their lepidopterarium (butterfly conservatory)! The customer service is efficient, knowledgable, and nice. Price are very competitive. @kirbysnursery

Another satisfied customer! Thanks to Kerby's!
