I unfortunately cannot comment on the school itself, nor the teachers. I am giving one star as communication with the Director, Lily, is quite poor. At least it's poor for potential parents. I cannot comment on communication with parents of children who are currently enrolled, only on the communication for potential families. We originally toured the school a year ago because we heard good things about it through our neighbors. After meeting with the Director, she said she would get back to us on our requested part-time schedule to see if it was doable for our infant.. We never heard back from her, but we assumed it was due to the holidays as it was around December. Then into January, still never heard back from her. We ended up doing in-home care with a nanny instead. Fast-forward to now. I emailed Lily to ask about availability for our now toddler. I asked about availability for this upcoming March for a part-time schedule. She did respond initially and asked for my child's birthday (not sure why as I had told her how old my child would be in March, but not a big deal that she asked). I responded to her email but again, never heard back after that. A few days went by and then I sent her a follow-up email, specifically stating that I had not heard back from her and I am still looking for updates. Crickets. It's now been 14 days since she originally emailed me back. Needless to say, this does not instill trust for me. So instead, we are going to tour the Primrose location down the road. Not for our family. This daycare is large and has two buildings. The older kids (3 plus) are shuffled from one building to the other including during snowstorms, having to walk on unshoveled sidewalks. It's also difficult to find your child at pick up as they are moved around so much. We received pictures of our child's class parked in front of screens watching shows. Daily reports lack any type of detail and overall the school feels chaotic. We were disappointed as we knew others who had great experiences at other Kensington locations. Kensington seems more focused on promoting their growth of additional locations in the city instead of focusing on ensuring their existing locations are running as they should be. read more

While this location is pretty looking, and the Kensington model in general is very appealing, you should run away from this place and never look back. I understand that there are staffing issues at all daycares in the area, but it really shines through at Kensington Geneva. The teachers come and go monthly, and the ones that remain are ill-experienced, apathetic and someone's downright rude. The good ones quickly realize that this place is run so poorly that they must all start looking for a new job as soon as they arrive. The administration is a joke. Directors shuffle in and out every six months. Communication is so non-existent to the point that it is downright offensive. We have been notified of teacher changes less than twelve hours before class starts on a Monday morning at least 5 times in the last year. We are aware that the assignments are set many days in advance, but the announcement still goes out like clockwork at 7pm on a Sunday night. You aren't turning in a college homework assignment here, you are notifying parents, some of which have children with issues adapting to change, with zero time to plan. But your kids all get fancy matching backpacks, so that's special. Sadly, the reports of organization issues from many years ago in these reviews still remain. Forms are lost more often than they are found, payments go missing and double charges are the standard. Plan to pull your hair out with this place on a weekly basis. Trying to decipher the monthly statements requires a masters in accounting, or Mandarin. It's a lost cause. Go elsewhere. There are a dozen daycares within a square mile of this place and most of them need more students. They will tell you that your child is a priority and they are doing everything they can to do what's right for them, but in the end, it's just a gussied up strip mall daycare. read more

We love Kensington! From the get-go admissions was very helpful by keeping us updated regularly on the waitlist. Once we started, the teachers were so welcoming to us and our boys. We Immediately noticed an improvement in our sons art skills and interest as well as in his speech. The school and teachers constantly provide new and fun activities to help engage the kids and are always available to talk and provide feedback on our kiddos each day. We love the atmosphere and energy and look forward to many more years there! read more

We have been incredibly disappointed with this school. We have recently pulled our children after being subject to our children's 5th and 6th quarantine due to exposure to a positive case at school. Four quarantines last year and two more coming three days into the school year. The worst part about it is that their policy states that 50% of tuition is to be paid while your children are in quarantine. There are no other schools with this policy in the area, nor are there any schools with a frequency of quarantines and exposures like this location. With our children only attending for three days before one wing was shut down and the other placed on quarantine for a separate exposure, we asked for our deposit back. We don't feel our children are safe. We have also paid a significant amount of money to Kensington while we stay home and watch our children for them. We felt that we were fair in requesting our deposit after three days, yet we have been met with such resistance, defensiveness, and lack of sincerity. Major disappointment. read more

Kensington School is the place to be! They are leaders in the industry in all areas, from excellent care to incredible curriculum right down to professional and loving staff members. Both of my children (now teens) attended KS and they still talk about their experience and friendships built there. Their strong foundation socially, emotionally and academically has benefited them through all higher education years thus far. Kensington will always have a piece of my heart as it was the village that kept my children safe, loved and well cared for. As working parents you can't ask for more. I highly recommend Kensington and wish all children could have this special experience. read more

Both my kids have gone to this school at some point and we love it! No daycare is perfect, and we have experienced 2 other schools in the area, this one exceeds our expectations. There is turnover at times, but not as significant as some other reviews describe, at least not in comparison to the other schools we have used. The staff is friendly, the place is super clean, the food is superb - the best we have had, and the director has been around since 2018, so not sure what the other review means when there has been director changes...They take pride in their programs and care. We were very disappointed with this location. My four year old went through 4 quarantines and my son went through two quarantines. While they say they follow COVID guidelines, they do not. My husband and I reached out several times to the director about kids not wearing masks and she never acknowledged this. This was even after half their school was shut down after 8 students and staff were infected with COVID. We were notified of quarantines through an app. They charge half tuition also for the two weeks your children are quarantined at home. read more

Kensington School is by far the best Early Childhood Education Program that I have had the pleasure to be a part of. Kensington truly has taken all aspects of child development and has created an incredible curriculum for all age groups. This ensures that, when they leave Kensington to go off to Kindergarten, they're ready! Kensington has some of the best teachers around and is continually inviting amazing teachers to the team! Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience at Kensington for the short time we were part of the school. Safety should be a number one priority at any place that cares for children, and we felt that our son's safety and another infant's safety was put at risk. Furthermore, the response to the safety situation was handled incredibly poorly. The area director was defensive, rude, and dismissive, specifically when I asked for our deposit returned. The director was polite, but we felt that we could no longer trust that our son would be safe at this school. read more

We have had a wonderful experience at the Kensington School and our daughter has really taken to the daily routine!

They need to learn to shovel ALL their sidewalks surrounding their school. Picking and choosing what they want to clear is annoying. It's really not that hard to make the pathways clear read more

My husband went to pick up our grandson and they did not check his ID and brought out the wrong child. Very scary! This was very upsetting to our family. My daughter was told that there was no breech in policy. Of course he is no longer attending and when she requested her $200 deposit back they refused. This was his second week. I have been a resident of Geneva for over 20 years and was very shocked that this happened. My suggested is to be cautious when using this daycare. read more

We had our first son attend Kensington School in Geneva 2 years ago after we visited several other schools because they presented a very attractive program and the teacher's were very engaged. They do take great care in their curriculum but that level of quality ends with the administrative staff. We noticed problems immediately after enrollment when their admin office started requested paperwork that we had already submitted. No big deal, so we filled the forms and returned them. On the first day of school, we were surprised to hear that our son was not on the roster for his class. The admin promptly fixed this and said it was a clerical error. Similar incidents have happened during the 2nd year of my son's enrollment. Fortunately nothing serious ever went wrong but we weren't very happy with the errors and our son was moving on to pre-school For our second son, we decided with Kensington again thinking the problems were behind us since they knew our family. Immediately after enrollment, we received a letter with a checklist of all the necessary paperwork...EVERY box on the list was checked as missing. Even after we hand delivered the enrollment packet with the admission fee and 1st month's tuition. That was the deciding moment where we decided to take our son out of the school. We called and asked to take him out and for a refund on the cashed checks. They had no excuse for the lost paperwork and denied the refund. I was bounced around to several administrative staff each denying the refund and telling me to speak with the next person. which brought me back to the first person I spoke with. Their reasoning behind the no-refund was because of the explicit signed agreement during enrollment that all payments were non-refundable. We asked if they had our signed agreement since on the previous letter it was checked as missing. They said they did so we called their bluff and went in person to the school to see the document. When confronted, they could NOT produce the papers and said the agreement was implied with payment. We threatened to file complaint with the BBB to which they didn't seem to care about and to write a negative review online. After being asked if it was worth the bad press, they said that it was fine. Since then, we've reached out to other families that were classmates with my son. We are not the first to go through the administrative blunders. We are currently in an open case with the BBB. Bottom line, if you can tolerate the headaches and poor administrative service for your child's early schooling, then this is the place for you. read more

I'm no Karen but we had a very poor experience. This school is a joke!! Started off good but that changed for the worse, very quickly. I am beyond glad that we pulled our child from there. Daily reports of my child taking two naps at the same time? A bodily function listed after they were already picked up? A parent should know these things for when they get home. They set a standard and then fell short, constantly. When you bring things to the directors attention, it was brushed off. Wrong people are in the wrong positions. Probably why there has been such a high turn over rate at this location. The fact that they would even think I would give a 2 week notice to have my child stay there is beyond insane. No refund but my kids wellbeing is more important than the money hungry people there. Funny how the "area director" still wont reply to our emails. I am pleased I wont have to walk my child through a swampy mud puddle to get to their class anymore or have to see them playing with broken toys. Choose wisely!!! read more

I have both my boys at Kensington and I cannot say enough. My son has been diagnosed autistic since starting here and they have been so amazingly supportive and accommodating to us through the process. The director and teachers are the absolute best and they truly care. I wish they would expand to an elementary program so I could keep my kids here longer. read more

If I could give this school no stars I would. The quality of this preschool, teachers, and director is NOT good. When my daughter's teacher embarrassed her in front of adults and peers, she did not want to return to this school. When I called the director about it she feigned little concern and barely apologized to me when I told her this was the reason I was pulling my daughter from the school. As a former educator, I was appalled at this whole experience. A supposed veteran teacher should know better than to embarrass a young child in their first school experience, or at least apologize to the student afterwords to right the mistake; and the director should go to any means to right this experience but since she did not this is why I am posting this unfavorable review about this school. Spend your money elsewhere on a more quality school. read more

My son is in the 3s room here and I cannot say enough about how great this school is. The quality of education my son has received thus far is outstanding. Not only are his teachers passionate about what they do, they are loving and always keep the lines of communication open. As a mom who works full-time its heartwarming to know that my son is safe, having fun, and getting a great education every single day! read more
