Kate the great! It's cheesy but true. Here's why:…read more We hired Kate for my second labour. My first labour was okay. It was a textbook labour (aka "easy") and epidural-free, under the care of midwives in a birth centre. That being said, I felt traumatized by it for quite some time afterwards. The pain totally surprised me and I felt like things got out of control. It was otherworldly and, quite frankly, I needed more support than I got. During my second pregnancy, I did some research. I realised midwives, doctors, and nurses are great as healthcare providers, but they don't provide much emotional support. I wanted more emotional support and I wanted A LOT of suggestions on how to manage the pain in the moment. Enter Kate. She impressed me right away because I could see she was super organised. She also had an immense toolkit to manage pain and calm emotions. Hiring her was a no-brainer (although I admit I had some sticker shock -- more on this later) My second labour ended up being more challenging than the first (epidural failed, baby was stuck, etc.), but it felt better and more peaceful thanks to Kate's presence. Nothing about it felt traumatic. I cannot recommend Kate enough. Don't believe my review? My husband was skeptical prior to meeting Kate. "I don't think she'll be able to offer much more than a midwife", he said. After meeting her, he was surprised and impressed by her knowledge and toolkit. After labour, he agreed with me that she was worth every penny.

Bloor Street: The staff are very nice and helpful. The clinic itself is the size of a dentist room very SMALLLL. This clinic is different as they ALLOW YOU to bring someone in for support while the Mississauga Queensway location DOES NOT. I preferred the does not clinic for that because it is empty , quiet and only people who are getting the procedure/clinic workers are there to aid you. All about preference. This one is so CRAMPED THAT THE ROOM WHERE THEY DO THE ABORTION IS SMALLER THAN MY WALK-IN CLOSET!!!!!! It is way TO SMALL OF A CLINIC. It is quite outdated and tight. But the staff are very kind and helpful. The largest room is the room where the women rest after the vacuum/surgical procedure. This one gave me an anxiety attack after with how tight, small and the amount of people they allow in the waiting room. Mississauga/Queensway: They do not rush you in any way, very large space for the operation/waiting room, it's quiet, very accommodating staff. The only downside I will say is the INTERNAL-ULTRASOUND TECH here is WAYYYY to aggressive with the wand in how deep and strong she inserts it. This ONE DOES FANTASTIC WORK!!!!! *** For Reference I got the procedure in Mississauga in the September of 2018 and the Bloor West Procedure in June 2019.

After working with Dr. Chan for several years, I can confidently say she is one of the most exceptional physicians I have ever encountered. She is a giant in her field, yet remains incredibly humble, compassionate, and genuinely invested in the success and well-being of her patients. Throughout our journey, she was always straightforward and honest, while ensuring there was a clear plan and next step in place. Even during difficult moments, she gave us confidence that we were moving forward. What sets Dr. Chan apart is not only her expertise, but also her bedside manner. She treats her patients with kindness, respect, and empathy, making an incredibly emotional and challenging process feel manageable. It was always clear how deeply she cared about our outcome. The nurses and administrative team deserve special recognition as well. They were exceptional every step of the way. Their support, encouragement, and compassion meant so much to us. Over the years, many of the nurses felt more like friends than healthcare providers, and their kindness made an enormous difference during our fertility journey. On May 20, 2026, I gave birth to my first child, something that would not have been possible without Dr. Chan and the team at Markham Fertility Clinic. Dr. Chan was one of the very first people I sent photos to after our baby arrived. In fact, if we had welcomed a daughter, her middle name would have been Crystal. For anyone considering fertility treatment, I cannot recommend Dr. Crystal Chan and Markham Fertility Clinic highly enough. They changed our lives, and we will be forever grateful.

Afterwards, you would need to do blood tests, ultrasounds, sonohysterogram, semen analysis, etc. The good news is that you could do ALL OF THAT at Markham Fertility Centre. It's like your one stop shop for all. While Markham Fertility Centre is in a building beside the hospital, it is NOT in the hospital. It is on the fifth floor and the whole floor is where you'll meet your doctors and do your tests. There is parking across the building is $8/hour, and the office runs pretty on time, so you don't have to worry about sitting for hours waiting for you turn. At the writing of this review, no, I am not pregnant and am not planning to at this very moment, as I need to work on some other health concern. What I am very pleased about is that Dr. Garcia was super supportive of me taking the time to focus on my health before trying to get pregnant. Her staff is attentive and sends you emails to follow up with your next steps when you are ready. Some of my friends tell me that they have not heard from their fertility doctor, but Dr. Garcia and her team are always checking in and following up with us. Overall, I am super grateful to be under the care of Dr. Garcia and her team. Without a hesitation, I would totally recommend, if you are having trouble getting pregnant, to get a referral to see her! You won't regret this decision! A small tip for my ladies: When they tell you take a pain killer before your sonohysterogram--it's not a joke, DO IT! The procedure was PAINFUL, but thankfully, it only lasted 2 mins. ;)

It was a hairline fracture of her scaphoid (sp? not checked) which was more than enough to cause the pain. The doctor quickly completed the xray and confirmed this- and put on a thumb and wrist cast that, I dare say, it have gone MUCH worse if those doctors at Cortellucci has not been so diligent! They knew they had to treat the injury and took the time to explain the situation to my neice, my sister and me so that we could all be comfortable with what was to come. Today, 6 months later, she is playing ball again-- tearing it up! I think the doctors, radiology technician, and staff members who knew what to do and did exactly what we expect in our public health care system! Kudos!
