Almost the entire bag looked like this. The day purchased...

First time shopping here this weekend since the pandemic/shut down. The fruit we purchased was so over priced and we came home to find over half the bag was rotten. $11 for two bags of grapes and they weren't edible. What a scam, definitely will not be returning here again.

I enjoy going to Ken's on Plainfield. They have a good selection of produce. The store is not too large and I like that feeling when shopping there. I have purchased some of their meats from their full service meat department and have been happy with the quality and selection. The outside bedding plant area has even very good but was curtailed this year by GR Township. I hope they work something out soon or Ken's will be moving out of the township. I enjoy the employees there who are friendly and very helpful. Especially Al, who runs the plantings part of the store. A nice addition to the Plainfield corridor!

Good selection of meat, fruits, and veggies. They also carry my favorite milk from a glass jug that you can return and get a dollar back.

Great prices on produce and I love their selection of brats at the meat counter. Friendly staff help with the neighborhood grocer feel.

I can dig it, though, because sometimes I am that person. But also, sometimes I am not that person, and I'm especially not that person when I just want to find a fully stocked aisle of children's medicine (Tylenol in bubble gum flavor, in fact) at a good price. Thankfully, Bridge Street Market is a little bougie, but not so bougie that it loses its Midwest Meijer roots. Anyway, I picked up my children's Tylenol, but I also stopped by the wine section before I checked out. Bridge Street Market has a large and fun wine area. I say fun because they take the time to label some of the wines on display with tasting notes and other descriptors. I was in the Italian section, so I picked up a bottle of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, just based on how it was displayed on the shelf. The merchandising people at Bridge Street are doing a good job -- they made me pick up wine on a whim! (Which, to be honest, isn't that difficult, but still.) All of the checkout lanes are self-check-out, but there are people standing by to help.

I'm happy to report that since the remodel of this store, it's now my favorite Aldi location! I…read morelove Aldi for their low prices and decent quality products. I can usually find everything I need and get in and out of the store super quickly, which is a definite plus for me. I haven't noticed the "zombie apocalypse" vibe in the store recently with boxes and items everywhere. It's usually pretty organized and shelves are usually stocked, even with shortages of products being the norm lately. If you've never been to an Aldi, bring your own bags or be ready to pay a small fee for paper bags or nicer reusable plastic bags. Then you'll need a quarter for a cart - you insert the quarter into the slot on the right side of the cart, which releases it from the line of carts. Then when you're done, return the cart and insert the little chain into the back end of the slot, and it will push your quarter back out for you! I'm never without my "Aldi quarter" in case I ever need to make a quick stop. Once inside you'll find a wide variety of pantry staples, seasonal items, "Aldi finds (limited time products)," deli items, frozen food, and a decent amount of produce. Pricing is typically lower than most grocery stores and you'll see a lot of Aldi branded things in addition to some name brand items. I personally have come to prefer many of the Aldi brand items over some name brands. The Aldi finds aisle is always fun to check out as you can sometimes find hidden gems there. I got a Calico Critters set for my niece once - those aren't always easy for me to come across. I love their seasonal decor items, too - including the cute wreath with fake pumpkins on it that I got last fall. Check for quality on these items, since it can be a little hit or miss, but for a seasonal item that I use once a year it's usually fine. Some things I stock up on at Aldi: canned beans, eggs, cheese, frozen food including shrimp, salty snacks like chips and popcorn, produce, and chocolate - they are known for having a great selection of imported chocolate. Aldi is also my go-to spot if I'm making a cheese and charcuterie board, as they have a lot of great options including lots of great dried fruits and nuts, meats, and cheeses. One thing that I always notice is that there are usually only ever one or two employees at the checkout lanes, but they are super speedy and it never really takes too long to get in and out of the store. The parking lot is pretty large for this Aldi and there is plenty of other parking nearby.

We recommend skipping the bottle return area and particularly the Aldi branded canned/bottled…read moredrinks, which their machines decline to accept, with the exception of the occasional (perhaps 1 in 6) which it will accept after rejecting the same bottle/can five times or more. There is no customer service area to take returns; instead, you will be in line with people with carts full of groceries. The clerk will give you the stink eye and ask you if you've counted your bag full of Aldi brand cans/bottles rejected by its pathetic machine. Seems odd that a retailer would sell products with deposits and then make returns of deposit items so difficult and unpleasant. Why sell these beverages at all if you are going to make it so difficult for customers to recoup their deposits? (Hint: it's for the money.)
