Do you have an appointment? Well no! We're busy! Have a seat and we'll try to get to you soon. So, I quietly sat down on one of the long padded benches against the wall. The only other customer was a little boy about 7 years old who jumped into the barber's chair shortly after I sat down. I felt very uncomfortable in here. I was a hairdresser years ago and I ran a business, I'd bend over backwards to please and impress a brand new client. Make him or her feel welcome and special. It's repeat customers that keep establishments like this thriving for years to come. I looked up at the price list $27 and up for a haircut. $14 and up for senior citizens as I recall. I want to know the flat fee. I'm an older professional, business kind of guy. I didn't want any goofy juvenile carved out geometric two tiered design on my head. What does a regular haircut cost? I didn't feel comfortable here and at this point in life, if it doesn't feel quite right, I walk out. Sometimes businesses get a little full of themselves, a little too self important for their own good. As I was walking out the keeper of the door quickly informed me he could get to me pretty soon. I'll come back another time. There won't be another time. I do not feel I was welcomed properly when I first walked in. I thought it was a rude way to greet a new customer. First impressions matter!

The barbers were dressed professionally and very friendly. While the decor was what I would expect in a barber shop, I think the antique/classic barber chairs was a sign that this wasn't just another barbershop. You don't have those unless you love your profession. I was assigned to Chase, who cut his lunch break short even though I was the one who was 15 minutes early. I explained how I would like my hair and beard trimmed, and he went to work. He took his time and recommended several style changes for my approval before trimming. I'm not one for small talk during a haircut, but the barbers working that day were having an open conversation and I felt relaxed enough to even join the conversation, which is totally not me. But it definitely helped the time pass quickly and made the experience more enjoyable. Once done, Chase spun me around for a view in the mirror, and I thought he did a fantastic job. But the real approval would be made by my wife, who was waiting in the car. She liked it so much, she suggested that I change my barber. So, while it wasn't my intention, looks like Chase will have a new client. The prices here are a little higher than what I usually pay, but with the quality of work, it's well worth the price. It was really refreshing to find a barbershop that was open not to just cut hair, but to find people who understand and enjoy their craft.

When I walked inside the shop, it appeared to be clean and welcoming. I only waited what seemed to be five minutes before I was seated. They did have a nice lounge area with seating. The Haircut was $35. I decided to just get about an inch off the top with square sideburns. On the back, I got my bulky hair cleaned with a taper. The Haircut took maybe about 30 minutes. I was pleased with the result. Paola was my barber and she took her time. She had me check how everything looked to see if any changes needed to be made. I feel she was into her work and wanted her customer to be happy. Overall, this barbershop was impressive with cleanliness, professionalism, and quality. About 3-4 inches off the top, cleaned up around the ears and not shaved up in the back. How difficult can that be? The barber never positioned me facing the mirror. I sat with my back to him and the barber behind me. He put a cape on me and a tissue around my neck. After 15 minutes of sitting with my back to his station, while he did absolutely nothing to my hair. I felt my pants pocket and discovered I left my cell phone in the car. I asked if I could go get my cell phone, he took the cape off and I hurriedly walked ‍to my car with the tissue around my neck. I thought to myself... Hell! I walked inside with my significant other and ended up waiting only about 15 minutes. They had seats, so it wasn't a big deal. I got a Men's Haircut and it was $25.00. I came in for a simple haircut with that being square sideburns, clean and square in the back, and an inch off everywhere else. It came out great! I was pleasantly surprised at the result since my barber finished so quickly. It felt like I was only in the chair for a few minutes. My barber was both polite and friendly. 3 HOUR HAIRCUT. And all i got was a fade. I can accept a…read morenew barber going through the ranks and learning. I cannot accept 3 hours though. During my haircut, Alex was asking the other barbers for cutting advise. He was asking them for different clips because he lost his. Back of my head and ears were raw from him working on the same spot for - no joke - 30 min. Freddy stepped in to help him out in that spot. After 2 1/2 hrs, he brought the mirror out saying he was done. However, he left the top part of my fade long even though i asked for a high fade. I was about to just pay and walk out, but the lady barber saw my disappointment and stepped in to fix all of it. I walked out somewhat happy about that. When i got home, i was told my whole back neck was still long.... which i had my wife fix. At no point did Alex let me know this was his first haircut, or that he was new. I would have way more accepting if he admitted that. 3hrs is unheard of for a fade. Please get this corrected.
