Both times, the experiences were consistent, and I really loved her professionalism, as well as being personable. She was patient, always answering our questions and concerns -- and we had a lot of them, as it was our first time selling a home, and we had a somewhat difficult buyer. She took the time to explain how the process worked and what we could expect, for example, during the appraisal. Also, before closing she gave us tips on She is a busy lawyer, working as a prosecutor for Edison, as well as doing multiple closings in a day. While she didn't always reply to us within the hour, she always replied either by the end of the day, sometimes into the late evening, or by the following morning. To me, that was highly responsive as sometimes she was delayed because of the other person's lawyers. She also responded to phone calls and texts promptly. Her office is easy to get to, parking is best on the side streets as her office only has a couple spaces, which either she or her staff parks in. The office told me many times that due to the simplicity of my case I would get a refund and would in no way owe more than my retainer agreement. After the court date, I received a bill for two thousand dollars more. I found many discrepancies on the itemized bill (phone calls that were ten minutes that I was charged an hour for, hundreds charged just for my initial inquiry, all sorts of botched time and hours for things that I did myself). I tried to explain them rationally with proof and was basically told that I was a moron (sorry but how does a phone call on my cell phone that shows 10 minutes equate to an hour when on the bill?) I even tried to compromise. I figured I'd have little luck trying to dispute something with an office that disputes things for a living but thought they'd be honest and say "oh no that was an error, or that there was a billing mistake, or let's figure this out together"). Now that I have filed an official dispute, I learned that this was not the first complaint made against this office. Now I'll most likely have to go to court or mediation to fight against charges that were incurred due to court/mediation. Ironic. Don't go to them unless you feel like being charged thousands of dollars extra for phantom work to then just have to attend court again to dispute it.
