The bread bowls are frozen- the claw chowder I would say was stocked: real red potatoes and lots of clams, the downside was is it wasn't super creamy... it had a strange taste, and I think it's the stock they use. The bread bowls top is made with rosemary and it's actually really good with the butter. Overall it's not something I would order again. We had canned sodas. Service- was alright. The guy who was in the kitchen was off somewhere else so another guy came up and had said he was off duty but the guy would be back soon. I'd say we waited about 10-15 minutes. Ambiance, the shop inside is decent and clean. I'm not sure that I'd recommend this place based on they didn't have half of the items we originally wanted to get.

On previous visits we have had fried oysters (the best, with tasty dipping sauces and coleslaw), shrimp cocktail, and fried shrimp. Everything is mouthwatering and satisfying. The servers are friendly, attentive, and non-obtrusive. The atmosphere is open and friendly, never rushed. On my last visit, there were four people sitting at a table nearby playing Mahjong. There is also a greenhouse and a nice selection of plants available for sale. And each time we caught lots of crab, when you bring them back they will cook them to your liking. There are some rules but it's pretty simple overall. Patience is key when you're crabbing and remember the early birds get the worms! The staff is all very friendly and have a passion for this. In the gift shop they sell drinks and snacks that you can take with you on the boat. We'd do it again and again!

I spotted Big Shu's on our way to the beach, and while it was early enough that they weren't yet open, I filed it away to check on our drive back by. And happily, we spent enough time gallivanting in the sand that they were, indeed, open for the day. Yay! We pulled into a parking spot (only a few and the lot is bit awkward, though there is more available behind the store) and trotted on in. It is an unassuming lil' shop with a limited selection of chocolates, but I don't mind as that meant I didn't have to make any tough decisions. I got at least one each of all the dark chocolate varieties on offer, along with a bag of peanut brittle. I believe THE Big Shu helped us and was nice and friendly as could be! He packaged up our selections in a simple white box (with flavor key, thank you very much!) and we were on our way. Well, I'm nothing if not a true chocoholic so as soon as we were in the car I tried one of the chocolate buttercreams. I don't want to say I was surprised by how good it was because that implies I didn't think it would be that great, but the chocolates just looked so simple I wasn't sure what to expect. It was delicious! I am not big on cream fillings, and this buttercream is what should always be used instead. Man! It was so yummy I next had to try the coconut, and then that was so tasty I had to try the peanut butter and well, with my best intentions to save the treats to enjoy over a couple days, between my husband and I we ate them all before we got home. He also consumed the entire bag of peanut brittle so....let's just say Big Shu knows what he is doing! They also had milk and white chocolate if you aren't a dark chocolate fan, and I am pretty sure I spotted some fudge as well. You can order online for pick up or just stroll into the store like we did. I wish I lived closer so I could return with regularity, but you best believe next time I'm visiting that I'll be picking up 1 or 2 (or 3!) of each of the chocolates available.
