I was referred to an endocrinologist by my PCP after an abnormal thyroid ultrasound. I'll admit I was hesitant to schedule with this office based on some reviews I had read, but appointments with Baptist Health and UHealth were booked out 3-6 months, while I was able to get an appointment here within 2 weeks with Dr. Dianelys Mendez. Scheduling through the practice's website (https://my-endo.com/services-2/endocrinology/ ) was very easy and convenient. Before my appointment, I emailed the office my lab work and ultrasound results. When I arrived, I was greeted by the staff and seen right at my scheduled time. The intake staff member was professional, courteous, and confirmed that all of my medical records had been received and added to my chart. Dr. Mendez was extremely thorough during my visit and took the time to answer all of my questions. I later returned for a thyroid biopsy, and the experience could not have gone better--again I was seen on time, and treated with kindness, professionalism, and respect throughout. I highly recommend Dr. Mendez and her office for their excellent care, professionalism, and efficiency. read more

My appointment went fine but the clinic manager Julie is too rude and loud towards patients and employees I believe she needs more training on how to keep office voice & communication civil and professional. I felt like Julie was screaming from one side of the parking lot to the other side... Please let her know that I love this office, my Endocrinologist, the front desk personal as well as the guy that takes patients weight and blood pressure. Julie needs more training or she needs to be out of this office as a manager she is not read more

Dr Shephard is no longer there and when he was many years ago, his staff was already awful. Now, from what I hear no one answers the phone or and if they do they are treating the patients like shit. Shephard's absence is a mystery no one talks about. But he never had any control of his office to begin with. If anyone knows the reason why he is gone please post a review here. It's sad because he was one of the top doctors in the field and his patients with serious health issues were abandoned. read more

I was not seen by Dr. Shepard because he s no longer seeing patients. I was seen by Dr. Dianelys Mendez. She is a great Doctor & takes her time to explain everything well. The office staff however is horrible. No one ever answers the phone!! Sending emails is pointless. Its a shame that Dr. Mendez deals with that type of staff & administration. I will not be going back to that office & will never refer a patient due to the lack of communication. I can only imagine how many patients she has lost for this read more

My mom has been his patient for 10 years and lately, she isn't even able to see him but to get refills on her diabetes medication, she needs an appointment-- one that they wont give her until April. This is is simply the latest in a long line of scuffles and fights with the front office. They are rude, callous, unprofessional, and are playing with people's health. They are on a power trip, gatekeeping patients from their doctor. read more

During Covid we were packed side by side. But now the wait is almost 3 hours. The doctor has no people skills and staff is horrible.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shephard for over 20 years. The care I received from Dr. Shephard has been exceptional. He has listened to my concerns and his personalized treatment has always had a positive result. His team is professional and very helpful specially Julia. I want to give her a BIG SHOUT OUT! I recently had a problem with a medication in which the insurance company did not want to approve it. Julia immediately called me and heard my concerns. She helped me with this issue and got the insurance company to cover the medication. Thank you so much. Beatriz Alvarez read more

I usually don't do reviews but DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! I waited 2 hours to be seen (why did I get an appointment for?) and that Dr. was so rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. read more

Crystal is amazing , but these people in the front need more training . The office is filthy, microwave on the front with oven seen . The answering staff is extremely rude and sound like they don't want to be bothered read more

I waited 2 hours on my second appointment before asking to be rescheduled. My rescheduled appointment conflicted with a dental appointment so I called Dr. Shephard's office one week prior and asked to be rescheduled. I was told that they do not schedule a third appointment. I then received a certified mail letter dismissing me as a patient. Dr. Shephard is a disgrace to his profession. read more

The office staff was beyond rude. My husband had a 10 am appointment for a biopsy that was to take 45 minutes.. We waited until 10:30 was told there were 4 people ahead of him AND Dr. Shephard always runs one hour behind. RIDICULOUS. If we ran one hour behind on our appointment they would take the next person and charge us $35.00. I told the lady who I told we speak ENGLISH yet insisted on speaking SPANISH to me to give me my husbands Drivers License and Insurance Card back. She asked i I would like to re-schedule. I said NOT WITH YOU. If you want SPANISH ONLY patients please SAY SO, I WILL NOT BE OFFENDED. I am offended with your attitude and rolling of the eyes, Chicha please. DO not insult my intelligence...I did not insult yours. Will never ever go there again. CAUTION. k read more

I was referred to Dr. Shephard through my PCP. When I called I was informed Dr. Shephard would only give me an appointment after reviewing my records. My PCP sent over the relevant records, but I was told they hadn't been received. I asked the records to be sent again. After a week I called Dr. Shephard's office to confirm receipt of my records. I was told they needed more records. I called my PCP again. They had called to verify the records Dr. Shephard wanted and sent them again. Several calls later, I was certain all the records had been sent. Several weeks later, I still had not heard from Dr. Shephard. I gave up and found another endocrinologist on my own. it was a frustrating and unrewarding experience. I don't know if Dr. Shephard is a good doctor or not. I never got the chance to find out. read more

... sitting 12 ppl in your waiting room during covid is ridiculous as is waiting 1 hr to be seen

Typically I don't bother with writing reviews, but this office is so mismanaged I felt it was necessary and hope it helps others. Be prepared to wait hours to see this doctor. Frankly I don't understand why some doctors office think it's okay to make a patient wait hours in the waiting room before bringing them into the office. The notion that one's time is not as equally important is frustrating. Unfortunately this seems to be a practice in this office. My appt was at 9:45 & I wasn't brought in till 12:15, yet all in the waiting room could hear the reception call one patient who was running 10/15 minutes late to inform them that they were late, needed to reschedule & they would be charged for appointment. Spare yourself from this doctor & go elsewhere. read more

Every single time I have to come here with my grandmother I dread it in a way I can't explain. The front desk lady I have to describe her because I don't know her name. She's on the heavier side wears glasses and is extremely loud and obnoxious. She's been a problem since the first day I came with my grandmother who is 65 years old. Every single time I come she's talking about fighting with someone or about something. Today March 22 at 12:13. We walk in and I'm greeted with an amazing side stare from this "young" lady and as we sit down mind you I speak English my grandma doesn't she says I don't want her here I said she was not aloud here anymore as if she had the right to choose who comes into the office and who doesn't. On our last visit that was about 2 weeks ago she constantly bad mouthed my grandmother and I and out loud mentioned things about my grandmothers health to the point that another patient in the waiting room with us said we don't need to know her personal information. Like I said the front desk is absolutely disgusting but the doctors are good enough for us to stay here I really hope a change to the front desk is made before they start to encounter bigger issues. I'm a very calm person NOW but best believe I would have resolved this easily not everyone will tolerate her bad mouthing a 65 year old lady and he medical conditions witch is an extreme hipa violation that can for sure cost her her job. read more

This office gets worse by the minute. I've been seeing this doctor for about 9 years. As the years have passed, Dr. Shephard never sees you, he hands you off to every other new doctor he adds to his practice. His office staff is terrible, no help. And if you ever try to call the office GOOD LUCK. They never answer, if you press option 7 which is suppose to take you to a human, the phone rings off the hook then they hang up. Today I've call over 7 times and each time they have disconnected the call. Its ridiculous They are playing with peoples health. I am finding a new doctor ASAP!. DON' T GO TO THIS PLACE. read more

Don't bother trying to see Dr. Shephard as a new patient. The office staff is useless. Basically if you don't know your complete medical history already they can't make an appointment for you as a new patient. Isn't that the whole point of going to see a new physician? If this is the experience of just trying to make an appointment as a new patient, it happened for a reason that I couldn't become a new patient. Thanks for not taking my money, I appreciate it! read more

I have been going to Dr. Sheppard for almost a year. He got my thyroid in control with the appropriate medication. He goes over your test results, and always asks you if you have any questions before the appointment is over. He is an excellent Doctor. His staff is very pleasant and accommodating. They work with you. I have no complaints and certainly recommend Dr. Sheppard. read more
