After getting my TSA precheck I have had a sore throat, cough, body aches. I am fully vaccinated but I said while I am in Kenner just pop in for a rapid test. The staff was so rude and not friendly. After standing at a window ringing a broken bell, while a man was sweeping, 2 feet from me , for 10minutes. I was shoved a clipboard to fill out. On my completion, I was told it was $85. WHAT???? We were desperate for Covid tests to take our flights to Europe just 6 hours away. We had done tests a few days before at CVS and they never sent results. We called dozen places in New Orleans and as far out as Slidell... and we got answering machines, or were informed there were not tests, or they couldn't process in one day. CVS had been free, but most of these sites were listing 150 to 195 per test (the convention center site, clearly gouging tourists). Googling "covid test near MSY" came up with nothing, so I tried inputting Kenner, where the airport is located. And Kenner Discount Pharmacy came up. I called, in an absolute panic at this point, and they said don't worry, come on down. The place is not the cleanest, the strip mall location is sketchy, the woman behind the counter was not nice... but the woman who did the testing was wonderful, kind, empathetic, soothing to my kid who was scared.. and though turnaround is an hour, she rushed it for 30 min. Yes, it was 100 bucks per person, but cheaper than the NOLA sites and WAY cheaper than rebooking our flights. Then, in the airport check in there was a family from Switzerland near tears as they had not gotten their results from Walgreens yet and couldn't board. I sent them to Kenner Pharmacy and am happy to say I saw them a few hours later in the departure, they said the Pharmacy had saved their trip. The entire covid testing for travel business in NOLA is a disgraceful mess... so whatever the negative reviewers here say about Kenner Discount Pharmacy, today they saved very expensive flights for at least 6 people I know of. I find it very odd and questionable that the pharmacist was unable to process a prescription with an insurance ID number and company name. The pharmacist requested more personal information than a date of birth, first/last name and insurance ID/company name. I am not sure this is a good establishment. I am a Big local or family owned supporter, I found this place for my kids when they were young , it was locally owned, and the pharmacist was so helpful and friendly, she made sure to have my kids fun vitamins when they came in, an fast forward many years later, and still beautiful people work there , my flu shots are ready every year , an The pharmacist also does compounding and makes any medicine into any form you can't get that at the chain stores so if the medicine makes me sick she can make it into a liquid or a suppository or so many different things a gummy bear, lol , I am a name, a person , Not just a reward card number ! It's a family atmosphere, but the knowledge an cultural gain from A natural healing pharmacist also in fact she is like a saint I know that she spends a lot of money and time giving back to the community mentors and helps with delivery, before are used to believe in the flu shot I remember having the flu and I could not leave the bathroom my doctor wanted me to come in and wait an hour or two to be seen to get Tamiflu and at that time I was burning up and could not keep anything down or inside of me much less get into the car and drive to the doctor it was a flu and she called in to my doctor got my Tamiflu and it was delivered to my home within an hour anyone who has been sick I'm sure you could really eat you just want to, try to get comfort laydown in between episodes of sickness the last thing you want to do is put clothes on and take your chances in public when you're burning up in your bodily fluids are uncontrollable sorry to be so graphic but the knocks on the door, it was like a savior the next day I was better but if it was up to me going to a normal chain pharmacy I probably would've lost my job for missing any more work I would definitely recommend this pharmacy especially for people with chronic conditions who I need their diabetic medicine or asthma medicine or something when you're sick in bed I give the delivery driver five bucks tip and you're back in bed to recover and get back to life I cannot express to you how much I love the people at this place, They are definitely a beacon in the community! read more

Let's just say patience is key and it is free. I went to this pharmacy today because it was recommended by many on social media. I wanted to get a Covid and didn't want to wait in a long line and wanted my results today. So I went in wasn't greeted by the "Dr" just looked at me and I went to the window the man there just messed around with papers so I'm like ok. So she then asked me how can she help me I told her I needed a Covid test she tells me it's not free ok lady I have the money. I know she was being informative because some may not know they charge $100 but how she said it. So I say that's fine I'm aware it's a $100. So I fill out the paper work and paid my money and I'm sitting and waiting no rush because I know now and days everything is all over the place so patience is key. So while I'm waiting a guy comes in saying he's in such a rush and he just needs to get swabbed and get out of there. He pays his money but yet keeps saying he needs to get back to work he's in a rush this and that. So the dr comes out and she's talking to a family and he's looking at her like hurry up lady mind you I'm still sitting waiting playing on my phone. Now the dr turns around and he takes him to a room mind you I have been patiently waiting 30 minutes compared to his 5 minutes. Then she turns to me and says I'll take you next. No you won't. There wasn't even any respect to even ask me if it was ok for him to go ahead of me even though my answer would have been no because my time is valuable just like his time. So at this moment I go to the counter and ask for my money back and the guy is like why I explain to him the situation and the dr is on the side yelling she's next so I said no I'm not I want my money back my money spends just like his money and just because he came in telling y'all he's busy it's ok for him to jump in front me like I don't have a life. This is not how you do business and I will never step foot into that place again. This isn't a race rant but fair is fair. If his time is so tight he should've came another time. read more
