We had floor and wall damage due to a ice maker box behind our fridge that had broke. Kennco was the highest recommended company by State Farm and we quickly found out why. Once we contacted can tell they came out within an hour assessed damage and got the process rolling to get our home back to the way it was. not only did they get our home back to the way it was it looks even better than when it was first built. Our insurance company recommended KennCo after a claim we filed due to foundation failure in our home. To fix the problem our home had to be gutted and rebuilt from the ground up and from the inside out. I constantly had to contact the supervisor concerning problems resulting from unprofessional work provided by KennCo Construction. Some of the complaints included: 1. Unlevel floor joist 2. Subflooring joints not aligning with the joist 3. Sheetrock cracking at the seams 4. Roof leaks due to not sealing around the plumbing vent and electrical weather head which led to water damage over our shower and water in our electrical panel 5. Paint issues 6. Faulty electrical connections at the weather head 7. Also found several discrepancies in the itemized billing statement sent to our insurance company. (They billed for different, more expensive, materials than were used in the reconstruction process also billed for things they didn't even do. Just to name a few. KennCo did try to fix these problems but the repairs (especially cosmetic ones) fall short of blending in and are just aesthetically unpleasing. I believe in doing a job right the first time instead of having them come back out time and time again for repairs. For these reasons I would not recommend KennCo Construction to anyone. read more

If I could I would give them no stars. The estimate said it would take 3 weeks. SIX MONTHS later they finally finished. Their favorite saying was "I've never seen that before". Not what you want to hear from the guys you are trusting to put your home back together. When there was water damage on a wall he tried to convince me there was a water pipe there, anyone could have told you there was no way there would be a pipe in this wall!!! In January 2019, a rental house we owned suffered fire damage that required extensive repair. The project lasted eleven months. This was a new experience for us and after contacting our insurance company, we were advised to hire a contractor that we, and the insurance company, could work with. We had known the former owner of Kennco and called to see if he still had contact with the company. He referred us to the new owner, Eric Purvis who had been with Kennco for years and purchased it from the former owner. Eric called me within minutes of talking to the former owner. My wife and I met with him and he outlined how the process worked with three entities involved--the home owner, the contractor and the insurance company. The process, for most, is a new experience and somewhat complicated. Eric's guidance was invaluable . After going through the reconstruction, everything Eric told us turned out to be true. The project flowed very well and the finished product exceeded our expectations. Kennco, through the years, has established a good reputation and a solid relationship with area insurance companies. This is a very important factor in choosing the right construction company for a project of this magnitude. A fire damaged remodel is totally different from a new house construction. Again, this is a major factor in choosing the right construction company. Eric has put together a good staff within his company and has developed good relationships with quality subcontractors. The on location supervisors and the internal accounting department personnel were all first class. Any issues of concern that arose were addressed immediately and resolved in a cordial discussion. read more

Awful company and awful people. We had a house fire in 1/15 and kennco was on the list of companies recommended by our insurance company. They they said that they would help us through this. Told us they we would be involved in all the.decisions. They sounded like good people so we decided to go with them. What a big mistake and nightmare! After that they didn't work on our house again until late March early April! This was a house fire! The longer that stuff stays on things the more damage it causes. They hired everyone that came in. The people in charge of cleaning have had to come back 5 times because I would find soot on things. Finally I gave up and tried cleaning it myself. Kennco lied about a lot of things. Tried cheating us and our insurance company out of a lot of money. They hardly went out and did any work once they did start working. They left holes in the walls, did things completely out of order, made us get a sump in our basement because they flooded it(causing mold to grow on everything) and blamed it on the basement flooding(which we had never had any problem before). Guess what?! Even though they put in the sump(never put in a way for it to drain!) We've still not had any problems with flooding. They did not give us a choice of things that were being put in. Even though we had a clear budget they got the cheapest things and were going to keep the overhead! My husband tried to fire them. We'd already given them over $50,000 and the way it was going we need money to finish it enough to move back in. After talking to Jeff(our lead guy) he accidently redialed my husband and heard him calling us all kinds of things. Eric, the boss, told us if we gave them another chance he would personally make sure we were happy in the end. What a joke. In the end they ended up not doing around $25,000 worth of work that still needs to be done. Last check was about that amount. In order to be done with those miserable group of "human beings" we cut our loses and settled with $15,000 to get the rest of it done. If you value your home, your mind, and your personal wellbeing you should not hire these scammers. They will do nothing but cause heartache and extreme aggravation. read more

While I see a few reviews that others had a great experience with KennCo Construction, I must say we have not. We had a very small Utility room remodel job that should have only taken between 1- 2 weeks, we are now going on 3 weeks. Our Project Manager is terrible with returning calls and communication. Many times he doesn't even show up on site. He decided or was allowed to take a week-long vacation during our remodel and didn't tell us nor did he give us a point of contact or assign another point person during his absence. Then his crews assigned to our job, were pulled to another job during that week. Several days no one even showed up to do any work. Plumber shows up one day, is looking at a door standing wide open, and didn't stay to work. Their excuse . .. they couldn't get in! I was home one afternoon and watched two of their workers just piddle and dilly dally around and accomplish pretty much nothing. Calls to the company have been unsuccessful as you can't get pass the phone receptionist. Her response is always the name of project manager will call you. Well, he doesn't return calls. Another time we asked for someone higher up. She still wouldn't let us speak to anyone, and she says another person will call us. We are still waiting for that call back. Even when they came to do work, they might do just a little bit, like 1- 2 hours worth and then leave. They put half the trim back up before staining. They told us that was their intention, but I'm pretty sure that was just a screw up. They haven't put anymore trim up since we questioned it. I image they will stain that before they install it. The entire process has been so unprofessional, and they seem like they just don't care about our satisfaction or not. It has been very frustrating. We will NEVER use this company for any work again, and will for sure tell everyone we know to NOT use them. read more
