How you don't know HIPPA laws as an healthcare provide. After requesting a copy of my records, I was informed that it is their "protocol" to withhold results until I speak directly with the provider. When I referenced my right to access my records under HIPAA, I was told I was incorrect. While I understand providers may prefer to review results with patients, this should not be a requirement to release records. Patients have the right to access their own health information, and being given conflicting information made the process unnecessarily difficult. Communication was limited to phone calls and a general contact form, with no clear way to reach a medical records or compliance representative. This made it challenging to resolve the issue efficiently. I hope the office reviews its policies and staff training to ensure patients are given accurate information about their rights and a more straightforward process for accessing their records.

Dr Michael Colin is a rarity in medicine. An extremely intelligent Rheumatologist! I had gone to…read moreseveral renowned physicians since having Anterior Cervical Surgery with fusion because of systemic pain which mainly manifested in my lower back. Neurologist, Primary care Doctors, pain management .. you name it I saw them and had scans ordered every 3 months... and nothing. No one could answer why I would loose complete strength, inability to walk, tremors, extreme weakness, fatigue, cognitively slow... I battled with pointless medication for the pain until my brain shutdown along with my body. Here's were this gem of a doctor saved me and my joints from eroding, auto inflammatory disease, and pain management. Finally someone who listens to the entire issue not the symptom.. He's not dismissive but instead supporting and thinks outside the box. I'm an unusual case for a woman of 46 but he's helped me regain my life. Im 8 months into treatment and I'm finally seeing a light! Dr Colin's knowledge of current treatment plans and old school Dr Know How is why he's my top doctor!
Surprised there's no reviews here and I'm the first! Here goes. I saw Dr. Schildhorn a few weeks…read moreago after I was referred to him by CityMD urgent care. I'm a very active person and had injured my calf muscle that morning on the way to the gym while running. I wasn't sure what had happened, but felt a "pop" and couldn't bear weight on the leg....and I was in a lot of pain. When I saw Dr. Schildhorn, I immediately felt at ease as he expertly felt around my muscle to see what the issue was. He diagnosed it as a grade II calf muscle tear (partial tear), prescribed physical therapy for a few weeks ,and described how to initially begin the healing process at home. He even wrote a doctor's note for me so that I could make up a class that I was attending without issue. Really chill and smart guy and would go see him again in a heartbeat should I have any other issues in the future (although fingers crossed I won't!). The only reason I am giving 4 stars is that the office staff uhh....definitely leaves room for improvement on their attitude. Trying to schedule with them always feels like you're inconveniencing them and they have better things to be doing. Not a huge deal though, since the medical care is great.

Also to my mom's credit, she pored through the internet looking for a qualified specialist. She checked Dr Chatpar's background and made an appointment. I joined my mother for the visit. Dr Chatpar and his staff were stellar. A comprehensive history was taken after which Dr Chatpar appeared. He was genuinely warm. There was never a sense that he was trying to escape the room or that he had anything on his mind but his patient. He suggested Prolia as the treatment and he assured us that he wanted us to ask him any questions. He listened to our concerns and adjusted his advice in consideration of our hesitation to commence Prolia infusion until protected by a covid-19 vaccine. I am writing this review on my mother's behalf because she doesn't want to have a social media account. Her words: "Dr Chatpar is the best! He is more than a 5. Whatever the highest rating is, he rates higher!"

In February my search for a vascular specialist lead me to Dr Quin and Soho Vascular. What helped me decide on Soho Vascular was Dr. Quin's ability to explain the procedure with total confidence. My legs haven't looked like this in years, its amazing what Dr Quin and Soho Vascular are able to do. My only complaint with SoHo Vascular is the waiting time for my non surgery appointments. Finally went to Boston and had the hardware removed (it was moving around and could have caused a fracture down the line). The op took 35 minutes and I have been relieved of the pain, finally. Reading over my medical history as written by Dr. K there is no mention of why the hardware was in place and no mention at all of the 11 days in the hospital nor of my ongoing complaints. My mom had been suffering from terrible knee pain after going through a slew of shots and…read moremedication she was finally sent for an MRI which showed a meniscus tear and arthritis, her ortho at the time said she needed a knee replacement, my mom has many co-morbidities and we knew that knee replacement wasn't the safest option for her. I researched alternatives for knee replacement and found Dr. Levy's office and made an appointment for a consultation. We first met with his PA Kevin who conducted a very thorough examination and as mom stated, she had never had that type of extensive orthopedic exam ever, plus Kevin is a very nice guy, patient and very knowledgeable, then we met with Dr. Levy who went over the MRI in great detail with us, we found out that mom had issues in addition to her torn meniscus (turns out at surgery she had 2 serious tears we were never informed of), he told us mom didn't need knee replacement (the practice's bottomline is to save the joint as best as possible) and went into detail as to the procedure he was to perform as well as addressing the menisci, both Dr. Levy and Kevin took their time with us and answered any questions we had. Mom had her surgery in December and is doing well. Dr. Levy and his staff are nice, professional and caring. I was so impressed by Dr. Levy's practice and philosophy that I ended up treating with him for an issue that I've had for over a year, I saw 4 different doctors by the time I was given a script for an MRI and was told nothing could be done for me, one doctor stated I may need a knee replacement, I saw Dr. Levy who easily found my issue by studying my MRI closely and I am scheduled for surgery in the near future. If it weren't for Dr. Levy's knowledge (he's a researcher and inventor as well) I still would be on the vicious cycle of cortisone shots, PT and gel shots. In my experience, it's amazing how insurance companies will easily pay for a major surgery like a total knee replacement (which I don't need) than pay for other treatment that they'd otherwise think is considered alternative, I gladly will treat out of network in order to get the treatment that I need instead of being treated in a cookie cutter way (like being told I need a total knee replacement when I had 'some' arthritis and in a small part of my knee) and Dr. Levy doesn't treat anyone in a cookie cutter way, he treats them as individuals with different needs. I highly recommend him and his staff. Mom treats in the Ironbound section of Newark, and I treat in his Millburn location and both locations are great!

As an open heart patient in Hackensack Hospital in 2009, I realized I was bleeding from my incision…read morevery late one night, about 5 days after my surgery. The 2 nurses on duty cleaned the incision and dismissed it. After it continued to bleed and I rang for them 3 times in little over an hour, they told me to go back to sleep and they would tell my surgeon in the morning. Terrified and alone in my dark room, I began to cry. Suddenly a man came into my room to comfort me. I was very upset and held onto his hand as he spoke very gently, asking me to explain what was happening. He checked the incision and left the room, saying he was going to call my doctor himself and come right back. When he returned he said my doctor would be there shortly and had asked him to arrange for me to have a CT Scan immediately. He escorted me to the imaging room and then stayed with me until my surgeon arrived. It seems the wire that was wrapped around my sternum to hold it together had come loose and as a result I was bleeding internally. It required immediate attention and I was rushed back to the OR so the necessary procedure could be done. I found out after an hour the guardian angel who came to my aid was Dr. Eugene French who happened to hear me sobbing as he walked through the hallway. I have never seen him since that night but I will always think of him as the kind, gentle man who saved my life the night my chest cavity was filling up with blood. The nurses on duty simply said they would not call my surgeon because doctors do not like to be called so late at night! Dr. French simply said, I will stay with you as long as you need me. By the way, I was there for another week after the incident and I am happy to say I never saw either of those nurses again during my stay. And, yes, I did file a complaint through my surgeon. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. French and although I am now 80 years old, I will never forget him. Eileen Morrissey
