I am sharing my experience publicly now as I have exhausted all formal channels without resolution, despite all my good faith efforts. If only I had seen the many other negative reviews before -- several customers experienced similar issues, but mine was the most extreme case of abuse of trust and power. The business is not even accredited by the BBB and has already complaints left unaswered. On January 11, 2025, I test-drove, and on January 15, I purchased a "Certified" Mazda3 GS from Ken Shaw Toyota (2336 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, ON M6N 1K8). The vehicle was delivered with a Safety Standards Certificate (SSC). The salesperson, Manpreet Kaur, reassured me personally that the vehicle was fully certified and safe. I trusted that expertise -- as a newcomer female unfamiliar with the mechanics -- only to discover later that the car was, in fact, sold 'as-is' and unfit with undisclosed mechanical defects. Within weeks, multiple dangerous issues surfaced. An independent inspection (requested by the MTO) confirmed the vehicle was not roadworthy and could not receive a valid SSC. Despite this, the vehicle had been advertised and sold as certified. I attempted to resolve this through all possible agencies OMVIC, MTO, Consumer Protection Ontario, my MPP's office, the Ontario Ombudsman, and legal aid. Despite acting in good faith and even requesting cancellation within 30 days, the dealership used delay tactics, threats, and blame-shifting -- never once offering a safe or legal return option. At one point, they falsely claimed I refused to return the car -- yet never provided a safe or lawful solution. Driving a dangerous, uncertified car was not an option, especially given the findings of the independent garage and the MTO's own request for inspection. Even after all of this, the dealership pressured my bank to reverse a refund request based on proof of misrepresentation. Their lawyer has since sent repeated emails that deflect responsibility and attempt to intimidate me, despite my clear efforts to resolve this through proper channels. I was clear from the start that I was a female newcomer, a first-time buyer, and not a mechanic. I relied entirely on their certification and integrity. Today, I am left unemployed, covering the storage cost of a dangerous car, while they operate without consequences and continue their business as if nothing happened. I am now preparing legal action to seek a full refund and compensation for the damage caused. This experience has been emotionally and financially devastating with no humanity or fairness. I trusted this dealership and was met with unfair treatment and discriminatory disregard for my safety and rights. OMVIC, Consumer Protection Ontario, and other agencies must take action against dealerships that abuse power and mislead vulnerable buyers -- especially newcomers and women. Buyers! Please do your research before trusting this dealership Ken Shaw Toyota with your safety, your money, or your trust. You are only an added transaction. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Things have gone shoddily downhill on a tangent scale since Ken Shaw Lexus hired this so-called somewhat illiterate "Service Manager" Shameer Hussein. He INTERRUPTS almost every sentence you try to explain, shouts at customers, is berating, belligerent, hostile & very aggressive. On Dec-22-21 Ken Shaw Lexus had barely any parts in stock - no windshild wipers in December(?!?), parts for a gasket leaking job, even light bulbs. Given that, i was TRYING to ask Sadam if the mechanic could just tighten or tweak the windshield wipers a tiny bit, and again he freaked out, as described above. Another so called "Service Advisor" Sandy Humphrys kept insisting that Brake Fluid should NEVER be topped up, even a tiny bit, except in the case of a full brake job. Do people at Ken Shaw Lexus know ANYTHING about cars? I was quoted $160 for a Synthetic Oil change. I also requested if they could check for a leak: either Transmission, Brake Fluid, or Oil. Ken Shaw Lexus charged $260 in total, and by the time I got home, noticed they caused FURTHER DAMAGE, and LEAKS ARE WORSE. Pretty Hilarious, although they had NO PARTS, they quoted over $800 for a Gasket job, but the fine print reads this DOES NOT guarantee ANY issues would be fixed, and would want MORE $$$$ to research other fixes. After getting home, I called Sandy Humphrys, telling her the LEAKS ARE WORSE, I was OVER-CHARGED from quotes, the car was INCORRECTLY Diagnosed, they DID NOT DO THE WORK AS REQUESTED, DID NOT HAVE PARTS, conducted SHODDY WORK, CAUSED FURTHER DAMAGE, and guess what, she hung up. Ken Shaw Lexus - LET'S JUST SEE HOW HONEST YOU PURPORT TO BE. Ken Shaw Lexus - YOU CAUSED MORE DAMAGE - YOU OWE ME HALF THE TOTAL - KEEP $130 FOR THE OTHER WORK - REFUND MY CREDIT CARD $130 SO I CAN GET FIXED THE ISSUES YOU CAUSED. UPDATE-1: It's now 7:30am on Thurs Dec 23 - just called Ken Shaw Lexus requesting a partial refund - they said yet ANOTHER manager by the name of Danny Jamal would call back. Will update again later. UPDATE-2: It's now 9am on Thurs Dec 23. Danny Jamal of Ken Shaw Lexus just called, being so clearly & obviously BIASED rejected a partial refund, and EVERYTHING he said is a LIE. Does anyone know if Ken Shaw Motors regularly cheat people &/or is a criminally corrupt organization?? read more

I recently visited Ken Shaw Lexus and dealt with Raymond Fan. As many know, it is not usually a good experience when dealing with car salesman. In fact, I had recently had been to a few car dealerships and was not impressed. However, my experience with Raymond at Ken Shaw Lexus was far from that! Raymond was professional, courteous, and most importantly honest. I felt Raymond was fair and gave me a great deal. Since my purchase Raymond has remained in contact and been very helpful. I walked away from the purchase of my new vehicle actually feeling great. If you are in the market looking for a Lexus I highly recommend dealing with Raymond Fan. read more

I'm BIG on customer service, treating everyone equally whether they're just browsing/leasing/buying, etc. etc., so I was actually really disappointed with the lack of service I received. First, the person I dealt with seemed personable over the phone. Although it was difficult to reach him by phone, he did return my calls in a relatively timely manner. Our personal interaction however was just devoid of any pleasantries. On top of that, he just seemed like he was in a rush to get my appointment over with and acted as if he was doing me some kind of favour by meeting with me. Although he wasn't in the Service Department, I did ask him a technical question and his response was, "I only deal with financing, go to the Service Dept". Good customer service would consist of calling the Service Dept to give them a heads-up that a customer is coming their way. When I went to the service department, they seem puzzled about my dealer-specific question and tell me right away, "We're sorta short staffed...make an appointment the next time you're here". I guess he didn't know I purposely drove in from another city to sort something out. ALL the demos in the showroom are also locked which I found bizarre. At least 2 salesman saw me tug at the door handles and didn't even bother getting up. All in all, I went in there with high expectations and left disappointed. Showroom is nice, new, with soaring ceilings, but as someone in sales/customer service, I can tell their focus is elsewhere. I hope to improve my review on my next visit, but first impressions are pretty important to me! read more

Ken Shaw is a HORRIBLE place and a RIP OFF! STAY AWAY from this place unless you want to be OVERCHARGED! The price I was quoted over the phone was far from what I had to actually pay! I had my winter tires swapped and stored here. This is my 2nd time coming to this location and the only reason I came here is because it is the closest dealership to my house but I will be going back to my regular dealership in the future. REGARDING PROGRAMMING & TIRE SWAP: The first time I came here to swap my tires, I was told that since it was my first time here they had to reprogram and set a new code. The lady that was helping me, explained to me that it will ONLY be a ONE-TIME fee and that I wouldn't have to pay this fee in the future since the codes are stored in their system. She even explained that if I wanted to go to a different Lexus dealership in the future, that I would just call them and they would forward the programming/code info to the other dealership. NOTE: My regular Lexus dealership never charges me for reprogramming if I store my tires with them. (Also I have several colleagues who go to my old dealership and they don't get charged either.) I have other colleagues that go to a different location and the programming is also free if they store their tires. And if they don't store their tires with the dealership, they are charged literally HALF of what Ken Shaw charges! REGARDING INSTALLATION/STORAGE FEES: Prior to getting coming in, I called ahead to ask how much will it cost to have my winter tires stored AND installed. They told me it is normally $110 but since I've stored them at their location before it would be discounted to $100 as a courtesy. The lady I spoke with confirmed that it would be $100 for BOTH installation and storage, I even repeated it back to her and she said yes. But I was charged $165. After everything was done and I was paying, my bill came up to almost 3 times the amount of what I should've been charged. I was asking the lady in front what are all these fees and she says that she says that I have to pay that amount and that is just what it is. I didn't have time to go back and forth and was in a rush so I just paid so I could get out of there. I later called to speak to a manager regarding this and they basically said they can't do anything because the person on the phone who quoted me gave me the wrong info. The manager also said the person who helped me last time who told me that it was a ONE-TIME fee for programming, gave me the wrong info. So this dealership basically said TOO BAD, CAN'T HELP YOU. RIDICULOUS! Both times I was with my spouse who heard the exact same information from their staff so there is no way we heard it incorrectly. So basically what the manager is saying, is that their staff just gives out incorrect info and doesn't know what they're talking about. This is extremely aggravating and I will be taking my future business to my original dealership. Save yourself the headache! read more

Lovely dealership and the sales people were extremely friendly and informative. My problem is actually with the parts department. I needed a new set of keys which cost me over $300 for 1 key and 1 fob. And then they tried to charge me another $165 to program the fob! Funny, because I looked up the programming instructions on the wonderful internet and programmed it myself in under 1 minute. I feel that charging $165 for this service on top of over-charging for the keys is dishonest and this totally rubbed me the wrong way. Not cool with me. I hope that I can save others from this same service, or lack thereof. read more

Switching to Toyota after years with GM is a welcome change, especially when it comes to a fine family owned and operated business like Ken Shaw Lexus Toyota. I received a great deal on a new vehicle and couldn't have been happier with the quality of service I've been shown thus far. I recently attended an "orientation" session by invitation only for new customers. The intent here was to familiarize the customers with the inner workings of the dealership. No hesitation to answer questions/comments/concerns from their customers. Upon leaving, we were given a certificate for a complimentary oil change and a free touch-up paint pen from Toyota. The hours of operation of the service department are exceptional. Open till midnight most days. They also guarantee the time it takes to do your oil changes: 39 minutes or its free. No appointment necessary! When it came time to make a deal I was well equipped to make an informed decision. I had shopped around and saw this dealership in particular as a diamond in the rough. I called ahead to book two test drives, and the vehicles were ready for me when I got there at the agreed time. There's a reason why Ken Shaw is number one, and it's simple, many satisfied customers like myself. read more

They say that you should never trust a car salesmen....and I never understood why, until now. I caught the sales person at Ken Shaw Toyota in a lie. So i took my business elsewhere. My advice, don't believe the first sales person you talk to. Shop around. And don't be afraid to call them out, when you think they are stretching the truth. I'm not disappointed because I was lied to. after all, I expected them to lie. I guess I'm disappointed because the lie was so blatantly obvious. Do I really look that stupid??....wait don't answer that. read more

The service was excellent. The night shift manager Nelson was most helpful in getting my 2014 Tundra properly serviced. I also recommend the GOLD clean up package to anyone. It came back like a new vehicle again! Thanks to all the service and parts staff involved. Bryan read more

This is one of the best dealerships I've been to. Purchased my Lexus CT200H here and the service was phenomenal. Special thanks to Dennis Jung-Sales manager assistant for facilitating my purchase and was executed conscientiously and meticulous. Dennis is charismatic, respectful, compassionate, and really knows how to go that extra mile. Will definitely be coming back and spread the word of mouth to all my family/friends to purchase at Ken Shaw Lexus. Thanks again Dennis and merry Christmas! read more

Great customer service they took longer than normal time changing oil for my car and they let me go free. thank you read more

I had a bizarre experience. Took car in for a safety and the rep called me back quoting every item in thousands of dollars (EG wiper refill was $2400 instead of $24)....like it was a joke. Then I'm quoted around $1000 for required repairs to pass safety. Then I call back for the final tally and it's $1600 including taxes. So I pull the car out and pay $100 for a safety elsewhere....guess what? No repairs necessary. read more

Ken Shaw Lexus did a terrific job earning my business after we had a misstep in customer service initially. We were delighted by the excellent service that Danny Jamal (the GM) provided and white glove service the entire sales process to get us into a gorgeous Lexus 2016 nx200t. Danny patiently answered all our questions and helped us thoughtfully narrow our decision down on the final model. We also hugely appreciated their delivery approach with the vehicle; we had a 5 day old newborn and Danny had one of his top sales guys (Wally) drop our new vehicle to our home! Wally also enthusiastically + comprehensively walked us through all the features when he dropped the vehicle off. They also called after to make sure we were happy with the car and offered a follow up feature walk through session at their dealership when we have more time. Kudos to Danny for turning us into super happy customers that LOVE our new car and also LOVED the white glove service. Would definitely recommend Ken Shaw Lexus and the new nx200t...it's a gorgeous ride! Thanks Danny (+Wally) for the excellent service! read more

Ken Shaw Lexus - Love our new ride! - Car Dealers Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

Great dealership and seriously happy I bought there. I worked with Frank Lamberti. Although I was already dealing with another Dealership, Frank's transparency is what swung me to Ken Shaw Lexus. The pick up process was easy and if I have any issues I know they can come pick up the car for service. Highly recommended. read more

I have had my car serviced here before. They have an awesome customer lounge with a mini bar with drinks, coffee, muffins, and sometimes donuts. They have 2 computers with internet, magazines, and a massaging chair. I enjoy waiting for my car to get serviced while catching up on some work. read more

I went to their used car lot looking for a 2010-2012 vehicle. First vehicle I was shown had a crack on the front fender but of course was told it was never in an accident and no they wouldn't look at it. Second car was covered in dog hair. When I asked if they detail cars before delivery I got a giggle and a no. Opened up the hood to find the engine so rusty I've never seen so bad. Every metal connection was rusty. The guy had no interest in helping me unless I said I was willing to buy a car that day. This is all after the sales guy I had the appointment with was too busy to talk to me. Then the second sales man to help me made me wait 30 minutes. I will not be recommending this place. I took my business to a sale man at another dealership who helped me last year and gave me his time despite knowing I wouldn't be buying right away. read more

I have purchased 4 vehicles from Ken Shaw over the years, and have had them all serviced there as well. Both the sales team and the service department really know their stuff! They provide a level of service that is exemplary, fast, insightful, and most of all dependable. I know when I drop my car off, it's going to be returned to me in perfect condition and with no complications. They really do make it an easy and pleasurable experience for me. Why change a good thing?! I'm looking at the new Lexus models right now. Sincerely, Jody Colero Toronto read more

After bringing my car in for all of my scheduled/recommended service appointments, wouldn't you know it, but one and a half months after my warranty expired, they hit me with $1500 worth of repairs. Perhaps these repairs were legitimately needed, though I have a hard time believing that everything that went wrong couldn't have been forecasted or dealt with prior to needing expensive out-of-warranty repairs. Not only did they not finish the work in the time-frame they outlined, leaving me without a car, but they didn't put my hub caps back on. When I tried to do it myself, I quickly discovered that all of them were broken! To that point, I have never had an issue with my hubcaps. They removed them while working on the car - apparently without much care. They disclaimed all responsibility and refused to replace them. I will never go back, and strongly recommend that you get a second opinion if they hit you with a lengthy list of repairs. read more

It could be premature, but after some research, and a BAD experience elsewhere.I chose to deal with Ken Shaw due to Toyota, and the dealer's reputation, not because they're the "fanciest" franchise. Also,a friend's uncle loves his hybrid Lexus SUV. Sales experience was what it is,but overall I didn't feel I needed a hazmat suit. We'll see how happy I remain when I start going for the annual services given it's the first Lexus I've owned. read more

Always happy with the service I get at ken shaw it always efficient and reliable. Never been an issue if my vehicle had to be towed. having a car rental company inside the dealership is a real plus in case of those uh-oh real emergencies. have had my car for almost 8 years and I must say I haven't had any issues. We looked at other dealerships for a toyota but based on word of mouth i purchased my vehicle at Ken shaw and when the time comes my next vehicle will be purchased at ken shaw. read more

I went in there yesterday to check out a car. The salesman was rude and was making ignorant and racist comments. He only let me test drive it around the block and the back street has speed bumps every 20 metres so I couldn't even take the car above 40 km/h. He wouldn't negotiate the price unless I put down a deposit. David Danon - beware, typical arrogant, pushy salesman. Based on his attitude about how amazing this dealership is, I'd guess most of the salesmen there are this horrible. read more

One of my worst experiences with a car dealer. Gave me a great deal over the phone on a new CT200h. From ottawa so I couldnt see the car but since it was new i wasnt expecting it to be a problem. Emailed the salesperson (Mark) several times to make sure the car was fineand he replied all was well flew in with my wife to pick up the car and when I inspected the car I found two small dents on the door. The car also wasnt (prepped) cleaned inside and out (finger prints on the ceiling and doors and the sticky tape was still found on the car. The tires werent balanced (found that out on the way home) If it wasnt for my wife I wouldve left them with the car. But then we had to find a way home and they knew it. They would not compensate us in any way except to low ball a repair compensation to fix the dents. Turned out to be twice their estimate. It wasnt until we threatened to leave did they offer us anything. Expected more from a Lexus dealership and from Lexus. Will not go back. Beware of Ken Shaw. read more
