true or false: you have to have lots of money to manage to necessitate having a financial planner
FALSE!
after 2 years of saving for a new laptop and not having a penny to show for my efforts, i realized that no matter how many excel budget spreadsheets i created, i could no longer be trusted to create and manage my own budget. in a moment of contemplation, i thought of the phrase "financial planner".... what a novelty!
i hesitated: i thought, weren't those for people with things like, Roth IRAs and 401Ks and W2s and vested balances and..... well, "finances"? that doesn't seem to be for me. but, maybe i'm wrong.
after my initial consultation with ken krantz, i realized that yes, "financial planning" was an Investment (note the capital "I") that i was committing to, but as a single girl without many financial complications, it wasn't an overwhelming cost. i gave him the full run-down of my financial situation. he ran some calculations, gave me some very targeted strategies and advice, and checks in quarterly to see how things are going. ken does an exceptional job at treating my VERY limited teeny-tiny funds with respect and i leave every meeting feeling empowered.
