We came up for the Skunk train and couldn't resist a pie shop right there at the station! Relatively small but fair amount of seating inside. They have a few various pastries including some "mini" pie type pastries as well as cookies. They primarily sell whole pies. They have sweet as well as savory - which is kinda cool! They have the option of heating there for you to eat fresh or you can take and bake. I was impressed with the wide variety of pies available. I do wish they had slices available. Given my party size of 2, it wasn't realistic to try multiple. We ultimately elected to go for the cranapple. This pie was delicious! I am not an apple pie fan, but my partner is. This one won me over. The berry element really enhanced for me. I found the consistency to be very good and perhaps the highlight was the lovely streusel/crumble on top. Overall, their Pies are quite good They are heavy handed with having a lot of piecrust versus an adequate amount of filling. I have found with their savory pies. Specifically, the chicken there is not much filling in them. (Referring to their individual ones) also again a whole Lot of crust. In September, we were heading back to the Bay Area from Fort Bragg and I found Kemmy's Pies on Yelp. It wasn't too much of a detour, so we stopped and picked up a peach pie and an apple pie. Yummmm! This is really the best pie place! Tried a savory pie this time. The chili verde pie is to die for. Everything you would put in a burrito is packed in their delicious pastry.
