This is one of the worst front office staff ever. They tried to tell me if I speak/ask questions to the doctor when I have my FREE once a year check-up, that I automatically get billed for it. So, no questions. Ever since I went to this office, it is about how they get paid. Just to let you know, my co-pay is $25 and it does not matter to me the cost of the service, but it does matter how I get treated for the cost of service. So, I learned quickly that when I go to this office, I pay upfront and ask if there are any outstanding or extra charges to pay for. I will always pay in advance!! Well, months later, I get a bill in the mail stating I did not pay for my $25 office visit. Upon looking at the date in question, I investigated my bank statement, I saw that I had indeed paid. I copied the payment from my bank statement, and also a copy from the bill. Faxed it to them to let them know I paid in full as I always do. Well, I receive a call later, stating that the dates they had were wrong. It was another date they had in mind. When I questioned that date and validated it with payment, they came up with another date. This office is about money, not the quality of care. If you are ok with that, then this is the office for you. I would rather go to an office that CARES about the patient FIRST, the quality of care, then the billing. read more

Dr. Wong is booking out to November for new patients. Unheard of in the Bay Area where we just moved from. Her office staff didn't even sound concerned for my son who is having abdominal pain -- an "Oh whatever, we're too busy to care, kind of attitude." Also, her staff advised the patient must designate Dr. Wong as their primary care (if you have an HMO), before she even sees the patient which could take 30 days depending on insurance. Also unheard of where we are from. Not sure what other stipulations there are if you happen to have PPO instead. I wouldn't trust these Yelp reviews. read more

I used to work at Hoag hospital in Newport so even though I live in N. OC, I chose a PCP in S. OC so in case I need to be hospitalized for anything, I would be able to go to Hoag. I had a little hiccup initially getting a new patient consultation where it took longer than I wanted but recently when I needed to see someone for a shoulder pain, I was offered the same day appointment or the next day. Everyone in the front and back office is nice and professional. Dr. Wong was approachable and spent adequate time talking to me during my first visit. For my recent appointment with the NP, I didn't have to wait too long and was pretty much in and out. read more

Then Kelly pushed my appointment for another 3 months and then told me to see another doctor because they don't want to deal with me. Worse doctor I have ever had. Will never go near them again. Dr. Wong is fantastic and I recommend her to anyone looking for a PCP. She's been my doctor for over a decade and I recommend her every chance I get to friends and family (as we all know, finding a doctor that we like and feel comfortable with, who also won't push us out the door is SO important!). Dr. Wong is that doctor. She never acts as though she's in a rush. She may have appointment after appointment, but I would never know it because she takes the time to listen, address my concerns, and (even if she's looking back at notes) remembers individual points about me. To feel respected and not just "another patient" is the primary reason I trusted her to begin with, and she has continued that through the years. Appointment setter had attitude over the phone that "they don't check benefits" and the patients have to do that.... basically even though they take my insurance, I have to figure out cost based on type of office visit. Dr. Wong is a GREAT doctor. She has the distinction of the "Brilliant Rating" in her website. And in my opinion, for a doctor being label GREAT from a patient, I believe that there are three criteria that doctor has to meet: A) Listening to patient, B) Making the right diagnose for the patient, C) And most importantly FOLLOW THROUGH with patient. On my each visit, Dr. Wong has taken her time with me. She is very nice, easy to talk to and she has great manners. Above all, she is extremely detailed oriented when she examines you and advise you on the possibility and what she suspects that might be wrong. She always discuss the positive and negative result of each office visit while you are there and inform you on what she thinks might be a problem for the visit. The key to Dr. Wong is her impeccable follow up calls and messages to assure you that she is there to help the you with the proper care and that she thoroughly cares about her patients. I rarely recall any of my internist doctors (I had changed three doctors in the past 20 years) to call you and discuss the details of your lab results and this is something that separate Dr. Wong from the other doctors that I have known over years. The nurse practitioner, Sarah is really nice also. Overall Comprehensive Care does a wonderful job on managing patients care while you are being treated by them. In my opinion, Dr. Wong rightfully DESERVE the distinction of "BRILLIANT DOCTOR" and FIVE STAR RATING and if I could have given her SIX STARs, I would have gladly done that. read more

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Wong. She's been seeing me for about 6 months now and I have no complaints. Yesterday I needed some important paperwork filled out with required her to see me. Even with the last minute request, she and her office staff did everything in their power to accommodate a same day appointment, which is unheard of unless you are experiencing a true emergency. This just shows how much Dr. Wong cares about her patients. Each time I've had to make an appointment the office has been extremely helpful, and they always follow up when they say they are going to. I'm so happy I found this office as Dr. Wong and her staff are truly fantastic and I don't foresee myself switching physicians anytime soon! Thank you all for the amazing experience! read more

I am (was) a patient of Dr Wong's. I just called Dr Wong's office to schedule a routine checkup. I am very healthy and my last checkup was 6 years ago. I was told by their office staff that I was now considered a "new patient" after not seeing Dr Wong for over 3 years. Furthermore that Dr Wong is not accepting appointments for "new patients" until "some time next year". Horrible policy. Yesterday I sent an email to Dr. Wong via my secure patient portal site. Being a Saturday, I did not expect to hear from her or her office until Monday or Tuesday. Two or three hours later I received a response, including the document I requested, from Dr. Wong, herself! That's what I call outstanding customer service! For her to take time out of her personal time off to respond to a patient is what I would consider going far above and beyond. i have aetna ppo and i switched my dr to wong. i even got mailed my new insurance card with her as my PCP. i called to make an appt and they said she is not open for new patients and the lady was not willing to budge despite my card showing she is my PCP.
