It was the end of September, and we decided to check out the campsite at Kelling Heath as we had been recommended it, and what was lovely was that it was a fairly quiet time at the park so there weren't lots of people, it was incredibly well priced and just a great place for a break!
The toilet facilities and showers were top class and the facilities were excellent. As I said when we were there it was a quiet time so there weren't too many people around, the forest and fens are beautiful. There is a leisure centre, with pool and sauna and steam room which was sublime, clean and very well maintained. We didn't use the outdoor pool because of the weather but it has one as well as ping pong tables and boulles outside to enjoy and if you are going with kids you are not going to be able to bore them what with bike hire, assault courses for them to do and endless nature to explore.
As well as this is a shop with all you could need for camping and dvds to rent should you take one of the holiday homes or lodges that were fabulous.
Top rate was the staff at the reception - who were thoughtful and proactive and incredibly welcoming and kind - really impressed with everyone that I came into contact at the Kelling Heath Reception - with supervisor Jill and her staff Lee and Jenny just the icing on the top of the cake really! This is an incredibly well-run park, with lovely surroundings.
The holiday home we stayed in for a few nights was warm, welcoming, neutrally decorated and comfortable with mod cons in the kitchen (fridge, microwave, oven, hob cooking and cutlery and plates and serving dishes all there)! There are different types of accommodation to be had and it is as it says on the website a well kept secret but well worth going to as the Norfolk coast (Wells-next-the-sea in particular) and Holt are close by and well worth a visit! There are also places close by such as Thetford forest (on your way back to London) where there is a great GoApe park as well as more outdoor activities to be had for more fun!
I really recommend it - it was incredibly reasonable, well run and a great place for camping and staying in the holiday homes! Enjoy! read more
