I rented privately from one on the agents that works for this company. I normally would leave her business out of this matter, but since she has posted a for rent sign by Keller Wiiliams on the lawn, I will voice here since she has decided to represent her company. I rented from Allison Weber for 2 1/2 years. Her rent was on time each month with the exception of once and I paid her $50 a day until it was paid, totalling $150. I have always maintained her property like it was my own and taken very good care of it. She can be very difficult and will try and place blame on you for things that were broken or damaged before you moved on so make notes on everything and send certified mail. When it came time to renew my lease back in Nov. 2012, I told her we would be moving in June 2013. We did a 6 month lease ending 6/30/2013. By January I had let her know that we would actually be out by June 15, 2013. I reiterrated that to her again in April. Beginning of June I got a letter explaining to how she wanted to wrap up our tenant/landlord relationship on a mutually agreeable note. She outlined how she needed the house cleaned and what she expected and that she would get my deposit back to me within 15 days. I have never rented from someone before where they didn't do a final walk thru with me and then return my deposit right then so i called and explained to her that my deposit and last months 1/2 rent ($500.00) were my travel money to move so was it possible to get that at walk thru. She explained she was in New York and would call me Monday because she would need to call and make sure all utilities were up to date so she wouldn't be stuck with a bill. Well, Monday came and went and I never heard from her. We finished moving and had the house clean and ready for walk thru on Saturday, June 15th, just like I promised. In fact, the house looked better than when i moved in. There were several things, such as the oven, that were still filthy when we moved in that i cleaned before leaving. When I called her to set up the walk thru. She refused. She wouldn't take my call. She only replied by text. Said just leave the keys on the counter and she would do it the next day. When I asked about the last month mad the deposit, she said by law she had 15 days to get that back to me and that she didn't have to return the last 2 weeks because the lease says June 30, 2013 and that if she rented it before then she would give me what was left over. Obviously, this was her plan all along since she had more than sufficient notice to rent the house out. I told her that she was refusing me a walk thru and that if she kept any of the deposit I would see her in court. I learned a valuable lesson with her. Some people are only out for themselves and you should make sure to have everything in writing to protect yourself. I hope that not all of the agents that work for this company are not as greedy as Allison and as eager to abuse whatever power it is that they believe they hold over another person. As I told her, there is a way to treat people, she obviously hasn't learned the proper way yet. Good luck to you if you are dealing with her in any capacity. read more
