This is a public golf course and it's in excellent shape. We were paired with two young gentlemen who were fun to golf with. The course has done a lot of work to plant native plants and it was buzzing with pollinators, quite lovely. The sand was a little rough but overall the course was in excellent shape, especially considering how dry it has been this summer. It is a very tight course. Lots of fairly straight holes going backs and forth. It's not uncommon to have golfers from another hole on your fairway, taking a rather unexpected angle onto their green. We found ourselves there on occasion. We played relatively fast, about 4 hours for 18 holes. Most tee times were filled so it was busy. read more

Don't play Keller golf course. Ben Hogan would be rolling in his grave. Paid $82 for golf and cart. $13.00 gin and tonic to play a dog track. They need new greens keeper. I complained at the turn in clubhouse and was told to go to clubhouse and get my money back. So I walk to the clubhouse and the two old timers wouldn't give me my money back. I respect my elders and took my 9 hole rain check and walked out. P.S shot a 46 on the front-2hr and 40 minute 9 hole death march. Horrible tore up fairways. Over watered greens full of ball marks. Soft, slow and furry. Had to pound your down hill puts. lol Bad form Keller. You give me my money back like you said and I don't take to social media. read more

Have heard great things about this golf course for years and FINALLY got an opportunity to play it yesterday. The best description I heard is it's a country club experience that's open to the public. Maintenance is amazing, tee boxes well taken care of, greens were fast and tricky. A couple holes protected by a big tree planted right in front of the green, kind of funky cool! Played the blue/white combo tees, up a little more than usual, wanted to have a fun first time experience. Very much look forward to another visit soon. Truly a hidden gem with a ton of PGA history. This is a terrific course managed by Ramsey County Park Board. Beautiful plantings for pollinators are throughout the course. The holes are tough but fair. The greens are really a challenge. Great place for a round of golf! read more

I had never played Keller before the recent renovation and at the end of the day it's still a muni course, but for what it is, Keller is pretty great. The course was in great shape for an early summer visit with surprisingly quick greens that were well maintained, as was the rest of the course. While it's definitely not a long course, it is mature and not without some challenges to prevent it from being completely overpowered. Back in the day Keller was host to a number of large events, and while that won't be the case in the future due to it's limited length and facilities, this place still has a lot of old charm going for it. The clubhouse and event facilities are much nicer than you'd expect for a county run course and while I don't think anyone will accuse the restaurant of being gourmet, it's a fine spot to grab a post round nosh and a pint. I'd gladly give Keller another shot any time due to it's combination of affordability, charm and quality of golf. read more

Oh this evil evil course. On one round in my teens I hit 20 trees, 2 rakes, threw my 5 iron in a pond, and played the last six holes entirely with my putter. Hadn't played Keller in almost 20yrs, but was back up in MN for a visit, and decided I owed it an ass kicking after all these years . . . . . . yeah, right, I was happy to walk out of there with a draw. The course was in beautiful shape. I've never seen it that nice. Green as all get out, and they've cleaned up a number of areas that I remember being jungles. We had a 7am or so tee time on the Labor Day Weekend Saturday. The speed of play was great, rarely did we have to wait to tee off and don't think the group behind was ever up our butts. The price with cart was about $75 which I thought was overly steep. It WAS a holiday Saturday, but I'd feel more comfortable playing it again in the $50 range. Love the make over done a couple of years ago. Greens are great. 11 on the stemp meter. Beautiful grounds and PGA level starter and club houses. Challenging par threes. Makeable par 5s. Fairways are in good shape too! Going back for sure. read more

Disappointed!! Seemed pricey at $45.00 for the senior rate with a cart, practice green was very rough and dry, slow play, the greens had been aerated and we didn't know that until we got out on the first green. A few years off can do wonders for a golf course. I never played before the remodel but they have done quite a job. They have a driving range and a putting green to warm up before you hit your first tee shot. Greens, fairways, and tees were all in great shape. The remodel brought a few new bunkers that come into play off the tee. My favorite hole was the par 3 13th. It plays about 150 yards uphill and over water, you want to club up a few clubs on this hole. The course is pretty tight with a lot of holes right next to each other so you have to be aware of incoming balls from other holes. Lot of people like to walk this course so it makes play a littler slower if you are using a cart. Was only $23 during twilight hours which is a steal. Guy in the pro shop wasn't too friendly however, lighten up dude. read more

Way more than meets the eye at this old gem that today's modern golfer would dismiss as being too old and tired. Check out the pics in the clubhouse of the legends who have played here and the tourneys that used to be held here. As well maintained as you'll find in a muni course. Requires shot-making and great touch around the greens, which are small and tricky. Character, tradition, and overall tremendous value for golfers who know... However, it is slow and gets a lot of play. Side by side holes creates some traffic problems on stray shots. I heard "fore" yelled more often in one round here than any other course. Still a wonderful place to play. Had an enjoyable 4 hour round and the conditions were very good. Please note: If you plan to purchase a beverage or food, best of luck. They say that their clubhouse opens for concessions at 8am. That apparently doesn't mean that they will have a someone around to wait on you. Stood there saying "hello" - "anyone around" - no response. Gave up and continued the round. I guess that they don't believe that golfers would be interested in early morning coffee or a roll. Love the course, but will get my beverages and food elsewhere, I guess. read more

On September 15th we held our first annual charity golf tournament and dinner at Keller. The meetings with Lyndsey Lyon the Catering Manager (the appetizer tasting was awesome) and Mark Foley the golf professional were very informative, instructive and we came away believing we were in good hands. When we arrived the day of the event, the golf and catering staff exceeded our expectations. We got nothing but rave reviews about the course, the food and the service from our guests. They did a great job on the remodel. Unfortunately, they opened it too early when the grass hasn't be able to settle in. Because of that, they are over-watering it since they are allowing carts and heavy play. As such, the fairways are in terrible shape. Greens are ok, but need more time. They should close the course for the rest of the year and let it recover and have a later start next year. I will change my review to four stars if that happens. Also could use more spacing in their tee times, play is too slow. read more
