My First time there a few months back, I was charged $10 by one of the barbers to trim by beard. I…read morewas nervous to have it trimmed... but the barber took his time, asked a lot of questions along the way, and did exactly what I wanted. I was very happy with the beard trim results. I decided I'd return a couple months later, this time the owner got me in a chair spent 1/4 of the amount of time on my beard. Never actually got close to my face. Took my mustache way above the lip at an angle with one side shorter, and left the beard entirely crooked. Instead of starting the lip trim from the center and curving outward as should be done, he came at it oddly at an angle from above. You can see the crookedness of both mustache and beard in photo... he Then proceeded to charge $18 for what I spent $10 on 2 months before. What makes this worse is the experience the first time was great, the second time the owner rushed me through.... After several days of being annoyed at how the beard I spent 7-8 months growing out looked, and the comments I was receiving from friends who saw it, I decided to trim it off and restart. I am beyond upset at this lousy job and loss of my beard. Also, in my 3 times there (I went once in 2019), none of my experiences were very conversational. I came in for a line up and beard trim before an important dinner. Sam told me the history of the shop and why he and his cousin decided to go with the old school look. The shop looks like it's taken straight out of the 1920's or something. Very cool. There's a pool table for people to use while they wait as well as a bunch of magazines. There's also coke products in retro glass bottles too. That adds to the old timey feel of the shop. The line up was straight, and Sam trimmed just enough of my beard to still leave it full without it looking as crazy as when I walked in. I think he did a pretty good job. He used a straight razor for the lines, and I have to say that the warm towel afterward felt amazing! If come here again, and I recommend it to friends.

Both of the barbers were young and wearing the "uniform" of the place - button up, vest, and bow-tie. My barber was a very calm, slow talking and meticulous. I get a fade on the sides starting at a zero and going to a two, sometimes starting at a subzero, with a bit taken off the top for a bit more modern "professional" cut. When I told him this, he asked what other options I'd like and...to be honest, I didn't know a word he was saying. This is because they are a licensed barbershop and, well, they really know how to cut hair! The haircut experience was great and he definitely took his time. This was one of the best fades I've ever received - and I've gotten some pretty good barbers in San Antonio and Chicago. This is definitely one of the best fades/cuts in the area, hands down. For the price ($15 for a cut when I went), the environment (super cool pool tables and other lounge things to do), and the quality of the cut...you really can't beat this place. The only other places in town that I trust to cut my hair are the people at Armando's and Dom at Rocco's. Since I liked the environment so much, and the cut can't be beat, I'm switching my business to this shop.

I have been to the shop across the street before (review is on Yelp) , but it did not appear open at 0900 when I arrived. I searched the map and found Jeff's, however, the actual barber shop was hard to find. I found a hair salon at 62 S. Broadway and was willing to give it a try. The door was locked so I decided to look elsewhere for a haircut. As I was leaving I noticed a barber pole on the back (West) side of the building. This is where Jeff's is located. Once you figure that out, it is worth it. Jeff has been in the community a long time. His barbershop is quaint but nice. He is a friend of the military and with my $2 discount, my flat top cost $10. It's what I consider a "authentic" barber shop, a place with sports memorabilia hanging on the walls, along with old pictures, other knick knacks and a spread of magazines.. My cuts from Uncle Doug have been great. He is a good conversationalist with very interesting stories and is knowledgeable of local history. The last time I was in, he had an additional barber.
